You Make Me Dance (2021)

OMG! Am I dreaming?!? ♥‿♥

Fist of all, this drama can give you butterfly effect if you love sweet and lovely love stories. The main casts was perfectly chosen, and I really love that fact here wasn't 2nd lead. Plus more point!! And that second fact it was a love drama with a hint of dancing, that was really nice and unique in their own way!! aw I loved it! (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧
I was also really amazed by the OST soundtracks,it was really goooood, and some scenes just broke my heart (Yeah I know I am that type of person who can cry on everything lolol) but really...I was really touched by this drama.
It has everything that I wanted from a sweet and lovely BL drama. This drama also give us lessons about love and everyday life. I liked this too, so it is a plus point from me to the series.
By The Way I also loved everything about this drama.
My only one problem with this drama is, IT'S TOO SHORT!! I/we need more episodes of this series! I can say that it's my second fav Korean BL. (✿◠‿◠)

A cute story but many unanswered questions

For a second I thought this show would go into my most hated cliche, the “one half of the couple goes to another country in the last episode" route, but it thankfully didn't.

At first I didn't feel much chemistry between the main actors, but it got better as the show went on. For a korean BL I feel like this series kinda pushes the limits a bit more than the usual shy 1 or 2 quick kisses. The main plot is simple but you can’t think too much about the details or it doesn’t make much sense. For example, where does the money come from for Shi On to live? Doesn’t he have to go to classes? Can Hong Seok’s just take 1 month off of work to do “nothing”?

This is a mini drama, and, just like the others, You Make Me Dance has some side plots that are not developed. But the non explanations here bug me more than normal. I understand that the mom abandoning him is important to the show, and we only know her from Shi On's eyes, but it's a weird plot point, since he got the money for her in the first place. Or did he actually got the money to live since she just left? Is the mom a terrible person and Shi On's just doesn't want to accept it in the beginning? She got married and left when She On tuned 20 (which apparently was the year prior), so she was a good mom for 20 years and then vanished? My impression is that Shi On is definitely not a reliable narrator.

Had me captivated from the start

Definitely one to top the list; there were so many things in this movie that made me want to re-watch again and again.

The highlight of it all were the actors. Their portrayal of emotions whilst trying to simultaneously hide their emotions were a treat to watch. Relatively unknown actors, I hope we get to see a lot more from them in the years to come.

The story itself is cute, if not somewhat lacking in detail. It's an idealistic BL story but one that isn't completely new or fresh. Sets the appropriate tone for the movie and that's about it. Cute is probably the most ideal word to describe it.

Over all, I'd highly recommend a watch as the acting was on point. Chemistry was electric and the entire film gave me the warm fuzzies along with a sexy vibe, despite the sheer lack of anything obviously sexy. That, in itself, is an accomplishment!

Beautiful dance

I loved this series it was entertaining and well acted except for the deadfish kiss scenes The acting was good enough that the actors conveyed their characters so well there was no need for the kiss scenes especially since Choo young woo apparently had a problem doing a bl and If this is true it just lessens him as an actor, all acting in any genre when recognized above others is an achievement it is his job & when you are representing any love story do honor to the role, if not you cheapen your work and make it personal after all isn't it acting Don't reap the benefit and smear the project just speaks to his character if this is true

Foundational Romance Tropes? Fated mates & Grumpy/Sunshine

This is a cool little trope filled nugget out of Korea that I assumed was going to be a slice of life dance version of Wish You but was a bit more complex.

The main character is a dancer and the love interest is a loan shark sent to extort money from him. There was a red tread soulmates trope coloring their interactions and a touch of unexpected physical humor.

Essentially it’s the story of two lonely lost souls finding each other, but also it’s about art and the connection it can build. The ending was rushed ( pacing off through the later half), and the whole thing came off as colder than I expected, but I liked it anyway.

Coreia já pode ticar o conceito "bailarinos gays" da listinha de dramas rs

Ah, eu fiquei super apaixonadinha pelo plot quando li a sinopse desse drama aqui no MDL, sério! Bailarino x agiota soou tão aleatório e promissor que eu simplesmente não pude pensar negativamente. E não fui nem um pouco decepcionada.

A história segue a narrativa do bailarino Song Shion, que acumulou uma dívida devido a um empréstimo e tenta fugir dessa responsabilidade enquanto se exforça para conseguir o papel numa apresentação importante de balet. É nesse cenário que entra Jin Hongseok, o tal agiota que foi encarregado de cobrar a dívida do Shion. Mas Hongseok não quer mais trabalhar como agiota, ele quer sair desse mundo e o Shion vai ser seu "último cliente" então, em teoria, ele deveria terminar o trabalho logo, mas Hongseok acaba se apegando à história e à vida do Shion e decide ajudá-lo a conseguir o papel no musical. Aí é que toda história deles se desenrola.

You Make Me Dance, como todo web drama, apresentou a história de forma simples e direta e fluiu dessa mesma forma - simples e direta. Foi muito palpável pra mim o desespero do Shion toda vez que o Hongseok se fazia presente, aquela coisa de "preciso quitar minhas dívidas, mas também preciso sobreviver e correr atrás do meu sonho" era muito visível nas expressões dele. Já o Hongseok deixou muito clara sua posição "fria e calculista", por mais que desse pra entender pelas ações dele quando ele começou a se preocupar de verdade com o Shion. Toda a química deles fluiu de forma muito natural e singela, eu gosto disso nas produções coreanas.

A música é uma parte importante na série, uma vez que Shion é um dançarino. Nada me chamou muuuuita atenção, mas nada me decepcionou, também.

Korea has really good BL dramas

I have been watching Thai dramas for a long time but Korea has some really good BL dramas too. This is one of them. My favorite is Light On Me but this is a good close second. I feel like Korea comes with really unique storylines that are very captivating.

The story was a really cute one from the start. Connected by a podcast from the start till the end. Just 2 lonely people who found each other, fell in love, and face the ups and downs of life. The chances of something like this happening in real life are close to none but in fiction, it makes a cute and fuzzy story and makes us believe that love truly is out there. Love comes in different ways and makes everything good again.

The plot was a bit too abrupt, sometimes on the contrary, the dancing skills were very average, and therefore there were not many shots of the actual "dance". In addition, it was filmed during the Korean winter, and the halls were completely unheated, when Song moved around in only a T-shirt or sweatshirt, and steam came from the actors' mouths as they spoke into the cold space. In this way, the dancers would have to practice wrapped in overalls, hats, gloves, so that their muscles do not stiffen or they do not get any health. problem. Jin Hong Seok, when he "jumped in" as a model and after adjusting the poses, the photographer was already satisfied, but he still looked like an exasperated mouse during the photo shoot. And those kisses were fishy. The strange character of the head of the enforcement firm and Jin's chaotic position as an employee in her, when he originally wanted to leave.
So now you say to yourself - so many criticisms and such evaluations, but they were trifles and Korea is one of the developed gay film countries, that's why I start from the tens, unlike for example some "beginner" countries, where I start from the ones and notice the pluses.



Čekal jsem trošku více, než jsem dostal, "něco" mi v tomto seriálu chybělo. Každopádně ale příjemné a lehce nadprůměrné, především díky roztomilosti Song Shi On-a.
Tentokrát se zaměřím na mírné nedostatky a proč jsem tedy ubral u jednotlivých hodnocení z dokonalosti ve formě desítky většinou čtyři body.
Celým seriálem mě provázel mírný chlad, na rozdíl od jiných tanečních projektů. Trošku překotnost děje, někdy naopak, taneční dovednosti byly velmi průměrné, a proto moc záběrů na vlastní "tanec" nebylo. Navíc se natáčelo v době korejské zimy a ty sály byly naprosto nevytopené, když se tam Song pohyboval třeba jen v tričku či mikině a od úst herců šla pára, jak mluvili do prochlazeného prostoru. Takto by museli tanečníci cvičit nabalení do kombinéz, čepic, rukavic, aby jim neztuhly svaly či nedostali nějaký zdrav. problém. Jin Hong Seok, když "zaskakoval" jako model a po úpravách póz už byl fotograf spokojen, přesto se tvářil u focení jak vyoraná myš. A ty polibky byly rybí. Divná postava šéfky vymahačské firmy a chaotické postavení Jina jako zaměstnance v ní, když vlastně původně chtěl odejít.
Tak teď si řeknete - tolik výtek a takové hodnocení, ale byly to drobnosti a Korea patří ke gay filmově vyspělým zemím, proto začínám od desítek na rozdíl třeba od některých "začátečnických" zemí, kde začínám od jedniček a všímám si plusů.

very enjoyable

am i crazy or the main lead Won Hyung Hoon looks a lot like Yang Se Jong ? i have no objection to this, just wonder. otherwise, drama is very good, so fresh and easy on the eyes... i'd watch it again any time. it contains only 8 episodes, also really short, so no time to get bored ... some sites compressed them into a movie. it might be low budget, or maybe just minimalist, but not in a troublesome way, it just looks more normal. nothing else to add to this, just watch it and enjoy, from start to finish it's nothing weird or outta place, quite the opposite. i should keep going to reach 500 characters lol
