A romantic film about a man struggling with a painful past as he tries to move forward, only to discover that the woman in his present life has an uncanny connection to his past. Together, they navigate the complexities of love, heartbreak, and healing, all against the backdrop of cultural and identity differences in the foreign city.

Both dramas involve leads that have their lives intertwined by what happened in the past. Both had male leads that have secrets kept from the female lead. The male leads falls for the female leads despite not so remarkable or favorable impression of the female lead at first.

Both secrets from the past are gradually revealed providing new twist. Although, hotel kings plot twist seemed more long and winding.
The male lead will do anything to protect the female lead

The best part of both dramas is the chemistry between the actors who played the OTP .

Both dramas involves a female lead who were spoiled rich air heads that eventually transforms via great character development through series of trials, as they eventually try to develop their knowledge on their respective careers.
Both male leads in the drama are both conflicted with the dilemma that they should not fall in love with the female lead. Both dramas have revenge plots but eventually the male leads falls for the female lead and end up protecting the female lead. The female leads gets hurt by the knowledge of the background of the male leads but eventually could not resist loving the male lead despite his background but accepts him as himself rather than from where he is from and what he has done in the past.
If you love dramas that tackles on "Love that should not be" and "Love overcoming Hate" then both of these dramas are for you.
PLUS both leads in both dramas have AMAZING CHEMISTRY.

If you want to continue down the road of dark melodrama and want to see more Lee Dong Wook than this may be the way to go. But be warned, A Bittersweet life in it's own way can be even darker than Hotel King with very little light hearted reprise. Like Hotel King, it also has a very good Romance, although the romantic couple have a completely different vibe.

Hotel King remembers me That Winter the Wind Blows in many ways. They have similar storylines based on power struggles. Both female leads are orphan heiresses, and both man leads wanted at first to take advantage of them before falling for them. In both dramas, one of the two main protagonists believes the other to be his/her sibling.

They also share the same atmosphere, I felt the same way watching those shows, with all the background manipulations and the constant danger threatening the main protagonists. Both hook you in a way that you can't resist the envy to watch the next episode.

I really think that people who enjoyed Hotel King will enjoy That Winter the Wind Blows. The main actors are really good. The main actress did a great job at playing someone blind. I love her character, who, despite her blindness, has a real willpower and does everything to stay strong.
Moreover, this drama does have something really poetic, and is esthetically really beautiful to watch.

Lee Dong Wok in both. He was the owner of the hotel. I have not seen Hotel King yet thought this two film has evolved in “Hotel”

both dramas are driven by revenge plot device but love blooms against all odds. The male lead ends up protecting the girl instead of exacting his planned revenge.

The stories are somewhat different. But if you like Hotel king you'll definitely like Triangle. Both are based on protecting someone and the romance in both are good.
