Weather is like people....
I looooooove the analogy in every episode that people are like weather. And as I've been invested in meteorology these days, I realized that weather is not easy to predict, the same like people. It's not easy to read them.We are often meet some misunderstandings when we are trying to build a relationship. Sometimes we didn't tell what we were actually meant and sometimes we told the truth but people still misunderstood.
Sometimes we failed to read the satellite images before our eyes. Because there are too many variables, whether in a relationship and in forecasting weather.
Throughout the obstacles we will understand of each character and same goes as with the weather. Every season develops every room of how each character collide together. It can creat rain, thunder, snow, icy rain, typhoon, disaster, heat, sunny day, cozy weather, or rainbow.

A Beautiful Ryang Um Who's Like a Flower: Layers of His Character
I feel like Ryang Eum's character is interesting. He's complicated. He's definitely a more reliable friend than Eun Ae. But at least Eun Ae could understand the fl better. She even admitted that she understood her better than herself.Meanwhile Ryang Eum seemed to have unseparable bond with the ml. It looked like there's no one who could understand him better than Ryang Eum but there was a time that Ryang Eum failed to understand. It's his heart. It felt like they didn't share the bro codes only in that particular thing.
"I don't belong to anywhere. I'm just here and there." When the ml said that what he actually meant was that he's longing for a place of his own. A place called home. And his reply with "Right. You don't belong to anywhere. But wherever you're, I belong to your side." It creeped me out.
I don't know what's his real deal was. Was it because of too much loyalty or he saw him more than friends? But I understand why he did what he did. Personally, I can relate to his character. That's why I can say that he's being childish at that moment. I thought he also realized his mistake but he just decided to cross the line.
And he really meant it when he said he didn't regret it. Moreover when he witnessed what happened to the man he looked up to at the end. If I were him, I would be glad if turned out I was wrong. But the look in his eyes, he was so mad that in his mind he's true about her after all.
I understand her decision and it seemed like there's another reason that will unfold in the next part. The writers seemed to have an intention to make it as if she didn't really meant it when she said "I don't love you enough to leave everything behind." Maybe they will provide a good and brutal excuse for us and we will buy it later. Something like "I love you too much that's why I was letting you go." But what makes it clear for me right now is, he gave everything for her, even his life. But she couldn't do the same. That's why to me what she said was quite literal, that 'he loves her more than she loves him' and I think Ryang Eum would be agree with me.
Was he okay when he saw Gil Chae sending him off just like that after what he's been through for her tho? Ryang Eum is not just another supporting character. And his bond with Lee Jong Hyun is too strong for him to let him go like that. Ryang Eum is smart and tactical and sometimes manipulative. Our main lead would have been died several times if it's not because of him. He has the ability to change the direction of the wind. If you know what I mean...
Based on the teasers, it seemed like something happened to the female lead. I wouldn't be surprised if Ryang Eum had anything to do to pull the trigger. Maybe he didn't need to take much effort. He just needed to sing, and it would be like a butterfly effect. When a small flap of its wings might cause a tornado at the mainland and the peninsula.
Or there's a twist of a character development and it's the other way around of what I've said about him. It would be interesting if later turned out I'm wrong. And I'm really anticipating of what they have in store in the next part.

What's scarier than an opponent and an incompetent leader? It's 'sick' people.
It's been a while since I watch a piece that engaged me throughout the whole episodes. It's keeping me on the edge of my seat. The next thing I realized was that every time I wanted to click the next episode my heart was beating so fast like I was about to see my date. The emotional rollercoaster watching it scene by scene was so priceless. It's full of a hooking point point and so thrilling. The build up was just so good. They really knew how to play with the perfect tempo.
It's not that it's flawless. They still left some questionable rooms but I don't want to say that it's a plot hole. If anything it's like some information delay in order to carry the plot they're trying to pursue.
My favorite part, the political quarrels between Ji Jinhee and Son Sukku was so breathtaking to see. It struck right through my heart as I was enchanted by their acting. It showed this solid synergy and phenomenal chemistry between them. What was that? Oh my God. I always acknowledge that they both were excellent actors. But the acting duet was just on another level. The kind of acting that made me speechless.
The drama was so well delivered that we are able to translate why a character did what they did. At first I really love the nerdy professor and mad scientist version more than when our male lead tried to do politics. Although I didn't quite share the ideology with the opposite party I began to understand the sentiment that giving the highest authority to a clueless leader was so dangerous. But more stories unfold and more interesting things served to build such epic every character development.
Overall it's not a light drama but it's not that hard to swallow even for me as someone who's not into politics. I'll say it's quite easy to follow the story but at the same time it's very intense. The well written script and a good direction playing a brilliant role in delivering the situation.

Do not expect too much
Compared to the first movie this is like a joke, especially at the first half. How could they come up with that stupid characterization? 😭 YYS was such a great actor, he nailed the character and it's not his mistake they wrote a character like that. It made me think that portraying the NK Leader's character more mysterious like they did in the first movie was brilliant. And I don't even want to talk about the US President's character. 😬Some part was funny but still.... it's not worth the screentime. I feel like they were wasting their time. I was like "where's the steel rain?" Because nothing was ever happen in the beginning. Just some confusing political quarrel. I had to google it to get the context. They explained it later tho, like really later.
Things started to get interesting at the second half of the movie. All the interesting stuff happened here. This part is really worth to watch. Things would be more intense if they build the universe straight from this point. And the reverse in the roles from Steel Rain was actually so fresh to see. JWS rocked again, not as much as he did in the previous movie tho.
I'm sorry this is actually not that bad as it sounded. It's just fell from my expectations.

Aesthetically pleasing and comfort one-sided-love trope
This epic slow burn romance is such a comfort zone. I feel like I've been wrapped in a comfy cotton blanket. The rhythm of the story is like walking on tiptoes. The one that doesn't give an alarming vibe but instead calming as the story moves smoothly.
Ep 1 was plain and I didn't really get the chemistry between the leads. It's starting to get interesting at ep. 3, I can feel their strong bond. By the end of ep. 4 I felt connected to the story. It was painful and beautiful. Like I had an unrequited love and the feeling lingered with me.
In the end, we can understand why the man lead did what he did. Because his love is unconditionally.
I like that they make it short. It's perfect this way. It doesn't feel dragged or too long, just enough of proportion.

If only...
This could be incredible but the execution was off. Especially the first half of the movie was a bit meh. The CGI was just not it. The directing lacked a hooking point. But I have to admit that once it entered the flashback of the mother, it started to get interesting. For some reason I wanted to see the end of the story. I keep thinking that it has a big potential. It could be a tear jerking and an inspirational movie had it beautifully written and directed.
It wasn't that bad. It's just wasting its great potential.
Still recommended if you want to watch something light and family related movie.

Like a flower on the edge of the street, it's pretty and blue... and real
Ep. 1 was so funny. I love the dry humours. It's just hit at the perfect moments that make me cracked up until my cheeks were swollen. LolThey served us a very realistic trope that we can relate a lot. About people in their adulthood and how they handle their lives. Even if you live in the city, there are a lot of rooms for you to resonate with the story.
Yeom Ki Jung, the older sister is like cold ocean waves, it's better to not go near her but if you're not within her reach she won't bite you either. At first I thought she's a scary mean girl, but she's just so hilarious that can make people freeze and speechless around her.
Yeom Chang Hee, the brother, is like a duck. He kwak kwak kwak a lot. He's so funny when
he gets angry and he tends to blabbering I don't think he can stop talking. 😂 And I had to pause my screen sometimes, so that I could control my laughter.
Yeom Mi Jung, the youngest, is so calm, her brother and sister sometimes make a fun of her. She's so innocent and as calm as the weather before the thunderstorm streak. Her older sister may be hilarious but Mi Jung is just on another level, she literally took her sister and brother nonsense jokes and did it persistently.
Maybe if you grow up with two older siblings like them, you'll end up like her. They take all the noises in the world while she get the quiteness.
Mr. Goo is all silent. I don't know what his deal is yet. All he do is working on the field and drinking after dinner while turning his back to the world. Oh apparently this man is still gazing over Jirisan. Lmao
All of the chaotic characters, they have similarities. I feel like they all are trapped. Not actually trapped at village of the small town Sanpo but they just trapped inside themselves and need a liberation. The oldest wants to settle down, the middle wants to move out of the country side, and the youngest wants to really live her life, to be present and whole and maybe find a worship mate.
As for mister Goo, he's still a mystery.

Give This a Chance
To be honest I almost dropped this after watching half of the first episode. I was having a very high expectation because the trope seemed interesting. But the introduction was not engaging and the characterization was weak. I was hoping for something deeper than this and I saw that potential on the past story line instead. The problem was not on the quality of the drama. In fact the CGI was excellent. And I've enjoyed the characters more cringe and the story way cliche than this (this is not cliche imo). I just thought that I was not the right target audience for this. I might love this when I was younger. But later I found myself started to question many things and not just accepted things easily. Especially in this case, for a fantasy I needed to be assured and it had to be logical according to their culture universe. I understood that fantasy had its own structure and it wouldn't be the same as the reality but it's their job to make the world they built in the drama made sense for us to watch. And I felt that this drama was still working on it.
That being said the ending of the first episode was kind of a turning point. When I learned a little about the main lead characters I started to understand. Something I lately realized that it was made sense after all. It was just because of it poorly introduced that almost failed me. It gave me a hope that this was about to get interesting. I was relieved I didn't drop this right away when the episode two began to grow on me.
As I already dropped my expectation, I'm looking forward for whatever this drama has in store for me for the next episodes.
