Kim Seol Hyun (The Killer's Shopping List) takes on the role of the mysterious woman Ji Yeong in the Disney+ original series Light Shop.
Light Shop is a story that unravels when people with secrets visit a mysterious light shop, the only place that lights up the end of a dark alley. A-list actors such as Ju Ji Hoon, Park Bo Young, Uhm Tae Goo, Bae Sung Woo, Lee Jung Eun, and more are starring in the K-drama.
Ji Yeong is a mysterious character who sits alone at a dark bus stop, seemingly waiting for someone. With her long hair falling over her face as she hangs her head low, Ji Yeong's very appearance exudes an eerie atmosphere. Scenes of her wandering through rainy alleys heighten the curiosity about her story.
Kim Seol Hyun shared "Ji Yeong is a character who is unlike any I've ever played before." "I tried to embody the character as closely to the original [one from the webtoon] as possible and lowered my vocal tone more than usual. I even met with the director to practice and shape the tone of the character."
Writer Kang Full praised Kim Seol Hyun's portrayal of Ji Yeong, saying, "I was very impressed because she really looked like Ji Yeong on set." He selected her as the actor most closely resembling a character straight out of the original webtoon.
Director Kim Hee Won also commented, "She's an actress with a mysterious charm. I thought she'd be well suited for Ji Yeong's character. And when we started filming, I was truly amazed," further heightening expectations for the actress's performance.
