Anime That Should Be Made Into Drama: Part 5

Zombie Loan

I really enjoyed this anime, although I felt it was unfinished and too short. Which is why I'm unsure about a live adaptation. I think it would work, but they would need to fill in a few gaps and add a bit more of a story to it. The anime is about a girl who has the ability to see a black ring around peoples' necks which means that they will die very soon. She sees this as a curse until she meets two classmates who have the ring, but seem to live. Turns out they are on a zombie loan... And so the story goes on. If made into  a live action I feel it could be a bit like The Master's Sun in dealing with zombies and that, although I wouldn't be able to watch it - lol - but it would be good :)

Aishiteruze Baby

Now this anime is totally the cutest. It really reminded me of Baby and I, the Korean film with Jang Geun Suk and Mason Moon :). The anime is about a rebel playboy at school who comes home one day to find his relatives debating about what to do with -I think it was - his aunt's daughter. Anyway, in the end it is decided that he should be responsible for the girl in making her lunch, taking her out and getting her to school. In the end a great relationship forms between the two and the guy starts to rebel less and change his playboy ways. There is also another character (a girl at school) who has a romance with him and helps to care for the girl. So the story is quite similar but has more to it and I feel it would make a great drama NOT film. We don't want it to be too short like Baby and I was :( Now for the cast I'm unsure. Though I would like to see a Korean version, just because Korean kids are cute and there are so many great Korean child actors now.

B Gata H Kei

This anime is basically about a high school girl who is desperate to have sex so she sets out on a mission to find an easy guy to do it with but later comes to realize that it's not all about sex and not to hurry it along. I'd like to see this as a live action because it's quite comical in how she thinks and the imaginary spirit which gives her sex advice makes me lol. Plus, I feel the message this drama could portray is lovely too  :). If made into a live action I'd imagine it to be similar and have the same sort of humour as Switch Girl. I'd also like it to be short episodes too, which is why I'd like to see a Japanese live adaptation

Glass Mask

Now I haven't seen this anime and it was already made into a live action back in 1998 I think, but I can't find the videos anywhere or anything about English subs so I don't know how it was :(. But I'd like to see this remade into a drama, mainly because I like the storyline in that a young girl aspires to be an actor and eventually gets there and meets interesting people along the way and learns the harsh reality of showbiz. It kind of makes me think of Skip Beat without the whole wanting to get revenge theme. Personally, I'd like Japan to do the remake seeing as they did the 1998 version.

Elfen Lied

Now this as an anime would be epic, although I'm a wuss when it comes to live action horror and gore. Now if this was to be an anime it would definitely be one of those dark, disturbing ones with slight humour to lighten the mood, but it would be epic if done correctly - as in not poor CGI or gore. But some part of me thinks that they wouldn't make a live action of it purely because of the gore. I mean in anime it would be ok, but as a live action it would probably make even adults feel ill... Well, I would imagine. I'd like to see it more as a film rather than a drama series and I feel it would probably end up being rated 18  :)

Here's a fan made live action of Elfen Lied which is beyond epic.

Kodocha

Another golden oldie anime I remember watching as a child but can't remember the entire storyline. What I do remember is how it's about a young girl who's a child actor and quite arrogant, and then she meets a boy in her class who treats her differently to others (he doesn't worship her) so she becomes quite mean and childish towards him. Eventually they become friends and she finds out he has some dark secrets. What I loved about this anime is how it looks like a younger version of Marmalade Boy characters XD If made into a live action I'd imagine it would be one of those family dramas with romance and comedy rather than just a rom-com. I'd like to see Korea try this anime because, like I said before, they have so many talented young child actors lately.

NANA

I loved the anime series and when I heard there was a live action my dream came true, although I admit I was sad that it was only a 2 part film :(. Although the film was great, the music, casting, acting all were great, I just would rather have had a drama series. If made into a live action I would like to have the same cast as the film and of course made by Japan again, although a Korean or Taiwanese version would be pretty good too and maybe offer a fresh perspective.

Princess TuTu

This too was a great anime and although I feel perhaps a bit old for it now, I loved it at the time. The story of a duck who became a girl to do ballet and save her prince... Hard to sum this up without any spoilers, so I'll leave it there, but what I really loved about this anime was how many twists and turns and secret plots it has, which is why it would make a great drama adaptation. It would really keep the viewer interested. But sadly there is once again the CGI. I mean she transforms into Princess Tutu. Although it is fairly doable - just a costume change with a flash of light could work - it's more the whole idea of another universe controlled by a man and also her being a duck and transforming from human to duck. It could be doable again as there isn't a whole Sailor Moon kind of transformation, but more of a ‘poof’ and now she's a duck thing. What I liked about the anime was the relationship between characters and how they developed. I also liked the whole idea that they were in a book and the whole fairy tale theme to it. Another thing about this drama are the whole ballet and dance routines. I mean the anime is based on ballet and it's a main theme so if adapted into a live action, the actors would need to be good at ballet. It's doable too. Heck, even the strange teacher cat could be done—you could just get an actor who resembles a cat to play the role :)

‘YOU WILL HAVE TO MARRY ME’

Those who have seen Princess Tutu will know that line XD

And now here's an awesome fan made MV for you, although if you haven't seen the anime it does contain a few spoilers.

And finally...

Uta No Prince Sama

So this anime is about a girl who goes to a musical school where you train to be a singer/dancer or a composer/songwriter for singers. She is a sweet and innocent girl from the countryside who was raised by her granny (so you can tell how she'll be). Then the time comes where students have to pair up, song writer with a singer. She asks a few guys instead of one, and so they break the rules and form a group of singers with one composer. And of course, all the guys have a thing for the main girl. It's quite a cute anime and I like the songs and theme of music school. I love dramas that involve music schools, which is why I think this would go well, I'd like to see Taiwan give this genre a try and see what they do with it.
