(Hoping, thread-owner milknbrownie will handle the stirred hives that my comment may cause)
I personally do like Chinese dramas MORE.
( please, i swear, i do not mean to offend here a single k-drama fan ).
The reason behind me chinese drama fan is -
1) i find chinese dramas more realistic,
2) They talk about the problem and solution to that problem,
3)They give certain message in the drama,
( at times it becomes a bit more, they can reduce the extent of doing that)
While, k-dramas are still floating in fantasy-dream-fairy - impossible to achieve stuff- world.
( its not that i despise k- dramas, I have liked many k dramas too, like goblin, coffee prince, Mr. sunshine, my mister, the red sleeve, Mr queen, reply 1988 and many more )
We are here to put our honest opinion at this platform (someone has told me, if u want to avoid criticism, u say nothing)
What that world would be like, if we are not allowed to put our views??
I sincerely believe, korean dramas can do much better-
by reducing/ or avoiding alltogether giving importance-
1) to the looks of ML/FL ( I mean I just can not fathom to digest the dialogues from girls when our ML enters the scene, "omg! He is so handsome".
I mean, what a MAN has got anything to do with how he looks??
How he excels in his field of work , should be the deciding criterion for him to be considered as a good man. And not the bl**dy looks of his.
2) financial condition of ML/FL,
3)Bullying by classmates/colleague,
4) Dominating parents/husbands.
C'mon, i mean school going kids too will not give two hoots to the looks and money nowadays, they go for inner core values.
So, k-drama fans, i am standing here holding the white flag and appealing to k- drama directors/producers to have a look into the matter please.
Hwaiting!!! K-dramas
And c-dramas, you continue doing what u are.
Jayyo!!!
Rebellina79:@aenonee: It is interesting that you are already defending yourself even though no one has attacked you. I think everyone is entitled to their opinion and I haven't had the feeling that anyone sees it differently. <3 Every meaning is welcome!
Hmmm..... u r saying this, because u do not have an idea, what has happened to me last few days here.
So, i was just taking a precautionary action.
By keeping that stuff aside,
what do u think about my comments here over c and k dramas?

I really wonder what happened to you? and I sincerely appreciate your opinion and the detailed explanation you have provided. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with me. I also agree with you in some aspects. There are of course imperfections in K-dramas and they should be improved.

I'm sorry you had a bad experience, but never play the role of victim. You do not have to. Everyone is allowed to express their opinion without having to justify themselves. Everyone who is bothered by this has to live with this, their own problem - not you.
Back to your question: I've only seen a few trailers of Chinese dramas and I found them pretty cheesy. I don't really have a comparison, but all the K-dramas I've seen so far don't fit your description. Personally, Korean dramas appeal to me more, but I'm still open to watching Chinese ones too.
aenoee:Some of my fav Chinese dramas are -
The ideal city, nirvana in fire ( do not get scared with the number of episodes), eternal love ( the one with mark chao), go go squid, dream of splendour, first 1/2 of my life, unrequited love( I can give u many more names if u r interested)
Thank you :-) This is my favorite list. You shpuld really watch them <3
I do like both.
I mostly like cdrama for it's wuxia and xianxia genres and historical. I do occasionally watch modern era cdrama, but I am hesitant to watch those as they are so much different, even the language sounds different. I've only watched a handful of good modern era cdramas. Hidden Love is a good example.
Kdramas are much better at the modern era storytelling, but it also has its joseon era history which is quite interesting. I did watch kdramas for 2 years before watching cdrama, so I am a bit biased for kdrama.
I do not really prefer either, a good drama is a good drama, for me it doesn't matter if it's cdrama or kdrama.
But one mention about quality is that high end xianxias have improved vastly in quality over just a few years. Watching the still-motion beasts in Eternal Love vs the dragon in Love between fairy and devil is just not comparable.
