excellent, though you can see the ropes

The word for this is HOT... The two ML's are hot together, end of. If you are looking for something more abt this drama, like villains or conflict or anything - there is not much to it. It's just one - or even two! - gay couples that come up with hot stuff, and thats it! We have role-play, innuendo, teasing, flirting, naked bodies - and i mean, ripped bodies!, power struggle - you name it.
Oh and there is also some comedic relief to the sexual tension... I guess the director was afraid to handle the 18+ content in a mature way so he turned to this trick instead.
Rewatch? Why not? Its funny and... wink wink. Sex sells!

plain boring

I personally dont have anything against "weird" japanese dramas, since this seems to be their trademark... In fact, i kinda embrace weird things! BUT - and here comes a big BUT - japanese dramas lately seem to be weird the wrong way! Like, weirdly boring, or weirdly poor script, or something like that. I feel quite frustrated abt that - since you decided to be different, just do it bravely! So, this RECENT release doesnt seem to add much to the drama-landscape, but its not that bad either. I hesitate calling it mediocre, though im afraid thats just the word to describe it. I mean, you bring up an asexual guy, then he turns out to be gay... but no reflection or self-awareness at all? Are we earthworms? Our two protagonists hug each other to sleep, but they have trouble holding hands or something? Also, everybody is an impersonation of weird - weird hair-style, weird social skills, weird career path etc. I honestly suspect they try to impose on me some weird beauty standards.
Watch it as an alternative to older japanese dramas...

too many twists to hold up together

I dont wanna spoil it for the viewers, but i definitely feel like this series played with the SHOCKING factor too much. Like, did the audience rating drop? No probs, we add something new that no one expects!
It starts pretty boring and clumsy, i fast-forwarded through the 1st episode, then it all became quite clear, with a lot of remarkable graphic violent but still cinematographic scenes and a lot of interesting problematic characters... Then the tension kept building to the point of exploding... Then? The action took a weird course, like - let's give the viewers a scare so they keep watching!! For me, the screenwriter and the director pushed their luck too far, to the point it became incredulous.
Otherwise, i do appreciate the original plot, the acting skills of the cast, the detail-orientated cinematography etc.
Still i think it could've been way more rounded.

it makes you ask yourself a lot of questions

I'm still watching it - but i feel like it's already meaningful... I read spoilers and reviews though, so im not an "innocent" watcher! It is surely worth watching, it says a lot abt loneliness, sadness, and mother love and survival... Even for people who dont usually fall for these topics, it still conveys a lot! The actors look too good if you ask me - i shrink from commercial things, and unnecessary beauty is one of them. But i'm still easy to fool, so these beautiful faces grew up on me.
I read abt this film being "realistic" - it certainly is, but drama-realistic, not docu - realistic. The art factor added to it is obviously important.
It's such an expressive movie that it makes me dig up ideas and feelings that havent crossed my mind in a long time. If this is not a proof of its value - than what is it??
Highly recommended.

here comes the shining knight

This is really endearing and fluffy... Dont bother abt logic much! Everyone is a young successful professional, even hardships are there just to be challenged etc. Coincidences are TOO MUCH: in the big China, what chances are to bump into the same guy at work place, sleeping place, leisure place... over and over again (im saying it for the second couple as well)??
The young actors are totally eye candy and pleasant watch. Still the FL being so short while the ML is so tall looks cringey af. Why do the ML's have to be the tallest in dramas? Is this really what matters? Also the FL is not the best choice out there. The SFL is all abt exposing legs while pretending not to care. Yeah, we are dumb!
The trope of "fate created during childhood" doesnt appeal much to me... But perhaps some other watchers like it!? For god's sake, my life totally moved on, im NOT looking for a sweetheart from kindergarten! I WAS NOT a hero at 9 yrs, does this mean i'm not loveable??
The ML is hot - but dont get carried away, there is little to zero skinship... It's all abt teasing and flirting.
These being said, its totally relaxing and fluffy. Not dropping it (yet).

packed with tropes

I've just started to watch this despite the series being kinda old... And i gotta say it's more like a teens' thing.
Totally - and i mean TOTALLY - unrealistic and packed with tropes! Just saying, we have Cinderella, then her secret adorer - played by the ever so excellent Chris Wu, then here comes the troubled, traumatic Prince Charming, acting like the bad boy who just awaits a gentle loving soul to tame him... And of course he is not just misunderstood, but also rich, showing up in a Porsche! No doubt, the poor orphan piano-lover Cinderella will be the object of dispute for the two handsome male leads, for being so irresistibly pretty and innocent and kind-hearted - right??
Watching this as a filler, feel free to recommend me anything.

this is a dirty manga

When two HANDSOME guys get employed at a new company, they randomly obsess over the ugly girl to use and abuse. She gets to sleep with both of them without much bother - being somehow retarded, because to be a wh*re would take more of a personality - and maybe some good-looks, which she totally lacks. Professionally she is still excellent (seriously??). But the pretty girl in the company gets angry for being left aside and tries to interfere. The ex-gf also comes into picture. This is what i get from this popcorn miniseries...
The ML has a fetish for public sex, he is always ready and lustful. The SML is not far from this either. They must have been trapped on a desert island before running into the FL! Oh, and they all visit the SAME bar - and the bar is ALWAYS empty, not even one customer beside our characters!!
... It totally reminds me of Dori and his smut characters. Kisses are hot too!
As they say, it's so bad that it's good.

another fluffy chinese romcom

Very timeless romance, and i say it not as a compliment... It's certainly not modern enough for being aired in 2024! I enjoyed it without skipping much, in-between other dramas, BUT it's totally NOT something you can take seriously. The ML and FL look good and are funny enough for a light-hearted series, the topic is there, decent job etc.
Packed with tropes though, to the point that some are bothersome. What chances are that the young aspiring FL lawyer gets to share "by accident" a rent house with her famous ML boss? Also it comes out that their parents are ex-colleagues? Add to this that everyone - and i mean EVERYONE - in this drama is young and single? Except for the two pairs of parents, of course. Fake problems appear too - the ML is overprotective while the FL is too upright etc. Both sisters suffer from being called LadyBoss... REALLY?? Can i suffer with you??
My personal objection is also to the MANY ENDLESS outfits the FL is wearing... How come a young aspiring average lawyer can afford to be sooo sooo fashionable? And another personal objection to chinese dramas - everyone looks ANOREXIC, to the point that the FL is described as weighing 40 kg to a height of 1.66m!! Come again??
Just put your brain at rest and enjoy!

is this a joke?

Nothing to complain abt acting, but the plot is so immature, like a high-schooler's diary. Everything seems to take place in the family's living-room... It must be very low budget! Conveniently the ML gets paired with the adopted sibling, and the real sibling falls for the only family friend and also business partner. Just a drama abt 4 people! Not to mention they are all rich & famous, after rising from rags due to being genius or something! The ML becomes an IT graduate and businessman as an orphan while raising two younger siblings. The adopted brother is also a top student. The "dumb" sister becomes a well-known actress over night etc. The setting for this is literally an average house, too big to be realistic as an orphans' house, and too small for 3 accomplished adults.
Some side actions and characters are unnecessary, like the handsome doctor and the second fight with the gangsters.
This mini drama is saved by the excellent actors - special mention to the child actors!
Just watching out of boredom.

it's got everything BUT romance!

This one is really entertaining... hardly a dull moment now and then! It has everything viewers could wish for - handsome actors and actresses, action, twists, comedy, melodrama... The balance between comedy and tragedy is unbeatable! The pace is good, fighting scenes got excellent choreography, actors are flawless! The ML and the FL are both gorgeous... BUT everyone in this drama is single and lonely! I admire the fact that the priest was all along true to his calling and never ever swayed, BUT how can no one in this drama have a family or at least some slight romantic interest??
As most watchers previously noticed, the funniest thing is Father Kim getting angry: he throws a fit, breaks things and beats people left and right! The female prosecutor is also good (on my new favourites list)! And the villains are totally charismatic!
This being said, it's still one of the best dramas out there, period.

keeps me entertained!

I came to this after scrolling through a lot of boring & cliche dramas... Well, not the reputed ones - because i must've seen them all by now! So, i just stumbled on this, and here i am - totally ENCHANTED by the dynamics and actors!
It surely is far from perfect, but at least it's something new, i mean - crazy new. And the plot & characters are so engaging! Even though i can clearly see the weak spots of this drama, i will continue watching it for now!! The comments i read so far dont do it justice, since you dont have to be so strict on this romcom combined with melodrama!
If i were to have an objection? Here it comes: The two women are way too similar, not only in looks, but character too! It also becomes creepy for the ML... Shouldnt the second FL have something to her own, besides being uneducated?? SMH
Side note: i confess i watched it on fast forward way too often, but - if you have time - all small talk is really nice. It's just that i hardly ever enjoy slow pace dramas... My bad : (
I dont know abt rewatch, but for now it's so smooth on the eyes!

How is this a 10?

Dear watchers, sorry to disappoint, there is NO WAY i would give this a ten - ever. It's certainly NICE all in all, nice faces, nice settings, good conflict, a lot of drama, details on point too... BUT it's really REALLY way too cliché, even actors' faces bring nothing new, they just fall into a pattern of beauty standards! The ML is handsome, but totally undistinguishable from other actors in the drama land... About the plot? The handsome CEO falls for a working-class woman, but things come in-between them... You saw this a million times before, right? Not to mention that FAKE vibe most lakorns give off, when all characters wear super fashionable wrinkle-free clothes and a super white smile and are super talented/successful in their field of work!!
About the GIRL IN DEBT trope? I forgot how many times i came across this... Please, is this a 21st century movie?
So... If you dont set your expectations too high and just wanna enjoy a typical lakorn while your brain takes some rest - this is the one to go for!
