For a show like this, where appearances are a main factor, it was executed really strangely. She's supposed to be really pretty and also noticeably worked on (uncanny-valley territory) but she's neither. She definitely isn't ugly and she doesn't look overdone like the show is trying so hard to portray. So the intention falls flat, none of the casts' reaction to her make sense, she's an average girl with a slightly off nose if anything. She also (no offense) looks her age. That isn't a bad thing at all, but she didn't look like a just graduated high-school student at all.
Looks aside, the acting is what made me want to throw myself into a wall. I'm not sure if Cha Eun Woo can't act or if the script told him to act like he constantly has a stick in his ass and has been emotionally repressed since birth. He did not have the range for this role, and I want to give him the benefit of the doubt; however, he made me so mad I subconsciously avoid his works now. Pairing him with Im Soo Hyang was like making a mayo sandwich of un-toasted white-bread. Bland. I do think this is a case of bad writing though. There was really no plot to work with here and that did not help the actors make this work. Eun Woo had more emotions as a character though so I'll give him a 5 out of 10 personally
If they made this drama into 8-10 episodes and cut out all the childish antics, maybe it would've been better. I had a hard time watching these two adults with NO chemistry force themselves to fall in love. Though, since it seems people enjoyed it, give it a chance. You'll know pretty quickly if it's your style.

so...you did all that for what?
this was a strange one. i watched it purely because i like park min young and i've never seen seo kang joon act. i wasn't necessarily disappointed since i had no expectations, but it was just too boring for my tastes. i watched it less than a week ago but i feel like i can't remember anything other than beating around the bush.it's a very cute story but i think i'm too gruesome or something. i expected his sister to get kidnapped since they kept on showing her riding at night. i quickly learned that this is just a cute drama about a small town love. that being said, even though it's cute...it's kinda not that great. park min young was cute and great, that's what we expect from her, but the plot didn't offer much. it just didn't offer much. her family dynamic was so whatever that that's how i felt eventually
slice of life to the bone. give it a try if you like love. they seem to do that
i will say that they did a good job casting the mom and aunt. those actresses looked identical and i kept on getting them mixed up. so yay, they look related. i just think it's interesting how much everyone said they're beautiful when the mom looked kinda...average (maybe a lil botched)?

Every episode was full of tension and Jang Eui Su served. In fact, he not only did the grocery shopping, he went ahead and prepared a full-course meal. That man fed us and nobody can convince me other wise. His acting is phenomenal and I think Han Gi Chan held his own in his own way. Truly, Jang Eui Su made everyone seem a little mediocre soooo. I would recommend if you want to relive the exhilaration of your first crush/gf/bf. I can't stress enough how well this was shot, directed, and portrayed for such a short series. I hope Korea does more content like this is in the future. There is a Korean boy/girl feeling validated somewhere and I'm happy for them.
My only gripe is that I wish each episode was a little longer, though I also feel that it was executed perfectly within the time frame given.

stop treating me like i'm stupid
there are many things to be said but this drama isn't worth the breath. i'll admit i was hooked initially, but i quickly got over that upon realizing that this drama was gonna play me like i can't form a logical thought. there are a lot of plot holes. like, A LOT.after a while, i just had to shut off my brain and try not to think to deeply. i hope the screenwriters sit in on a workshop because this show was not so great.
i felt a lot of things while watching it but i don't even got it in me to express. don't waste your time on this. there are better ways to waste 10 hours.

i gained nothing
i binged watched this whole drama in like two days and i don't know how to feel about that. admittedly, i was high for 80% of the show but even then it was a chore to get through. at least once per episode i found myself sighing like, "why are you crying again?" girl...what was this? this was my first drama with park bo gum and i get why he's popular, he put his heart into acting this subpar script, but chile... he could only do so much.i'll admit i started to watch it without reading the synopsis because i like surprises, but i went into it not knowing and i left not knowing. i really had to start skipping lil 10 second clips because it was so boring lol. i respect the whole romance thing but something about their love felt off. Idk if it's because song sun kyu is married to her fine ass husband, but i can't believe the chemistry between them. they had me like, "no but WHY do ya'll love each other? it's been maybe a month." i was more invested in the side couple's love, i would've watched them flirt.
i can't even say that i'd recommend you watch it. i gained no happy feelings from it. i didn't even cry because i couldn't get emotionally invested in the story when they ended up breaking up at least twice an episode. the music actually wasn't bad but god, GOD do i hate that damn english song. it's so bad. i kept on getting distracted by the lyrics every emotional scene. "oHh tAke mE On dOWn by ThE rIvER"
i will say that park bo gum carried that last break up scene. they had that man sobbing lmfao. it got a whole additional star for acting just because he made me feel something.

I'm keeping this short. This was my first full length BL series and I'm pretty disappointed. I often wonder about the director's vision. I'm not sure how the actors were told to act, but I can't imagine they were told to act like this was their first high-school performance. I can't describe how bad the MLs are at acting. Chris is obviously better, but not by much. I suppose the director wanted them to be over-exaggerated, but it was too much for me. The only actors I enjoyed were the dad roles (and Kenny because he was cute). Maybe because they're older; but at least something was there. Speaking of dad roles, I really want us to end the narrative that forcing/badgering a partner to speak to their parents is a 'helpful, loving' thing to do. Shao Fei was so quick to suggest meeting up when Tang Yi probably needed time and therapy.I understand that dramas are 'dramatizations' of real life. Yes, that's clear. That being said, why did they take the route to portray their police force as caricatures of stereotypes? In the first episode, they burst in guns a'blazing and that's fine for a raid, but then Shao Fei holds Tang Yi at gunpoint??? Excuse me...officer (he does this twice)? I'm not sure what Shao Fei did so well that made it okay for him to disregard the rules of his job, but I didn't see it.
I would like to mention Jack and Zhao Zi(?) before I end. Jack did not pass the vibe check. He's our resident king of manipulation. To this day I don't know what his true role was and why he wasn't persecuted by Tang Yi, the bad guy, or Interpol. Jack snaking his way into Kenny's life is supposed to be charming and it is at first; but, it quickly becomes creepy and pushy.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend it if you're into more serious dramas. This is more lighthearted than anything. And that would be fine if the story and acting were good, but they should've picked a struggle. I don't remember the music so I suppose it was unoffensive.

I created an account to write this review. The frustration I felt whilst watching this show made me want to cry (i did). I have NEVER felt the anger that I felt towards Jin-a’s mother like I have before.I’m still struggling to understand why they wrote the mother to be the most insufferable character in the world. I felt like she was going to give me heartburn. The actress really played the part because I just wanted her to get her shit rocked. They were too polite, like sometimes you gotta commit murder; it’s the law.
That being said, initially this drama started out super cute. Jun-hui is obviously more into her than she is into him and it’s refreshing. I really liked how in the beginning, episode was unpredictable. They would throw drama and plot twists after plot twists in the middle of an episode which is innovative. I just don’t know how everything can go wrong in a drama.
I can really write a whole essay on which this drama gave me indigestion, but I will leave with this. The ONLY redeeming quality of this drama is the acting. The actors/actresses had a piss poor plot to work with and they made the most of it. I think every body in the show played their part well, they just weren’t written well lol.
I’m still mad I put almost 20 hours into this show. The weak plot and whole 3 songs really can go swan dive off a balcony.

I'm not sure how to put what I'm feeling into words, but I'll try. I decided to watch this drama after quickly reading the synopsis and seeing that the rating is pretty high (Viki). I immediately realized what type of drama it would be within 5 minutes of starting the show, but I decided to persist because the plot seemed interesting. The sound effects and 'comedic' editing told me all I needed to know. I've survived 2012-14 K-dramas and several Taiwanese dramas, this isn't my first rodeo. They describe the MFL as 'quirky'... that's a funny way of spelling insufferable. I do understand that they're all supposed to be 18 and relatively immature but, the antics between the leads are more like preteens bickering than young adults. I'd like to think that that is bad writing (though, the acting was also...). They chose to write her in as ditzy and naive, but also amazing at examining corpses(and crime scenes??). I'm not sure how this leads to her becoming a pseudo criminal investigator. I genuinely said aloud to myself, "What is going on? What's happening?" whilst watching her turn into Sherlock Holmes. The criminals were also so willing and ready to confess to being murderers like damn. Did she ride the Mystery van to the scene? I've only seen that level of honesty in Scooby Doo, Side note but I would like to say the moment I saw Leimo I said, "That's a guy." (if the actor/actress is trans however, I'm really sorry).
Moving on, this show had Sailor Moon/Hannah Montana level of disguises. It was actually funny/insulting. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a good gender-bend drama, but at least they mention how feminine the person looks. In this drama, the second male lead goes through a Mulan type of sexual assessment. The music video was one of three scenes that got a genuine laugh from me. The other two being when they threw the girl from the bridge and the armpit scene.
Now knowing that the show is not meant to be too serious, I can ignore many things. What I can't ignore however, is the flute scene with Xuewei. I was in shock they thought they could get away with a solid piece of wood. I just want to know what was the budget; why couldn't they afford a faux flute (my doctor gave me one as a reward when I behaved in visits, I know it isn't hard)? I was just so offended, I paused in disbelief.
I'm going to end it here before I write an essay. I almost finished this drama. I was determined to, but I know how it's going to end lmao. I don't have it in me to sit through four more episodes and witness the clownery. That being said, it seems that others enjoyed this. So if you're into corny/cheesy dramas, I'd recommend. Also, the music slapped. Straight bangers alone, especially when Leimo played/sang.

we half-assed that ending huh?
Let me start my saying that I decided to watch this strictly for Lee Joon Gi. Alright, now that y'all know what type of girl I am, let's continue. This drama? Wasn't horrible. What was horrible? That ending.I won't say too much, but they had a really solid plot to work with. That's why I'm so disappointed that the end played out in the manner it did. I can't believe I sat through murder plots just to see the villain not even be tried in the very place she had power. They spent so much time, with the side characters and everyone's motivation that I didn't even get to have a satisfying ending.
Ignoring the ending though, the drama actually wasn't that bad. It was a bit corny at times and everything didn't have a resolution, but it wasn't horrible. It felt like a parody at times.
I will mention that I didn't really see any chemistry between the leads other than friendship. I don't get why they were in love lol. I know they said it, but I don't see how they got 7 from 2 + 2. I must've been too high because this drama feels like a fever dream.
Give it a try, it had action so maybe you won't be as bored.

Put Your Head on My Shoulder

I absolutely love the MFL, it's the first time a drama has made a female lead that doesn't do the absolute most yet nothing at all. Her reactions made sense and she stood up for herself. Yes, she had her moments of jumping to conclusions but it wasn't over the top. They also dressed her like she loves herself and I had to stan. I get so tired of c-dramas dressing their female leads in the ugliest clothes. That height gap did it for me. I actually think Momo was one of the best written characters in the show. Followed closely by Shan Shan.
Gu Weiyi was a weird one but it was nice to see the male lead pursue the girl first. Him being so clumsy in love was endearing. I will admit, I doubted him but he surprised me a few times in the show. I was, I'll admit it, swooned. He loved to pick her up like a little doll :((((. All I gained from this was a lonely heart.
Now this show had an inconsistency that was the weather. I was really confused toward the season that this was all happening in. Momo always wears shorts, t-shirts, sneakers, etc., but there's a scene where it snows suddenly. I'm just confused about the weather in China. Is it that inconsistent? I just couldn't follow the time flow when the weather flip flopped. I never knew how much time had passed.
That being said, I really enjoyed this show. It left me with good feelings all around. I think it's a simple, sweet, and cute drama to pass the time. I do agree with the other comments that this drama didn't have much plot, but I think that was okay for this one. Sometimes, life isn't that dramatic.
