Kim Young Dae announces that he will be stepping down from "School 2021" and will reportedly join Lee Sung Kyung in the upcoming drama "Shooting Star"
According to several reports on July 15th Kim Young Dae decided to step down from his role on the upcoming drama "School 2021," the actor expressed his wishes to drop the project as things were different from what was originally planned and agreed upon. The drama's production team and the actor also exchanged their opinions and figured out they couldn't work together.
Kim Young Dae's agency Outer Korea confirmed the news, stating that the actor will not appear in the drama anymore. KBS also shared their side and stated that Kim Young Dae has been with them in the preparations of the drama like script rehearsals, actors' meetings and such but he suddenly expressed his intention to leave. They are working to reach an amicable agreement.
On the same day, it was also reported that Kim Young Dae is currently reviewing the offer to lead the upcoming drama "Shooting Star." Lee Sung Kyung also received the casting offer last April and still under discussion.
"Shooting Star" will be directed by Choi Young Woo and written by Lee Soo Hyun. The drama will be produced by Mace Entertainment.
The upcoming tvN drama will showcase the stories of people who work behind-the-scenes so the stars can shine. It will show a variety of professional groups such as public relations team, managers, reporters, and more.
Kim Young Dae was offered to play the role of Gong Tae Sung, a youth actor who filmed a scene that became legendary in drama history. He is a top star signed under Star Force Entertainment.
The rising actor is currently starring in the ongoing third season of "The Penthouse 3: War in Life".
