Do you prefer  Korean dramas or Chinese dramas? Why? Let's talk about it.

I watched a few Chinese trailers once and was never attracted to them until now. Most of the time it was a bit too cheesy for me and the vocal range of the female actors was a bit too high. For me, the Korean language also sounds more melodic/appealing, but I also really like the Korean language. That's why I mostly watch K-dramas, but I still have a few C-dramas on my plan-to-watch list that are supposed to be pretty good. I'll definitely watch it at some point to form an opinion beyond the trailer. And you?

I got it. I have a list that mainly includes Korean dramas. I have been watching K-dramas since 2014 and have many favorites. Like you, I also like the Korean language, so I'm learning Korean. Other features in Korean dramas also draw me, such as actors and actresses, scenarios, and osts. I've started to watch C-dramas lately. Actually, most of them are easy to watch because their stories are pretty similar, especially school dramas. I like watching them when I want to chill, like avoiding my thoughts. There are good ones in Chinese dramas. If you want, I can recommend you.  Anyway, I think K-dramas are mostly the best.

@milknbrownie: Funny :-) I also started learning Korean. What country are you from? If I don't have your recommendations on my "Plan to watch" list yet, feel free to give me a few tips. :-)

I see you're still missing "The K2" from your collection. You should definitely watch this series if you liked Healer :-)

I'm from Turkey. And you're from?  Then, I will write some of my favorite c-dramas that come to my mind. You can check later whether they are already on your list.

  •  Hidden Love
  • Exclusive Fairytale (Jun <3)
  • Lighter and Princess
  • Love O2O
  • When I fly towards you
  • A love so beautiful
  • Put hand on my shoulder

And also thank you for your recommendation. I know the K2, and it is already on my list. I haven’t watched it yet. I guess I read the comments, and they said the ending was bad or something like that. I don't remember now. Therefore I didn’t watch it. Is it really good? And of course, I watched Healer!! It is one of my favorites!!!  JCW <3 :)

I am from Germany :-) I didn´t find "The K2" on your list, that´s why I told you, you have to watch it. The end isn´t that bad - don´t worry. I really loved this series, but CLOY and Healer are also my favorites with the highest rating <3  Thank you for your tipps - I´ll check it out!

Das ist ja witzig! Dann sprichst du sicherlich Deutsch :-) Schau dir K2 auf jeden Fall an .. allein schon wegen Wookie und dem Soundtrack <3

I prefer K-drama, as they look more cinematographic and have better production value.

C-dramas always have tons of filters that make them look cheap. All faces look super pale, and usually, the color grading is off, with overly bright images. It burns my eyes.

There are a few exceptions, like some thriller C-dramas, but most other productions have these horrible unnatural filters. The dubbing is also annoying and make for very cheap shows (minus a few exceptions).

Also, Cdramas are usually more predictable due to the censorship they have to pass (bad guys never win, no controversial topics, government workers are always honest and helpful, etc.)

This is really a very good and detailed explanation. Thank you!

Actually, I don't speak German sorry....  I just know basic conversations and vocabulary. I was born there and came back to Turkey when I was little, so I couldn’t learn German.  It is, I mean, not learning German,  one of my regrets. My mom speaks German. I should have learned from her...

You really should. Languages are like bridges between people and countries :-)

As a translator and interpreter, I need to learn. May I know which city you live in Germany?
