Action, Romance, Mystery. These two dramas have it all. There are fighting sequences, suspense, and not to mention it is interesting to see how old kdramas were filmed. Damo is from 2003 and still holds up, that is if you can see past the exaggerating Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon combat. Same goes for Chuno, from 2010; although these dramas are fairly old, I still found them enjoyable to watch in 2019.

when most historical dramas are focused to royal family these 2 dramas are about middle class people and lifestyle which is refreshing.
in both dramas:
*there are two male leads with friends/enemies dynamic and both love same girl
*great fight scenes and martial arts (though Chuno has it better, it has best ever fight choreography and cinematography of it)
*there are many storylines and characters (though Chuno has better developed and interesting side characters, even small 1-2 episode characters are interesting)
*bromances (in Warrior 2 MLs have great and deep bromance, in Chuno 2 ML develop kind of friendly relationship but really good bromance is between ML and his 2 friends/partners)
*politic and royalties are part of the story but not main, it is not too much but enough in both dramas.
*two male leads both are good/interesting characters but different, one of them is more "good guy" and other kind of outlaw. "good guy" is ML in Warrior and SML in Chuno.
*in both dramas two male leads are equally excellent in martial arts.
*environment, society, lifestyle of middle class and casual people, light and positive atmosphere.
*there is one more girl except of female love interest of both guys, main character who is more interesting, layered and loveble character and is in love to ML.

both are good dramas which caches you, but overall Chuno is better drama with it's production quality, cinematography, good and layered main and side characters, acting and greatest fight scenes.

=> sageuk set in King Injo's reign
=> action packed kdramas (expect many fights and martial arts scenes) starring actors who are considered sageuk kings and have also played Wang So (Lee Joon Gi of Iljimae played Wang So in Moon lovers while Jang Hyuk did in Shine or Go Crazy)
=> female lead is demure and a beauty (trivia: Iljimae female lead Han Hyo Joo was actually considered for Lee Da Hae's Chuno role).
=> male lead and female lead knew each other in the past, however it takes many episodes before they meet again
=> there is a second female lead who is more boyish and not as demure as the female lead who hangs out and falls in love with male lead (the character has more screentime with male lead than female lead)

=> Jang Hyuk and Jo Jin Woong are in both historical dramas
=> slave characters play important roles in both dramas

a very good story about revenge and power.

Both are Sauguk/Historical dramas that star Jang Hyuk. Although different in plot, they are alike in that they are both very well written and excellently acted. Each are 24 episodes and a ton of fun to watch!

not so similar, but both have:
*love triangle, unpredictable who will FL choose. For viewer both guys are likable, of course you will ship FL with one (you like) but you will like/love/understand other guy too.
*good historical + romance dramas.
*ML and SML are/become friends,
*quite good side characters and interesting plot (other then romance).

both are really good dramas, not just "one more historical romance", in "Chuno" fight scenes are best I have ever seen, also very unusual charismatic ML, in "King in love" is very good bromance and romance!

heartbreakingly epic. love, justice, hate, revenge, combat, and politics come in all shapes and forms in drama and but These dramas do it beautifully.

Both are wuxia/ about martial arts heroes set during a historical period. Both have great martial arts, great actors, great productions but plot points that are dragged on to frustrating levels that make them not worth watching imo. You might keep watching anyway if youve started them already due to their good points I mentioned and their addictive natures so its better you dont start them in the first place

- Both feature characters who are followers/supporters of Crown Prince Sohyeon who become embroiled in the political turmoil surrounding his death
- Both heavily feature action and fight scenes
