2023 was not that bad with My Dearest !!

Where do I even start?? I started many dramas from 2023 and 2024, and either I put them on hold, or I was so disappointed. This one is an exception. Maybe it's because it has just 10 episodes, but those 10 episodes were worth every single minute.

The cinematography, production, and aesthetics were outstanding. Even though it was set during wartime, the locations were beautiful and calming.
The plot was amazing, and I was never bored. Each character added depth to the drama, showing what Joseon was like at that time—people’s beliefs, how women were taught, and how they should act during war.

Gil Chae and Jang Hyun were the exceptions to the rule; they were a match made in heaven. They had different beliefs and perspectives on life, not caring about what others thought of them.

Goong Min was the actor that pushed me to start this drama. He's one of my favorite actors and just knows his stuff. I can't imagine anyone else playing this character; it was made for him. His interactions with Gil Chae were so sweet—always teasing her, promising her, searching for her, finding her, helping her, and protecting her!

The songs that Ryang Eum sang were just so mesmerizing! They're stuck in my head.

As expected, the end of this part was dramatic, with the main leads having to separate. They added that last scene with the bounty hunter, making us wonder if he would fall for another woman.

I stumbled upon this through reels and realized how much I missed Lee Jong Suk. Plus, I've never seen him act alongside Park Bo Young, so I thought, why not give it a shot??

The plot unfolded pretty much as expected: Joong Gil, the school's "playboy," trying to charm every beautiful girl in sight, while Young Sook, the leader of a gang?, was a surprising twist.
It's the first time I've seen her in such a role, but she pulled it off well. You could see from her expression that she was a broken soul, beyond repair. Surprisingly, she harbored a not-so-secret crush on Joong Gil.
But it wasn’t that superficial, the story line showed us detailed informations about their routines, their environnement, and the silliness of Lee Jong Suk trying his tricks on girls.

I didn't expect anything WOOW, so I wasn't disappointed. It was silly, funny, lively, and gave off a nostalgic vibe. I particularly enjoyed the old-school feel, with scenes of them traveling by train, and Kim Young Kwang's portrayal of the gangster reminded me of Darren Wang??.

The romantic plot could have been better; I wished to see more depth in terms of emotions and feelings. But overall, it fit my mood perfectly.

Best time loop I've ever seen!!

This is hands down the best time loop drama I've ever seen. Not a single dull moment; I was hooked from the beginning, but what truly kept me glued was the resolution. How would everything unfold in the end?

The plot was compelling, delving into the origins of the time loop, the events that triggered it, and how the main leads would approach it as detectives. Their bravery and intelligence in tackling the case were remarkable. I particularly appreciated their methodical approach—identifying suspects, verifying their stories, and unraveling the mysteries one by one. The evolution of their strategies from the initial discovery of the problem was impressive, and their relentless pursuit of a solution kept the story engaging.

Bai Jing Ting and Zhao Jin Mai, the main leads, delivered stellar performances. Their teamwork was seamless, and every supporting actor contributed effectively, adding depth to the plot.

Despite not being in the mood for dramas initially, I still enjoyed it, although perhaps not to the fullest. Nevertheless, it was undeniably worth the watch and time invested. The cherry on top was the satisfying happy ending!

In summary, a must-watch with a captivating plot, solid performances, and a resolution that hits all the right notes

The legend never ends!!

Kenshin met his master, and I never thought he was still alive. Don't ask me why I killed the man, but well, Kenshin had to learn a new technique to defeat his enemies. However, to do that, he had to confront his own problems, and with the help of his master, he did it.

Kaoru survived, no surprise there. Obviously, the first thing she does after waking from her sleep is follow Himura. As if he doesn't have enough problems, Aoshi is trying to kill him. For what? The title of "the strongest." Kenshin needs to preserve his energy to take down Shishio and his skilled friend, not deal with this. But it seems it had to be done for Aoshi to have a new start.

Sagara Sanosuke was awesome — funny, always helping, and never giving up. And Seta Sojiro, with that damn smile on his face, fighting like it's nothing. No feelings, detached, stubborn; felt like he was a robot. At the end, he shut down when an 'error' occurred.

The final battle between Kenshin and Shishio didn’t feel like a fight, more like a graceful sword dance. It was entertaining seeing more join and gang up on Shishio, but he was still breathing fire. Fujiwara Tatsuya was the best — his acting, the bandages they put on him; he portrayed the most evil character excellently.

Overall, the movie was way better than the first two, very exciting and all. But the female characters felt like they were lacking, missing the feminine touch that should have been brought to the movie. Still, it's my favorite from the Rurouni Kenshin Saga till now. Got 2 more to go, and we'll see!

Wish there was more?

I don't watch movies a lot, but I decided to remedy that by downloading several.
Didn’t know from where to start, I choose this one featuring Vivian Sung, a particularly funny actress who never fails to make me laugh.

The movie begins with an adult Truly, the perfect ordinary office worker, overhearing her colleagues mocking her. She goes home and discovers an old book from her high school days, and suddenly, our beloved Vivian Sung appears as the young Truly. The entire movie unfolds as a flashback of her youth, allowing us to understand how she navigated high school as an ordinary girl, not particularly studious, with two best friends, a crush on Andy Lau, and an interest in Ouyang, the school's most popular guy.

The movie was a cliché, but oddly I didn’t mind it at all. While every element seemed familiar from old series or movies, I watched it as if I had never encountered the plot before. It was really funny as expected, and I wasn’t bored at all.

The main leads were really cute together, they had great chemistry and I enjoyed how their friendship developed—studying together, going out together, taking on missions, skating together, you name it. It really made me nostalgic for high school vibes.

Overall, it was a good movie, well worth the time. The positive vibes left me with a sense of satisfaction, and I have no regrets about watching it.

Started this with many questions. Is it a fantastic movie? Will she be turning 17 after eating something or smelling something?

It began with Liang, leading a “perfect” life. She wakes up before her boyfriend to look beautiful, weighs herself to check if she's in shape, and prepares breakfast—all narrated by her, emphasizing how she’s been doing this for 3656 days. But today was different because she thought her boyfriend would propose. It was a misunderstanding, though, so in rebellion, she pulls out the snacks and starts eating while watching TV.

That's when she sees the advertisement for The Lifetime chocolate...

When she eats the chocolate, her mind reverts to her 17-year-old self. She discovers she's been in a relationship for 10 years and never painted or studied in France as she once dreamed. So, she starts doing whatever she wants for 5 hours, then returns to being 28-year-old Liang, with her best friend watching over her.

The plot was surprisingly not that bad. The dynamic between her present self and her 17-year-old self was entertaining—they bicker because they're opposites but learn to compromise and help each other. However, they can't both live: each loves a different man, one enjoys her youth and the thrill of life, while the other struggles with a 10-year relationship. One paints with passion, the other struggles to find that passion again. It's as if her 17-year-old self came to wake her up, saying, "This is not what we wanted. We are the same person. We have to change, we have to thrive. It's never too late."

Even though I guessed the ending, I couldn’t stop watching. It couldn’t have ended any other way.

So yeah! Because I enjoyed the movie, it was funny, light, and the surprise of finding Darren Wang was a treat. I’m giving it an 8.5/10.

"Death Game" is a really good idea. It was different, and for me, it’s the first time watching a plot with this concept: "Life was given by God, so it should be taken by Him and only Him." Maybe when you commit suicide, you think it will only affect you because the life was yours, but there are always consequences.

I enjoyed the plot very much, despite a few boring scenes here and there. The thriller aspect kept me going, and I was constantly curious about how he would save himself each time. The cast was amazing, with many actors portraying Seo In Guk’s character, and they did a great job conveying the emotions.

The continuity of the stories was well done. Even though his soul went into different bodies, each living their own life, there was always a common thread, and we got to see what happened after their “death.” It was very interesting!

Kill Time

What a captivating start!
Jeon Do Yeon surprised me with her fighting skills and her dual identity, a top-notch killer and a single mom. It's quite a contrast from her role in "Crash Course in Romance," where she played a kind aunt. Not that she's unkind here; I found her character to be very human, despite all the victims she's dealt with.

The plot was decent; I wasn't bored, but I didn't feel fully immersed either.
It felt like we were watching two separate stories—the one about the MK organization and Boksoon dealing with her teenage daughter.
However, the ending felt a bit lacking?. There were many loose ends about MK that were left unresolved, and I doubt there will be a season 2, not that it's really necessary.

I enjoyed the fighting scenes, even if I've seen better.??
Overall, I liked the whole cast, and there were many actors that I missed seeing. The production was solid, making it a fine movie to kill time with.

What did I just watch? I was in the mood for something cliché, with a mix of romance and comedy, and seeing Vivian Sung on the cast list always brings a smile to my face. So, I figured, why not? I already knew the male lead from "Go Ahead," and he's a solid actor.

The movie started off okay, with the typical setup: the male lead as a nerdy guy with braces, and the female lead as a bubbly, carefree soul. But then, they threw in this forced misunderstanding?, and I was like, really? Still, the humor kept me going.

However, things took a weird turn with the line, "As long as we're at China Eastern, you are my girlfriend." I was here for the romance, but it felt forced and awkward after that. The storyline lacked depth, and the character development was lacking.

There were no sparks between the leads, but I managed to finish it without feeling tortured.

Avec des si on refait le monde

Just where do I begin?
I was confused at the start, and that confusion stuck with me till the end. This was a recommendation, so I went in blind – no idea what it was about, and I don't like reading synopses. They can spoil the fun, you know?

This movie wasn't anything like I expected. It was poetic?! The cinematography was very different, almost like they give you some clips and tell you to let your imagination run wild. It was slow, silent, and reddish!!

A slow burn, kind of boring, but not in a negative way – it's hard to explain. Silent because there wasn't a ton of dialogue; we just watched them act with music in the background, very mesmerizing!! And reddish, for aesthetic reasons, giving it a hot vibe.

So, it's about two lonely married people being cheated on by each other's spouses. They discover this as they live next door. They become close, and what their relationship could be named, I don't really know – friends, lovers, absolutely not, maybe an association for cheated-on people? They were just two lonely individuals keeping each other company and trying to understand how it led to this. Obviously, they slowly fall in love.

Now, the end left me very confused because I had so many questions!! But still, the movie was brilliant. I did get the idea of 'Missed opportunities' and the 'Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps.

Kyoto Nightmare

Shishio, another assassin, struggled to adapt to the new era. A formidable rival to Kenshin, he turned Kyoto into a nightmare, orchestrating killings and plotting against the government. Naturally, they had to call Kenshin for help once again.

This second movie felt similar to the first for me, but with a cliffhanger ending. As expected, the fight scenes were spectacular, and the villain even more menacing than before.

Overall, I'd rate it 8.5/10

From episode 1 to 16, this series had me captivated from the beginning to the end.

From episode 1 to 16, this series had me captivated from the beginning to the end.
It kept my mind busy and active, throwing unexpected twists and revelations that constantly surprised me. The story was gripping, exceeding my expectations for a thriller-mystery.
The cast delivered outstanding performances, portraying their characters perfectly.

One accident brook hell loose, unfolded with numerous misunderstandings and secrets surfacing after 21 years. An accident that wrecked families with no way back, some died and some kept carrying the burden.

From where to start??

Shin Ha Kyun as “Dong Shik”, my first time seeing his work and it was worth it, he delivered a performance that left me speechless, a broken, mad man, with nothing left to lose, with sole purpose, solving his sister’s case.
Han Ju Won a righteous inspector with a sense of duty, and justice. His transformation from a rigid Seoul inspector to a more grounded and realistic one was a fascinating evolution. He changed completely, knowing there was more to the case than what he thought.

The bromance between the two main leads added a compelling dynamic, shifting from initial animosity to a partnership that proved highly effective. The rest of the cast, both the "good" and "evil" characters, contributed excellently to the narrative.

The series evoked strong emotions, and while the ending left me teary-eyed, I wished for more. Having been on my PTW list for a long time, it was truly worth the wait and time invested.

Forensic pathology is work for the future!

As a newcomer to Japanese dramas, Unnatural was definitely worth a try. It doesn't just get into the medical and forensic stuff but also digs into mystery and investigation.
Being a medical drama addict, I found the abundance of information fascinating. Were they asking me to take notes, cuz I was about to do it!! This was my first experience with a forensic-focused show, and I was genuinely amazed. It went beyond just determining the cause of death; each episode presented a standalone story about the victims and their lives, making it emotionally moving.
The cast was refreshingly portrayed, with Dr. Mikoto Misumi laughing off everything, emphasizing that there's no time to despair. I admired her intelligence.
Nakado-sensei, always wearing the 'Don't speak to me' face, investigating his girlfriend case, with the mysterious killer and the surprising resolution, had me hooked. Kube, the part-timer always ready to help, Shoji, the crazy friend, and Director Kamikura, always supportive, formed a cohesive team thriving in UDI, which felt like their home.
In fact, I believe the series left me wanting more. I truly hope for a second season or perhaps they could turn it into a saga, as unnatural deaths just don't seem to end.

Bloody, Lonely, Cold, Foreigner, Sad, Hungry…

For the first hour of the movie, I was completely absorbed, watching Loh Kiwan navigate life as a North Korean immigrant in Belgium. Eyes wide open, I tried to catch any information that would explain why he escaped China. I went in blind, avoiding the synopsis because they tend to spoil my fun or mess with my expectations. All I knew was that Song Joong Ki played the role of a broken man trying to survive—survive his sadness, his loss, and the harshness of life.

Then she appeared—the main lead—a little thief who stole his wallet, the last memento from his mother. The plot was “good,” though sometimes slow. It tackled the significant subject of immigration and the lengths people go to for a better life, as well as the individual stories behind each immigrant.

However, the female lead's story overshadowed this focus. More attention should have been on Loh Kiwan's journey. Their love story felt rushed, as if key moments between them were missing. They couldn’t have fallen in love over just a silent meal.

Song Joong Ki did a fantastic job, portraying every emotion convincingly and being sweetly kind. However, the representation of the locals was poor, possibly to emphasize Loh Kiwan’s suffering, but still lacking.

In conclusion, it could have been much better. The ending is open to discussion, so I’m rating it an 8/10.

Unforgettable Journey ?

This show completely captivated me from start to finish. I mean, 50 episodes in just 4 days??
It's safe to say it became a part of my daily routine, and I never once got bored or lost interest. It absolutely deserves all the praise it gets?

Sure, I was a bit confused by all the names and clan references at first, like with any Wuxia drama? But once they delved into the flashbacks, everything clicked into place, and I was hooked.

The plot was just... wow. I can't even find the right words to describe how much I enjoyed every second of it?
The cinematography, the epic battles, the gorgeous costumes – it was all top-notch. And the characters? Don't even get me started. I felt like I knew each and every one of them personally, thanks to the incredibly detailed storytelling.

And let's talk about the actors – every single one of them delivered outstanding performances that added so much depth to the story. From the seasoned veterans to the newcomers like Sizhui and Jin Ling, each one of them found a special place in my heart❤️

But all good things must come to an end, and sadly, The Untamed is no exception. I'll definitely miss Lan Zhan's stoic demeanor and Wei Wuxian's mischievousness. But hey, at least there's a Special Edition to look forward to!?

Speaking of the end, I can't help but wish for a bit more closure. Like seeing Jiang Cheng and Wuxian finally making up, or Wei Wuxian taking on the role of the uncle. It would've been nice to see those loose ends tied up.

Oh, and can we talk about the flute music? I've always been obsessed with it in Wuxia dramas, but "Wuji" took it to a whole new level✨That tune is permanently stuck in my head now, and honestly, I'm not complaining?

In short, The Untamed was an unforgettable journey that I'll cherish for a long time, and I'm so grateful to have experienced it?
