You get drawn in, so have the boxes of tissues ready, this one's a tear jerker
Have you all read the synopsis and you're feeling uncomfortable because of the age gap? Don't let that cause you to miss on a truly amazing series with excellent acting from the cast, hard work from everyone clearly seen in every scene, and a story that is well written. Also with mature/seasoned (lol very funny bro moments/interactions) male leads! I only gave it a 9, story wise, because of the unfortunate and uncomfortable part of the age gap of the primary couple in the story - 18 going on 19 and 939 (30s-40s male in appearance). The age gap makes it uncomfortable, but I won't give a horrible rating just because it makes me uncomfortable, especially when everyone worked hard to produce such a fantastic series. You see that, as you get to know the characters, there's nothing disturbing or corrupted going on between them. The lead characters Kim Shin (Gong Yoo/Gong Ji Cheol) & Ji Eun Tak (Kim Go Eun) are very respectful of each other, with adorable moments that make you fall in love with them. With this series, I'm pleased to see that although the secondary couple of the Grim Reaper/Kim Woo Bin/Adult Wang Yeo (Lee Dong Wook) & Sunny aka Kim Seon/Kim Sun (Yoo In Na) meet with tragedy, they are not forgotten. At the start of watching this I had to keep reminding myself I was still on episode 1 or 2 as the story got deeper, the characters more real/solid and the drama intensified. Be prepared to be taken on an emotional roller coaster where just as soon as you find yourself crying, you're laughing in the next moment. These actors are incredible! I was hoping there was a season 2 before the end of episode 1. It's so enjoyable, I didn't even realize each episode is 70+ mins long, which I'm grateful for because I just don't want it to end. Also, did anyone see the goblin & reaper design on the pillows/rolled towels in episode 4? Nuggets like that make watching so fun. I'm in love <3 Also actors
Kim Byung Chul (Park Joong Hun [Goryeo eunuch]) and Jo Woo Jin(Kim Do Young [Yoo Shin Woo's secretary] ) favor each other so much I thought there was one actor playing both roles!
Episode 6 when Grim said I love you & Goblin's reaction as well as in episode 7 with the scary movie, those are unforgettable scenes lol Then Episode 11... man all of them!! I cried nearly every episode... The ending brought everything full circle, with all that wonderful, heart-wrenching, tear jerking, suspense filled moments coming to a cheesy but sweet end for the secondary couple and solid start for the primary couple. Though with the primary couple this, unfortunately, brought back the issue of the age gap. I was so happy to see them together but disappointed that the school girl with the a much older man concept came back. Why couldn't they have arranged for them to meet after she finished college? Also, it left us wondering about how things turned out for Yoo Deok Hwa (Yook Sung Jae).
So try not to let the age gap cause you to miss out on a great series!

An ok filler when you're between shows
At the start, it's a little strange that they find out their children were swapped and then they, somehow, easily find the mother who has their child. Some places the emotion or acting seemed a little strained, but the actors all did well. It was a sad, but interesting & frustrating movie to watch. Unfortunately, it won't be on my rewatch listQuesta recensione ti è stata utile?
It's much better toward the end
This series barely got an 8 from me... to be honest, I started watching because I wanted to see more of Leo Luo/Luo Yun Xi! When I saw him playing the Night Immortal (aka fish fairy haha) I fell in love with his ability as an actor to convey the feelings of his character with such incredible sincerity. For me, falling in love with a character is all about an actor's ability to bring that character to life. So sometimes my favorite character doesn't even have to be or only be the leads. Now, this series does have it's beautiful gems, Huang Jue Jie as Bai Sheng is one of them, but I really didn't see improvement & strength in the story and acting until later episodes. It was like we were finally getting to the main dish of meal and you get caught up in it that you might forget the not so great parts haha and that's kind of what happened for me. But I didn't forget those parts, did you?
Luo Yun Xi is such a powerful actor when conveying emotion, I just couldn't take my eyes away when I saw him in the remaining episodes. But at same time something strange happened with the script where characters forgot things that were revealed between episodes or didn't attempt an ability they had that would've resolved a dilemma they were facing. I have to say the ending was solid, and made me feel I didn't watch all 22 episodes for nothing but I won't be rewatching this. Maybe only certain parts of episodes that impressed me most but definitely not the whole thing.

Loved it!
To many this review might not be helpful, but to those of you who are Ryan Ding/Ding Yu Xi fans watch this!!! He's freaking adorable & so expressive! Although he's very aloof & detached when you first meet him as Actor Han, you get to know him & fall in love with his sweet sincerity, compassionate faithfulness and bravery as Lord Han Shuo. He did an amazing job &!!!! If you can see the behind the scenes footage, that mischievous smirk is so dead on!! So hot too! Haha he and Zhao Lu Si work well together on & off the screen! I almost wish it didn't end, but I'm not sure how they'd make a part 2. I'll fulfill my wants for more with the behind the scenes footage instead <3 <3 <3Bravo to all involved!!!

Overall this is a beautiful, heart wrenching, learning to love and hate series with various highs & lows! The start was rough for me, a few characters seemed like their actor lacked a true feel for expressing them but sticking through it the acting, character depth, & conveying of emotions got so much better... So much so that at episode 26 I was in tears saying, "... oh that b**ch!!" Then there were parts I just had to quote, episode 32:A-li: If you feed me any more, I'll turn into a ball.
Ye Hua: That would be good then. When I take you back to Heaven, I wouldn’t need to fly. I could just roll you all the way to Qingyun Hall.
The actor playing A-li is simply the cutest! And Mark Chao as Ye Hua is a hot papi and a very loving, endearing father! Then at episode 39, prospects of a baby mentioned so innocently & adorably by A-Li had me quoting again:
Ye Hua: Qianqian, why don’t we have one after our wedding?
Bai Qian: I’d be happy to do it, if you’re the one who gets pregnant.
LMAO ROTFL I agree! He can have all my babies too! I share these just to say, this is a series worthy of the tears and angst.

I really liked it and even though some parts had to be shorted or rushed to make it movie length, I barely noticed it. I just wanted more. It left it a opened ended on whether XiaoFan's village brother saw the same thing he saw or whether he would help him in some way by making him completely absent in the big fight scene. After all revenge was his strongest desire, losing in that tournament wasn't all that important since it made it clear, in the end, who potentially was involved in killing their families & their whole village. I was informed that this was the movie version of the series, The Legend of Chusen (青云志), and my enjoyment of this movie has now added that series to my "to watch list." The whole cast did a fantastic job! The visual effects were on point, stylish and classy. There bits of comedy on top of XiaoFan's (Xiao Zhan) sweet, endearing heart and innocence, priceless. If they make a 2nd movie, I'll definitely watch it. Heck, I'm looking forward to it. :) Questa recensione ti è stata utile?
Only just begun
I can't say that a series has started and continues to satisfy it's viewers more than this one has! I'm finding that from the acting, cast chemistry to the sets, nothing but excellent production and effort by all. I'm falling in love with all the couples and all the characters are solid with depth! There's tons of cute moments that just have you smiling and I'm thoroughly loving this series especially with Xuan Ji and Si Feng as the MLs. The secondary couples/characters also draw their own share of love from me. <3 It reminds a little of Ashes of Love but Xuan Ji's actress portrays her well, with well thought out expressions that feel/flows so naturally - you don't feel any disconnect between actress & character when you watch her perform. We get great progression and so far, I'm only on episode 16, nothing seems too rushed. Though for Si Feng, there's a slight shift in the span of 2 episodes earlier on that quickly does away with his language difficulty. It was cute & could have stayed around a little longer. Now back to the series! I hope you enjoy even more than me :)

It's so good! Now, I'm not sure if I'd feel comfortable with Kim Seon-jae (yoon Hyun-min) as a stalker, no matter how hot or cute he is. He admitted in episode 5! But she claimed him 1st lmao!! Questa recensione ti è stata utile?
A nice diverse cast of characters
The start was a little disorienting because we're in a dream but then it became animated... so one of the leads lost me but I got right back on track when I saw my favorite actor! Who came here just to see Saint Suppapong Udomkaewkanjana?! I certainly did and I'm glad to say the acting got better/story progression/drama was a little more solid as I got toward the middle. The apparent plotter of all this was forgotten by me until she showed up later messing around with another couple. She sort of felt not needed, but writers have their reasons. The cast has nice chemistry, some couples just couldn't be focused on or explored because there were so many and a few seemed low-key rushed, but the episodes leading to the end were pretty solid. Rewatch value, will probably be certain episodes. I hope they all keep progressing in their careers <3Questa recensione ti è stata utile?

Interest snagged!
This series is really my cup of tea :) The series should at least have an overall rating of 9, in my opinion. It's a very interesting & unique story so far dealing with a bit of the supernatural, hypnosis & memory loss - all nicely intertwined. There are some semi scary parts, but to me, all done in good taste. I love the early era setting, makes me think about western style steampunk scifi. It has confusing parts but more so with the way they delve into the psyche of Jiang Shuo. They did great with everyone else, but we get exposure to/insight into Jiang Shuo's without notice. Perhaps in later episodes it will be smoother. Maybe a little work on transition... The opening music is addictive and I'm already trying to find the artist/OST! The leading actors have great & adorable chemistry. There are some parts where the acting could use work, but very little of that is needed by the leads. You should watch this series <3Questa recensione ti è stata utile?

The beginning left me wanting something more, but I decided to stick with it. At episode 5, though there are some things lost in translation, I'm loving the fact Ye Xiao Tian (Joe Xu) is showing that while he lacks any real, physical fighting skills (lol) he has a big heart and he's determined to ensure that justice is served & dealt out. Even though he's mischievous, he's still brave enough to face threats when it affects the lives of others. I even love that he admitted he was scared. A truly brave man acknowledges that... I look forward to seeing what else this series has to offer. :)Questa recensione ti è stata utile?
Not what I was expecting
Good to see parts of stories continued but confusing because the original story from season 1 was changed here in season 2. The original story could've remained unchanged, even though they lost Saint as Pete. The changes are annoying but I'm ignoring them to watch how things turn out for Can & Tin. By episode 3, I'll know if I'm sticking aroundLikelihood of rewatching this is already low for me despite the cuteness of Can & handsomeness of Tin. Too many changes *sigh* left me feeling disappointed
