This is my first review and I'm giving it to this movie!

So at first, you're presented to a homemade film of two homosexual lovers spending their day at a motel for their fifth anniversary. Honestly, I didn't expect it to be much or make me feel as emotional as I felt by the end of the video. It got me smiling and laughing with them then crying with them.

The acting was great. I was really impressed. The way the movie was filmed and the actors' acting skills made it look so authentic and realistic it just makes you easily sucked into the story and the emotions that are conveyed through the script. It felt as if someone took a camera and filmed one day in their lives, not a movie.

There were some a bit of graphic scenes but it wasn't overdone -- overall it was balanced without showing too much sexual content which I found more suiting to the film than anything else. Nothing major though, didn't bother the movie.

Finally, I recommend everyone who doesn't mind homosexual romance to watch this. You'll absolutely enjoy it!

So I finally get to see this movie. I saw this movie trailer like 4-5 years ago but couldn't find it but thank god that I finally get to see this. I might have not wrote a review but the low rating and lack of reviews pushed me to do so. It's gonna be a long review. So first reason I cud think of on why it has low rating is bcoz not really many people watched it and it's really hard to find this movie. Second is, the movie is pretty short and the story is not that great compared to other gay movies and all. But what I'd like to point out is this movie came in 2011 and not the forget it's a Korean movie. Korea a place where people still think being gay is a disease even in 2020. Also korea is really not good with the idea of gay relationship even though they love shipping 2 guys from same group together. Talk about weird. Anyway this story might not have a happy ending n all but whats potrayed is the reality many gay relationship suffers in korea and many other countries including mine ( I'm gay and living in india). What I liked about the movie was the plot. It's unique considering it was made in 2011 and it directly pin pointed the reality. What we see is what's happening in real. Also both the male leads were great actors in showing the emotions the character were feeling. It was sad. Made me cry too a bit but I'm just an emotional fool so who knows

Story/Plot: The plot the concept of the movie is what I liked. What I didn't like is that its only an hour long and it ended pretty quickly. Just wen u r getting immersed into the character n get to know them, it ends. You don't get too much details and depths. But again as I said its 2011 movie so I don't blame them. The plot is still great for me and I love it

Acting/Cast: Both the actors potray the emotions pretty good. I won't say I haven't seen better acting or cast but they did well enough. Probably must b very awkward for them to work in a gay role. Still their sweet romantic scenes as well as wen the older one cries it hits my heart. U can see in his eyes the sadness even wen he smiles on camera. Its some good shit

Music: It music is more or less blehhh. Its ok nothing great though. But I wud recommend you to hear the song in the trailer of it. It's called 'Swan Song' by Robin Gray. Its really good. Suits the movie

Verdict: If you take into account that its a 2011 Korean movie and not compare it to recent movies then I think you might quite like it. Its sweet at first then sad and just pure heartbreaking in the end and I love a emotional rollercoaster. Watch it seriously

Another Masterpiece Destroyed by Reviews!

I was skirting around for a LONG time about whether or not to watch this short film. The low rating had me thinking it was going to be poor acting or maybe a boring story. Nope, not even a little bit. This had me crying full tears down my face and that tightness in my stomach I typically get from a long haul investment. But really, I have never been this engaged and invested in two characters so fast. This story I am sure isn't loved because of the ending. But it felt so incredibly real and raw, it's easily a must watch if you have an hour to spare.

Fantastic acting in every scene. The fact that I could sense everything as it shifted throughout the movie, speaks volumes to their acting skills.

An Intimate movie

It is true that it is set in 2011 and in South Korea, but it is tiring and tiring that gay stories always end with a sad ending for the simple fact of being Gay. Even so, we must highlight the atmosphere, the complicity with the viewer, how well the actors act, but even so, as I said, it is a tragedy that reinforces the misfortune of the destiny of being Gay in society. Only if you want to suffer for this is it advisable to see it, although its performance certainly deserves applause and I atmosphere the performance, but it hurts too much and leaves unknowns to be resolved, such as how it is possible to hide a double life for five years. finally hard and sad

Cute-Romanticing-Heartbreaking

I like the first person point of view and how it was recorded, first and foremost. I was able to laugh and cry and love with them as the movie went on. I have had this on my list for a while now and never got around to it cause I have always been skeptical of watching older Korean gay films. I skimmed through some spoilers and decided to finally watch it. The explicit scenes are good, but subtle. When they are making love you can feel the passion but its not crazy. The acting was great! I would believe they were actually together for 5 years! I would highly recommend taking an hour out of your life to watch it.

When I realize the subject and the fact that the film was shot eleven years ago and during that time there was a slight shift in the creation of gay stories, I have to greatly appreciate the acting performances of both the two main protagonists (26 and 30 years old at the time). Done openly, tastefully, convincingly, and at the same time the viewer has the impression that it is really just a "documentary of a day", the picture does not play tricks, and please, we are in Asia! A beautifully-sad experience and a complete sense of truth...

Krásně-smutný zážitek a naprostý pocit pravdivosti ...

Worth every minute

Yes, i did give this movie a 10 out of 10 rating. Im still trying to understand the low rating it has.
I understand it might not be for everyone since its barely a movie and more of a memoir of a couple who didnt get their happy ending. I cant even comprehend how that was acting since it felt like i was watching 2 real life lovers making memories together. I saw someone said they laughed and cried together with them and its true. Its so raw that when they re happy, u are too and when they cry, u cry. It conveyed real life problems, feelings and basically everything that people might experience.
If someone who wants to watch the movie but doesnt know if its worth it is reading this, watch it but be prepared.
Its just a beautiful movie.

We are faced with a filmic gem:
Song Young Jun, 30 (Song Jae Ha) and Seo Joon Suk, 23 (Jo Hye Hoon) are a very happy gay couple despite living their love in secret. Both actors, who play their roles perfectly, are not afraid to show their naked torsos during the 65 minutes of the film and have explicit sex scenes, all achieved in an artistic way.
The young people decide to create a memory they never had in celebrating their 5th anniversary. They rent a room in a motel in Jongno (Seoul's popular gay neighborhood) to record their precious memory on a video camera.
Between a celebration cake, confidences, naked baths, sex and complicities, all in front of the camera in which they record themselves, the room is filled with the memories that unite them, like the day on the beach to which they promise. go back. Likewise, they vow to never change their love for each other.
However, there is a feeling in the air that today is going to be their last day.
On the one hand, the excellent performances, the control of the body and voice of the two actors to interpret the emotions, the direction, script and other technical elements of the film and, on the other, the viewer's refusal to accept the obvious, but All the signs of what will happen are cleverly shown: Joon Suk is reluctant to allow himself to be filmed from the first scene, the bathroom scene. He claims to be nervous, then worries that the video could be taken as pornography. Only your boyfriend's insistence will lead him to agree to participate in everything that will happen inside the room.
As Young Jun prepares to leave, Joon Suk is awake, but he pretends to sleep and doesn't want to say goodbye. It is evident that he knew in advance that the relationship would end, and of the existence of a prior agreement between the two that it would end in this way.
Young Jun will also ask “When did you hate me the most?”, to which Joon Suk will respond: “When you tell me 'we don't have a future', 'we should marry women' or 'the gay community in Korea hasn't changed'.” Young Jun will also confess that “there is a fantastic recording ready for you,” referring to the recorded video that he leaves for her to watch after he leaves.
In my opinion, not knowing how to appreciate the true emotions and feelings that the characters convey is the reason for the negative reviews and low ratings. The characters themselves, very subtly, are responsible for answering the reason why the film does not have an ending like the one we would like. The film makes a very intelligent, very subtle criticism of the discrimination that exists in South Korea against members of the LGBT+ community.
South Korea is a conservative country, with strong patriarchal and heteronormative traditions, where homosexuals have difficulty fitting into society. Coming out is still not welcomed in most conservative Korean families, who consider their children's homosexuality as something close to a crime.
Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in South Korea face legal challenges and discrimination not experienced by non-LGBT+ South Koreans. Same-sex sexual activity is legal, but Gay Marriage, Equal Marriage or Same-sex Marriage or other forms of legal partnership are not available to same-sex couples.
It's true: we would like a happy ending for the two young people, but reality prevailed. Young Jun leaves an envelope on the nightstand containing an invitation to his wedding to a woman. His destiny is decided by his family. Your destiny is determined by society. He doesn't have the strength to fight this and accepts not being happy and also making his boyfriend unhappy.
An ending, which would only be syrupy, melodramatic and unrealistic, perhaps bordering on the worst film productions, would have been for Young Jun to have rebelled against his family and society and not have abandoned his boyfriend. For a moment, before the end credits, I thought that they were not a couple, that Joon Suk was a prostitute (because of the envelope on the table I even speculated that it could be money) and they both pretended to be boyfriend and girlfriend for some reason. A happy ending, in this case, could be that the connection created between the two turns them into a couple. Young Jun would return to the room to confess to loving him and Joon Suk would claim that he also developed feelings for him during the hours they shared in the motel room.
