I delayed watching this drama many times, as I've already seen some dramas about time-slip.
When you have watched some time-slip dramas, you will be able to find their similarities. And ofcourse when then you're given another time-slip drama, you will make some prediction how the story will go and get bored when the story really flows the way you predicted it.
But this one was refreshing, totally a different kind of time-slip drama. I really didn't thought that the story goes like that. I'm really glad I watched it.
The story was considerably fast and almost to the point. No draging.
The character of each roles is solid and almost doesn't change. You can easily understand their actions based on their characters.
I found the male character very interesting. Unlike in other time slip dramas (from past to future), where the person learns how to adapt in a funny way, he adapted coolly.
If you're looking for a sweet romance drama, you're totally at the right place.
38% - Romance (9/10)
It wasn't the normal rivalry love interest. It was somehow a tringular love relationship, but the story focused more about the growth of the feelings between the two leads.
And in the end you can also feel how deep their feelings got.
It wasn't a tear-jreking drama, but I cried greatly at one point because I could tell how much they loved each other. (Or at leats how much one of them loved the other one, but I don't want to give a hint which is which)
Both leads had really great chemisrty, as after this drama they decided to really date each other.
17% - Thriller (7/10)
As this drama is has the theme time-slip, it some story parts are about the past.
You know how in most historical drama there is a nobleman who always plots evil? This drama has that too and gives the thrilling aspect. There're a view fighting scenes you can watch, but if you're looking for action drama, "Queen In Hyun's Man" might not be a good choice.
20% - Comedy (8/10)
10% - History & Politics (7,5/10)
Part of this it is like a sageuk drama.
7% - Work/Bussiness: being an actress (6/10)
As the focus of this drama wasn't about being an actress, her actress live wasn't so interesting. But for the storyline to flow, it was enough.

After they found the son the drama then became amazing in my view. I watched it in two days. The story and the acting was great and I was really glad that I did not stop watching the drama.
The acting was really good, I mean it was just wow. I fell in love with Gwi Nam (Yoo JS). I really just thought his acting was brilliant, especially when he was jealous, he made me laugh out loud. I also thought Yoon Hee (Kim NJ) was good, although she annoyed me a bit towards the end but then made up for it again. Overall all the actors did a great job to portray their characters. Also loved the Yi-sook and Jae yong couple. Lee HJ (Cha JY)really surprised me as he was hilarriousssss. I mean just really funny and I don't think I have ever seen him act so laid back.
Well I just want to say that overall it was a really really really good drama. Although it may be long it is definitely worth it. I wasn't hooked on the drama till episode 10 or 11 then it got really great for me. I think you should give it a go, it will definitely brighten up your day. Happy watching.

I usually agree with Japanese ratings because they’re generally objective and I frequently disagree with international ratings because they’re often biased. This time around, I disagree with both of them; this drama doesn’t deserve the low ratings at all.
Kurokouchi isn’t your typical detective drama with an investigation hero or some genius scientist in it. How is it different? For starters, this is not an episodic drama where each episode they solve a case then move to the other one; Kurokouchi takes the 45 year-old 300 Million-Yen robbery case from a different angle. It’s notable to mention that the 300 Million-Yen case is a real robbery that took place in Japan back in 1968 and remains unsolved until today. The storyline is the writer (the mangaka’s Koji Kono and Takashi Nagasaki)’s hypothesis about what actually happened.
This drama is more of a crime mystery thriller than a detective drama; there are too many dark moments going on that differentiate Kurokouchi from any other detective drama. Of course, this remains as an investigation plot with a police department and detectives but there’s more than that to the storyline. It goes into depth of thrilling events with unexpected turns that make you eager to know what will happen next. The variety of developments and side stories that are always connected to the main robbery are a major strength point that counts for this drama.
The acting was pretty good. The performance by Nagase and Watabe Atsuro were quite remarkable; it’s been a long time since I haven’t seen them in anything that I forget how great they can be at portraying their characters. As for Gouriki, I will leave it at “Passable”; I think the main problem that people are finding with Ayame is her repetitive appearance on TV dramas and her lack of roles’ diversity. I didn’t hate her acting but I despised her character, she was a waste a space and a typical prey of “female dumb police partner” personality who knows nothing but asking stupid questions and lurking around for nothing. I wish that Japanese would change some of their female detectives’ characters. It’s about time that we get some strong, hardcore female investigators in the police department.
As for the male lead; this drama displays an anti-hero, a police officer who’s nothing like any other detective you saw before. He’s someone who affiliates with corrupted politicians, someone that you can never predict what he will do next. Kurokouchi always manages to surprise us with his choices and unexpected revelations. What also makes the character quite fascinating is its dark humor; it’s quite likeable even if it sounds hateful. On the other hand, there’s Sawatari: a manipulative silent character who always smiles no matter what. I happen to like those types of characters so I grew an ultimate liking to his way of thinking and it didn’t even matter that he was an evil figure in the drama.
Other characters were pretty well written to suit the diversity of crime stories and side events that always occurred in this drama. However, some of them weren't quite good and I still can't get over the sudden disappearance of a certain character.
In a line, the music suited the drama’s detective theme in a good way.
As usual, the rewatch value is always low for suspense twisty dramas that lose their factor of surprise once rewatched.
Watch this if:
-You enjoy non-episodic detective dramas.
-You like real stories but remember that this is only based on a hypothesis.
-You’re in the mood for a Japanese Crime/Thriller.
-You happen to like Nagase Tomoya.
Do not watch if:
-You’re not interested in detective dramas.
-You dislike Nagase Tomoya.
Kurkouchi ‘s definitely one of the best produced Detective dramas this year even if it’s underrated both nationally and internationally.

This movie... where do I even begin... I forgot to breathe in so many parts! I was laughing and crying and just praying for dear life in this disaster film. You'll fall in love with so many characters and, just like many disaster films, you have to hope and pray your favorite characters do not die.
I highly recommend this movie. It is not the best but it is certainly one of my favorite disaster films right now.

It Started with a Kiss

While I was still watching all my dramas on HULU, this was suggested for me after I completed Heartstrings. When I realized that it was the very same story as Playful Kiss I was really very excited. Even though I wasn't a big a fan as most with the execution of the Korean version, I really loved the story itself. So I was sold, I liked the concept so much I was very ready to give a different version a try.
As a whole, I liked this version better than the Korean version. However, I still couldn't quite connect with the characters as much as I would have liked. That's not to say I didn't enjoy the show, because I did enjoy it a lot. Though I think it has something to do with the lead role, she was as immature and ditzy in this version as she had been in the Korean version. It might be that character archetype that I can't handle, because that was one of my main turn offs with Playful Kiss. Everything about Yuan Xiang Qin was overly exaggerated and blown out of proportion. I could not empathize with her very well and that made it so I wasn't as invested in the feels.
The main lead, Jiang Zhi Shu, was great. For me the actor, Joe Cheng, did a much better job with the role. Throughout the entire show he showed growth and he evolved as he realized that he truly did love her. Xiang Qin felt much more static, she remained somewhat childish throughout. Towards the very end she did take major steps in growing up, but for me it felt almost a little too late to really be effective. The thing that I enjoyed the most about Zhi Shu is that when he decided that he was going to accept his feelings for Xiang Qin he actually showed her affection. He hugged her, kissed her, and generally made contact with her in a warm and sweet way. You could see his love for her.
Zhi Shu's mother was very intense as well. She falls into the same category as Xiang Qin herself. I had a hard time handling her and at times found myself fast forwarding through her scenes or wandering away from the computer for them. On the other hand, the bromance between the fathers Jiang Wan Li and Yuan Cai was so adorable. I could have watched an entire show about them. I also really enjoyed the romance between Ah Jin and Christine, they were very cute.
The chemistry between the main leads, Ariel Lin and Joe Cheng, was phenomenal. Even though the Xiang Qin character was a little grating and immature, I couldn't help but love any scene that had Xiang Qin and Zhi Shu together. You could feel the attraction and tenderness when they were together, especially for the scenes when it was just the two of them. I would watch this again just for their romantic scenes.
This was an entertaining watch. I did like it better than Playful Kiss, but it was a little too immature all the way around for me. But for a light and fluffy watch with a huge does of the warm-fuzzies this is a great choice.

Here's how I felt about the Coach who was vying for Riko's love. Did you ever go out with a good looking guy and he turned out to be disappointing, unimaginative, and boring. That's how I felt about Coach. He just didn't draw out sympathy from the viewer with his plight. And not to be too critical, but I just didn't care for Naoki's wild hair. He looks better with dark, straight hair.
The music was so, so. In summary, it wasn't stirring enough to watch or rewatch.
