Choi Woo Sung will be added to the cast line-up of the upcoming tvN drama "Melancholia"
It was announced on January 28th that Choi Woo Sung is confirmed to star in the new tvN drama with main leads Lee Do Hyun and Im Soo Jung.
Choi Woo Sung will be included in the cast as Jang Gyu Young. He's the character who's overly jealous of Baek Sung Yoo (Lee Do Hyun's character) because he's smarter and has more interactions with Im Soo Jung's character named Ji Yoon Soo.
Other casts members included in the drama is Jin Kyung, Choi Dae Hoon, Jang Hyun Sung, Byun Jung Soo, Kim Ho Jin, Baek Ji Won, and Woo Da Vi.
Set in a corrupt private high school with preferential treatment, "Melancholia" will revolve around a math teacher and a genius student. It will be helmed by Kim Sang Hyub ("True Beauty") and written by Kim Ji Woon ("Hyde, Jekyll, Me").
The upcoming drama will have a total of 16 episodes and will air on tvN. The drama will premiere around October of this year.
Choi Woo Sung is a rising actor in South Korea. He debuted in 2019 through the drama "Moment at Eighteen" and has been active in being a supporting role in several dramas since then.
The actor has starred in the dramas "The King: Eternal Monarch," "It's Okay to Not Be Okay," "She Would Never Know," and "Sell Your Haunted House." He last appeared in the drama "My Roommate Is a Gumiho" as Girl's Day Lee Hye Ri's younger brother.
Choi Woo Sung will also appear in the soon-to-air drama "Police University" led by Cha Tae Hyun, Krystal, and B1A4's Jung Jin Young.
"Melancholia" will be Choi Woo Sung's fifth project for this year.
