Death Note (2006)

This movie is a continuation onto the Death Note series

Really intelligent shows. Main characters are geniuses. Twists and turns are very interesting. Both have Erika Toda as main actress.

They both have a similar theme, not necessarily good vs. evil but they ask the same question "What is good? What is bad?"

Just the posters are good enough.

That’s correct both movies have the same 2 main leads.
Obviously as protagonist and antagonist.

Just try it out.

It's a drama but since it's full of suspense it feels like a movie, same as death note with two leads on the same level chasing eachother

A Gift to the People You Hate has a principal theme of hate and revenge. This theme is reinforced by the gift shop whose owner is offering gifts of different levels to those who wish ill to the person they hate - the most extreme of which is death. This mechanism of wishing death is also reflected in Death Note.

Both are psychological and make you think outside the box while in a life or death situation.
Both have a male lead that can solve the crime (L and number 5).
Both have life as a tool and not as something given. Kira plays with people's lives while the 12 teens that are in "12 suicidal children" want to give their lives away.

Both 20th Century Boys and Death Note are based on an action genre manga series.

Both are about a person making a contract with a demon, selling his soul, in return for working with, protected by the demon. Both are based on famous manga.............................

Both stories revolve around a character who finds a notebook and comfortably uses it as their own. While Death Note delves into darker themes, both narratives share a comedic edge.
