I'd honestly give this whole episode a 15/10 if I could!.

I'd honestly give this whole episode a 15/10 if I could!.It had me sobbing and crying yet laughing and cackling multiple times in the same hour. The characters' arcs this episode was beautiful and definitely a journey in itself (per character). I really appreciate that in this series, even if you personally don't agree with one or any of the character's actions or choices, you can clearly see and understand the reasonings behind their decisions. Even if they're not the right ones. The readjustment to life as it is, is difficult but I find that this episode has somehow found a way to frame and portray it as what it is: the frustrating, sometimes unwelcome unknown that's also strangely hopeful and beautiful and full of surprises. I've gotta give it to P'Aof, this is an ABSOLUTE MASTERPIECE. This episode but also the whole series so far. His Christmas episodes, from both Moonlight Chicken and now Last Twilight, are so darn emotional, well crafted and magical- in the most unexpected way; it's somehow so painful, heartwarming and real, all at the same time.

Keeps being a pleasant surprise!

Rating for ep3: 8.94Loved the added depth of characters and the different perspectives. This series just keeps being a pleasant surprise! The comedy, chemistry and awkardness was all on point and I love all of the strong platonic relationships; it really adds a lot to the show. The pacing and editing were also still on point! This time around, the editing was a bit more jumpy/confusing than I thought it had to be but it was purposefully done and they'd definitely achieve their desired effect!

Fairly disappointed; not my cup of tea..

Rating for ep1: 6.46/10 starsThe synopsis itself has so much potential but I unfortunately found this episode really boring. I do admit that I had somewhat high expectations for this show as it seemed promising and there aren't very many high quality thai BLs airing as of right now. My favourite aspect besides the trope that this is based on, is the brothers' relationship; it was really nice to see and I love their dynamic. Otherwise, I wasn't really sold on the lore- you can have the craziest of concepts but you need somewhat solid reasons backing it up- and to me, the show and it's characters came off as juvenile and immature. I found the editing choppy and jarring but maybe it's just my pov as someone super extroverted as that seems to be an unpopular opinion? Most people in the comments seemed to like the introverted perspective; I guess the stylistic choices just weren't for me. I'm fairly unimpressed but I really want to love this and I'm really excited to see Pee (Phat) in another series so I'll be giving this one a few more episodes before potentially dropping it. As of now, I can't really see where the storyline is going to go and this was just the first episode so hopefully the execution and content improves!

That was PERFECT and such a beautiful episode!

Episode Rating: 9.83/10 stars This rating for episode 7 is very different from my rating of the pilot, in which I was debating whether or not to drop it. I am VERY glad that I didn't! I literally had no complaints throught the whole episode and was enjoying every single bit of it. Bow didn't even annoy me this episode and I actually really liked her? The relationship dynamics, the progression and all of the tiny detail, expressions and reactions just made this sweet episode ever the more sweeter! It was so warm. It's was so good that I actually don't have much to say about it; they really brought this series to another level with their approach this episode... The only exception was that the last minute or so of the episode felt a bit too generic for me, as in the overdone way but I'm very curious to see where they take it. I can't wait for the next episode. The teaser for ep8 IMO looks very overdramatic which I'm skeptical about but hey I'm pretty optimistic about it because this series has already really pleasantly surprised me multiple times. This series but especially this episode, really showcases a subtle yet romantic and intimate undertone :)

Standing strong; a mature & realistic take with a reasonable boss? Spoilers in the 2nd section.

Rating for ep2: 8.87/10 starsProduction quality and editing is still standing strong but some things felt a little rushed and not well enough explained. There also wasn't much that happened this episode... it was really good and entertaining but it wasn't as good as the pilot. The pilot left an impression whereas this ep seems to not quite be a filler but more so an episode of buildup with no clear episodic arc; which made it feel less satisfying. Ik in the long run that's the right call for the story but with only one episode a week I was wanting/ craving more!? I need at least two episodes a week or maybe I should've waited to binge multiple episodes. Either way this series has successfully had me screaming and gaping at the screen each time it the ep freezes on the final frame. **My Thoughts with SPOILERS below:**Yes, there was a lot of things piling up on Pat's plate, with the extortion at work, his ex, the rumors at work, his asshole coworkers that are a little too nosey and entitled along with his (voluntary) back to back work hours only for his good work to be nit picked by his boss who's "never" satisfied. Basically Pat's using Jeng as the figurehead in which he'll be taking out all of his frustrations onto. Because he sure as hell isn't taking it out on his nasty coworkers! Psychologically speaking, people who cope with stress this way tend to built it up and take it out on someone that they feel closest and safest with because the relationship has more so of a "safety net"; and of course this is all subconscious. It definitely doesn't excuse any of Pat's behaviours but it's a cute little detail of foreshadowing! The coworkers make my blood boil almost everytime one of them is on screen yet somehow they don't fully feel out of place, they still kind of fit and are enticing but it could also honestly get old at any minute... That being said, I didn't think the "work injustices" were quite severe enough for him to snap and submit that pissed off and pointed peer review report lol. I am glad that Pat's getting the recognition for HIS own work as well as his own autonomy work wise, but from the translations we've gotten, I think Jeng's concerns and feedback is perfectly reasonable. He's their boss not their friend and while he could show a bit more appreciation towards those deserving (aka Pat) and rephrase a couple of critics for the most efficient and effective effect, I don't see any faults with any of it. It's all very valid and reasonable. The borders of the slideshow and the additional presentation notes were kind of petty but it's also Pat's job? He's getting paid to do that stuff? Jeng also does praise him (briefly) every single time, which is then followed up by the critics. It'd be so much more impactful for him to do the praise and then use constructive criticism aka what to work on for next time rather than the "this wasn't great" or "that wasn't professional". We see Nan do this and Pat's very receptive to it but of course Jeng isn't obligated to do that. He's the boss. And as unfair as it was for Ying to throw him under the bus, he's also 25 y/o... he's old enough to understand that they are a team, a unit, so whatever issues they have amongst themselves can and should be dealt with at any other time; not right in front of their respective clients. It affects them all. I mean I'm younger than him and I thought that was inherent! I was so glad that Pat got a supportive work buddy and while I am critiquing his actions I do understand that he's still young, impulsive and inexperienced. It's very realistic and there's so much space for character development! I'm very excited to see how they go upon it.Btw it was so weird to see P'Poppy in the more serious and logical role instead of his normal comedic relief roles but he rocked it!

Very pleasantly surprised!

Rating for ep1: 9.26/10 starsI'm super happy that I started this series on a whim. Thank you boredom! The editing and quality of this show is so good so far; the editing's all snappy and peppy. Office dramas can get stagnant and slow pretty easily in my opinion so this is giving me some hope! I'm really liking Pat? He's instantly pretty adorable, relatable and likable. He's so cute with his attempts at beeping his ID hands free, it was hilariously adorkable yet super relatable. They seem to be doing a good job of introducing and defining their characters' traits from the get go, I'm impressed. The office "intro" was basic enough but it was clear and well done. Anyways, the OST theme song is super catchy and the intro is super fun and eye-catching. Good signs!Idk why but I want to say that this show seems really thoughtful, so far. Can't wait for future episodes!

Simple yet well done and oh so sweet!

Rating: 7.83/10 starsThis is really cute!!! Very sweet and simple but very well done so far! I was slightly unsure of Near's performance in the trailer but she's actually very charming and cute in her own way. I'm really enjoying this so far!AHHHHHHH- the sweetness is too real!! This is so well done production wise especially since this is the first project of a low budget company. So impressive; all round as well! My only complaint is that it seems a bit rushed towards the end but that's unfortunately to be expected in a series with only 5 episodes under twenty minutes each. That seems to be the only indication that this is a low(er) budget production.

That was something wasn't it? Dumb decisions, frustration and an overall drop in enjoyment levels

Episode Rating: 3.9/10 starsWell that 7.8 rating now seems to be more accurate lmao. That episode was something wasn't it? Dumb decisions, frustration and an overall drop in enjoyment levels. I'm really sad to say that I doubt that Step by Step will be able to recover from that. This episode, in my opinion, Pat's endearing youthfulness was switched out for something childish and almost bratty, at the oddest times. And did the production team forget to edit and add in music for one of the Ikea scenes? It made the scene feel so weird. There was something really off specifically with this episode along with JengPat's dynamics in it.I honestly wouldn't have any problems with the plot and character flaws/choices, if done well. Which it was not...I was loving this series so much but now I don't even really care that there'll be a 2 week wait between episodes. For reference, my overall series rating went from 9.5 stars before ep6 and is now 8 stars after (I'm still not sure if that's too generous or not). It's safe to say that I am throughly frustrated and disappointed :/
