To my understanding, this story is complex and focuses on some things...
1. The longing of he protagonist bestfriend - Porsche. He is a perfect example of how people are willing to keep what they have so long as the person they love stay with them. That is selfless. That authentic love.
2. Denial. Neur knew he had feelings towards Porsche. He just didn't man up to it. He felt everything Porsche did for him. Being in denial is a big waste of emotion. But it also takes a lot of courage to process fact more so accept it.
3. Love conquers all. This is strongly showcased on the series. Love is a bond that even death cannot put a stop to. It is something bigger and more profound in both abstract and actual. It's about the feeling that never leaves us forever. It's the presence that stays with us even when the people we love are no longer around. True love is when their hearts continued to be linked even when time ran out for the other one.
This story is simply brilliant in all aspects. :)
Please watch it carefully and take note of the details. It helps you understand it better.
And please support Porsche and Neur. ??

A touch of religion, partly of a good scenery, with a concept of a family that accept of who you are and family who does not... along with a way to contribute the knowledge on LGBT rights and thoughts...
I am not quite familiar with the Buddhism religion, but it gave me concept on rebirth that sometime we don't deserve on things that are happening to us its a karma in our previous life all you have to do now is plant a good things for you to gain happiness in the future.... Its beautiful movie.
Thanks for reading my thought....

That being said this show compelled me to write one. First of all I loved Grey Rainbow operative word loved. This show had everything going for it and I thought it would be my first 10/10, then the fire nation attacked and by that I mean the ending happened. The story I swore would get a 10 suddenly dropped to 3 in my mind but was upped to 6 for this review after careful consideration of the episodes.
On that note I am surprised that this is rated so high (though mydramalist ratings can be wayyyyyyyy off sometimes) but this one genuinely surprised me. I though more people would be upset by the fact that the ending served no actual purpose. The show that I praised for its originality and realistic perspective jumped straight into stereotypical at the last second. The ending can only be described as forced. I understand in theory that the writers were trying to highlight the "you never know what life might bring" fact but since it was done poorly with very little lead up/foreshadowing it had the effect of being more like "really...really hoe. That's the best you could do."
The cast was strong, cinematography was breath taking and the music was good. I like this story except for the ending and I even plan to rewatch it at least up to a point but i can only recommend it with the warning that the ending SUCKS.

Different from the Rest
I loved a lot of this and mainly for one reason: it wasn't like any Thai BL series I have ever seen before. The cinematography, the sets, even the costumes weren't necessarily how most Thai BLs are, and I had an absolute delight watching this series and being able to enjoy all that it had to offer.Let's Dive In,
First off, kudos to the production team. This was the first-ever Thai BL series that I didn't watch and feel like I was stuck in an alternate universe where all Thai Bls took place. It was beautifully produced, there was not a point missed, and I hope other Bls will follow suit in continuing the beauty that was Grey Rainbow. While I really did enjoy this series, I hate tragedies, and this one's DEFINITELY on that list. It was such an unexpected ending, and a bit confusing. It was for sure added there as a shock factor, but it felt so out of the blue, which I guess was the point. But, the real shock factor is the fact that this was produced in 2016. If we look at other series produced in 2016 (Make It Right, Sotus, My Bromance...) These series shoot ALL of them out the water. I don't know what type of budget each show had, but Grey Rainbow was obviously given a bigger wage than the others. I just hope we can continue viewing them like this.
The other thing I was a bit puzzled about was the numbers. Now looking back, I know it was counting down the amount of time Porche had with Nuer, but the implications were a bit wonky, and all over the place. If anything, I would've like that part of the concept to be a bit more cleaned up. I think the only plot twist I liked was Ice being Porshe's imaginary friend. Now, that was something I seriously didn't see coming,
Overall, this was an excellent watch with a beautiful production crew and amazing cast. Besides the death, this series had a very different tone than the other Thailand BL series. This one was a hundred percent more gloomy, but the lightning and music and camera work and overall presence were so different than most Thai bl series. I really enjoyed the change, I think it added some flavor to this series that we don’t see with the others. I feel like this is such an underrated bl series, but I would recommend it to anyone wanting to watch something pretty tough and sad.

DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT MAJOR SPOILERSI liked how everyone was excepting even if Porsche father was uncomfortable with his son being gay at first but was open enough to change. This is about two college friends who where roommates at 1st and fell in love with each other at 1st sight but where scared of their real feeling because of Thailand’s society of homosexuality. After 4 years of being friends Porsch decided that on their 4 year of friendship he was going to try and tell Nueng that he had feelings for him before graduation. Of course in Thai drama there is always a damn girlfriend. Neung gets dumped by his girlfriend Jane when she starts realizing her boyfriend is gay. Nueng and Porsche end up together quite quickly literally right after Nueng gets dumped. After graduation Porsch moves into Nuengs house to take some time off of school and be with his boyfriend. People find out quickly that Porsche and Nueng are in a relationship, Nueng parents accepted the relationship quickly. Porsches parents show up randomly. There is no real sense of time so everything feels speed up. Porsches parents are told by him he is gay and is in a relationship his dad gets ill and goes to the hospital. He eventually excepts the relationship. More time passes both Porsche and Nueng get engaged and plan to get married even if it’s not seen legal in Thailand. Jane shows up with a baby, Porsche gets jealous because Nueng feels like he needs to watch over Jane because they are friends even though they haven’t seen each other since they broke up. The baby belongs to another man, he left her high and dry. Nueng let’s her work for his family, Porsche gets even more jealous, Jane becomes sick.... she dies. I don’t understand why no one contacts Janes family through the whole time Jane is sick and potentially dying. This show is filled with holes. They magically adopt and raise Janes child as their own still no family members of Jane or the ex boyfriend of Jane the father of the baby. Before Jane dies Porsche and Nueng gets married and Nueng dies “of a heart attack” at their wedding. They don’t explain how Jane does but it was caused by the illness they just don’t say when. Ohh and I forgot to mention Porsch has an damn imaginary friend which you don’t find out until the last episode. This whole time I thought his female friend was a real PERSON. Porsche And Nuengs family raise Janes daughter and you as a baby to a small child near the end of the series. Once his female imaginary friend disappeared she changed into Porsches husband instead saying to take care of Janes child. The story was sweet because Porsch and Nueng didn’t have the drama of people of keeping them apart they actually where a couple and didn’t try to hide it. They got “married” in the eyes of their family and friends. I just hate how Porsche ended up a damn widow. He wasn’t even married with Nueng for a day less than a day. If you don’t care about happy endings go ahead watch it but this isn’t for people who want to watch a romantic series and expect a happy ending because you aren’t getting one. Also all these people you see at the intro of the series they never show up. You will see random couples, secondary roles and you only see them at the intro. The whole series is of Porsche, Nueng, Porsches parents who where there temporarily, Nuengs parents, Jane, Janes new/ex boyfriend aka baby daddy, we see Janes family once, random classmates, random employees at Nuengs families business but not the people at the intro credits of the show.

It was a beautiful series, amazing cinematography, some great acting, and deep characters with realistic dialogue. The ending was AWFUL though, my jaw dropped and so my score for this series. Completely infuriating and cheap. Otherwise an excellent series and seriously handsome actors. Not much 'fan service' but the chemistry between the two main actors was pretty great and the moments they did have were unforgettable. The series also had great social commentary on LGBT issues, definitely something worth checking out. Again, if it wasn't for the rushed second half of episode 4 I would've given this series a solid 9 outta 10 but the ending is completely unforgivable and laughably ridiculous. I need to get this off my chest before moving on
Read this if you don't want to be unpleasantly surprised by the ending like I was. This is my first time writing a review. I am so mad I just couldn't let this go without writing one.
I wish there was a tag in the description that hinted at the sad ending, then I wouldn't have watched this series.
To be honest, I was going to give this drama a solid 9, but then I watched the ending.
I don't know if I'm allowed to go into details, but let's just say it felt like a gigantic ball of ice fell from the sky on a nice summer day and just crushed me. Let me explain.
I absolutely loved the drama until 1.02 into the final episode. Sure, it wasn't perfect but I really enjoyed it for all it was. The acting is, in my opinion, great most of the time and I think the main actors have a good chemistry. The music is also nice. Of course there are elements in this drama that can be found in a lot of other BL dramas, but for me it really had its own vibe. I also love how it handles the subject of LGBT+ and what it does with it, something I haven't (so far) seen any other BL dramas do. The obstacles the main couple had to overcome weren't extreme but I liked that. I mean, they were still difficult enough. The story had me really invested and I was looking forward to the main couples happy ending very much. With less then 15 minutes to go I was ready to say thank you and goodbye to this drama with a smile on my face. Boy was I wrong.
Out of nowhere the most tragic thing that could happen actually happens. And for what?? For me it was absolutely pointless. The whole ending is one big confusion. So much happens in the last 15 minutes, it's insane. I know one shouldn't be surprised by drama being in a drama. Heck, I've watched Until We Meet Again and got my heart ripped out, but that was good tragedy. It made some kind of sense, I could get with the point of the story. What happens in this drama? It doesn't makes sense (to me) at all! They both end up miserable. Yes, both.
In less then 15 minutes I went through shock, denial, sadness, confusion and anger. To say I am unhappy with this ending is an understatement. And it's not because it's a sad ending. Yes, I do not like sad endings, but I can see the beauty in them. I can respect what they add to a series. That wasn't the case for this drama. I think the ending is just really bad.
If you put aside the ending I think this drama is really good and I definitely want you to give it a shot and watch it. To not make this even longer I didn't talk about every single thing I liked about this drama but there is a lot to love. I do recommend you to keep in mind that the ending will punch you in the face. If you really don't like pointless, sad and confusing endings then I recommend you either stop watching at 1.02 (this would have been a nice ending) or don't watch the drama at all.
I was tempted to give a lower score then I have, but I think that would be unfair to everything before the ending. The actors also did a good job. It's just that endings are very important to me so I'm not able to go higher. It would have been a 9 for the story and overall rating from me if it hadn't ended like it did.

The first episode focus on how homosexuality is seen in Thailand. We even get to know some laws about LGBT. I had seen homosexual relationships in other lakorns, which made me think thai society was a lot more open to it than it actually is. Hence, I learned a lot through Grey Rainbow. The second episode focus on real development of the mc relationship. Very natural, not effeminate at all, beautifully done. I even shed a tear. It's not easy to accept oneself when you know you have to sacrifice so much. Then the drama progress on how to annonce such news to their parents and their daily-life. In short, how to love each other like any other couple.
Overall, a very sweet and interesting drama with great sceneries as bonuses.
