Anime That Should Be Made Into Drama: Part 4
Lucky Star
Now this was the anime that a friend recommended to me, and it started my addiction to anime XD although I can't remember entirely what the series was about all I remember is that its follows the everyday life of a group of female friends at high school. I feel this would be a good live action just because it depicts everyday life of high school girls and what they get up to and the funny friendship moments (just like me and my friends). If it was made into a live action it would be more of a friendship drama. I'm thinking a drama that is only 30 minutes long for each episode so I'd like to see Japan make it; they can do well on their short episode dramas.Azumanga Daioh
This anime, like Lucky Star, is about a group of girls at high school, and their days there. Although, this is a more mature anime in that it has more romance in it and ... the crazy pedo teacher... lol. I just feel that we need to see more dramas on the genre of friendship (like School 2013 bromance), but more with girls. I can't remember the last time I watched a drama that showed the life of high school girls and with a good friendship. Sad to say usually if there are dramas in that genre the girls tend to be mean to one another :(. Which is why I wish to see anime like this adapted. Once again, I'd rather this anime be a 30 minute per episode drama so I'd say Japan again too.DN Angel
I'd like to see this as a drama because I think it's cute and funny how he involuntarily changes into Dark at times. The only thing I had to consider with this anime is the whole angel with wings and the flying around, but I do feel it can be done in a realistic way and not be too corny. I'm unsure what country should make this into a live action or who to cast. What do you guys think?
Gakuen Alice
I loved this anime when I saw it a few years ago. It was one of those really cute and sweet animes where you really felt sorry for the characters. For those who haven't seen the anime, it's about a school for those who are gifted with powers... So its anime X-Men lol... Although there is more of a story to it. A girl ends up trying to get into the school because her best friend goes there, leaving her all alone at home :(. She does get in eventually but finds out that the school is more of a prison than a school and that there are dark secrets and things afoot. What I did find hard to believe about this anime is that most of the main characters were 10 years of age and were dealing with adult like things and had adult like ways of thinking and solving problems. Which is why if made into a live action I feel like the cast could be older - like in their teens - and then perhaps more romance could develop between characters. One thing about this anime is, of course, dealing with the powers that the characters have: some of them are fairly doable like being smart and the ability to talk to animals, it's the other ones like making fire out of nowhere flying etc... that worries me more, but it could be done with good CGI. I personally would like to see Korea give this a go. I feel Taiwan and Japan would make it too much like Power Rangers or Sailor Moon.
My Little Monster
I recently completed this anime and was disappointed with the ending, but overall I did enjoy it. But to me this anime was like Marmite; you will either love it or hate it. What I liked about the anime was the relationship between the main characters in particular the little moments when they rant at each other. What I liked and disliked about the anime is how one minute she likes him and he doesn't like her, but then the next minute he likes her, but she doesn't like him. It was such a push and pull relationship. I also liked this just because in reality relationships can be like that. I liked how it made them not rush into things unlike in most rom-com animes where one admits they like the other and next thing you know they are dating and a month has gone by. Another thing in the anime was the pet chicken and how random the main guy was XD. I also liked how the main female was a strong character and not all weak and flimsy. I'd like to see Korea try to make this one mainly because I think they can be quite good when picking out females to play strong leads/characters. I feel Japan will ruin the character and make her all cutesy.
Hakuoki
This anime to me was great. I love bishonen anime with samurai and set back in time in Japan :). This anime is about a girl who disguises herself as a boy and goes in search of her father whom she hasn't seen for a while. She then comes across some samurai who know her father but also at the same time take her hostage because she saw things she shouldn't have. It turns out later that her father is developing a drug that makes humans inhuman... and I'll leave it there. I don't want to spoil it for you guys. But it is really good and has action combined with romance :). The only thing I had to think about were the demons in this anime. If it were a live action, all they would need is a white wig and lenses to make their eyes red and act all crazy lol. I'd personally like to see Korea or Japan make this into a drama. I feel it would be one of those long ones, maybe about 30-35 episodes.
Hanasakeru Seishounen
I liked this anime a lot too. It's about a young girl who's to marry one of the three men her father has chosen to be suitable for her. So she goes to meet them and chooses. I make it sound boring that way, but it really is interesting. One thing I did find odd about this anime was how much she loved her pet snow leopard. I can understand it being family and loving it that way, but for her to try and find a man with the same features as the leopard I found a little strange. Nonetheless, it would be a pretty good live action, I'm unsure which country should make it though. What do you guys think?Iwatobi Swim Club
Sad to say, I haven't gotten around to watching this anime yet. But based on the amount of people I've seen cosplaying the characters and how people have spoken about it, it's a great anime and everyone wants a live action. I have also heard it's not yaoi, but they seem to tease you... lol. Personally, I'd love to see a load of hot topless guys swimming in a drama :P. This is why I choose Korea to make the live action because lets face it Korea has a lot of hot male actors to fulfil the roles.
A fan made trailer I came across for Swim Club (she's also an awesome editor for Asian dramas in general check out her other videos when you have time).
Now this is the ultimate sweet yaoi anime :). For those who don't like yaoi, you may as well skip this part. I admit I'm not the biggest fan of it, but this anime made me like it more just because it's not just hot guys making out with one another but the sweet cute moments between them :). Now it's not a very common genre in drama land. BL is seen as sort of taboo although there are a few short dramas and specials which do feature BL, so I don't understand why they don't do Junjou Romantica live action. I'm thinking they could do it as a film, although it could be too short. Or they could do 3 specials: each of them showing the 3 different stories' relationships within Junjou Romantica. I'd like to see Korea try BL drama, seeing as I haven't seen one yet. Although I feel like Korea is quite reserved about BL, and they wouldn't make it knowing that it wouldn't go down too well. Japan, on the other hand, has quite a few - lol. They invented yaoi and do have fanbases for BL so maybe Japan should make it.
