The Story
This drama banks on the many kinds of love triangle it has.
I like the love triangle among Chef Rak, Ja-yong, and Sung-sook. It's really adorable when these middle-aged people discover love, jealousy, and friendship in their age. I actually fell for their dynamics first before I liked the main triangle.
Now, to the main love triangle.. I salute Na-ri
for her personality. I tend to love the unconventional heroines we have in our dramas. The love triangle with her, Hwa-shin and Jung-won is totally crazy. I've never seen a drama take on its main point of conflict in the way this drama did. It was painful yet hilarious. I am even confused on how I should react on their take about the confusing love triangle.
This drama might even make it as a family drama cause it got everytging in it. From a father-daughter relationship, mother-son/daughter, the sisterhood, the bromance.. It's complete and I love it.
The Cast
I love Go Gyung-pyo as Sun-woo in Reply 1988 and his role as Jung-won is still as perfect.
I like him but Hwa-shin really has his way of winning you over. I feel like I'm watching a puppy whenever I watched Jo Jung-suk as Hwa-shin.
Gyung-pyo acts well but I can tell how the difference in experience is by seeing Jong-suk's acting. Oh, the challenge to make us laugh, he really gave his all.
I really like Gong Hyo-jin ever since so there's not much I can say. The way she laughs and cries are just so real that I can sympathize (no matter how ridiculous the situation is.)
I'm giving full points to Chi-yeol (Na-ri's younger brother) for making me like him since his very firat scene. I do like to have a younger brother like him. Hehe.
I love all characters but, for me, Jo Jung-suk really made this drama ridiculously lovable.
Rewatch Value
It is a bit long but I think I can manage. ;)
The Music
Oh, loved it. And now that it has ended...

I found out that the script was written by the writer of White Christmas. I couldn’t say enjoy because there’s no way that plot was enjoyable. Ha ha. But I was amazed by that drama. With that, I started watching Age of Youth with just knowing this and that it’s about five female college students living in the same apartment.
The Story
The drama is about the daily lives of the five female college students. I am currently in my 20s so I could somehow relate with their lives. The girls started with a lot of tension because of how different they are from each other but then soon realizing that it was normal for different people living in the same house have conflicts. The girls are in different levels in college and their personality suits them well. Their diverse personality matches well for a great dynamics among the housemates. It helps that each episode centers on one topic and that we get to see the point of view of each of them.
I was shocked and creeped out that there was a bit of a mystery to this slice-of-life drama. The mystery was incorporated well in the story for us to know more about each of the girls. I ended up invested on each of their story and kept on rooting for them with their lives and their love lines.
The Cast
I love the girls. At first, I don’t like Ye-eun that much because she’s the typical chic girl with all her clingy tendencies with her boyfriend. After having a few episodes knowing her point of view on things, I find her relatable and just like every other girl. Sunbae Yoon is someone to respect and Kang Yi-na is definitely a unique character but she I definitely learned a thing or two from her on the value of life. Song Ji-won is the life among the crowd and I love how funny she was most of the time. I sympathized early on with Eun-jae maybe because that is just how I am initially when being in a new environment and meeting new people.
Five girls means a lot of love lines to ship (my favorite is that of Eun-jae’s. Honestly, after watching so many Kdramas, this was the first time that I felt so lonely that I’m single. Haha.
I don’t specifically like any of the other girls because at some point in my life, I’ve been one of these girls.
Rewatch Value
It wouldn’t hurt that much to rewatch a 12-epsiode drama :)
Overall
This is a slice-of-life for women and college students on how they experience life, problems, and love at their very first stage of their adulthood.

Love in the Moonlight

We've seen this story of a cross-dresser female lead stealing the heart of our hero but this time, the story had a more youthful vibe. I am a self-confessed Bogummy fan and I must say that I totally love him. After having him as Taek (in Reply 1988), I forgot how awesome an actor he was for all the diverse roles he had play. Having him as Lee Young is one of the best things that could ever happen. I love him as a mischievous prince who knows how to play his happy-go-lucky image to protect the most coveted throne against the evil forces. All kinds of emotions and definitely his portrayal of this role has undeniably the cause of the so-called "Park Bo-gum effect."
Kim Yoo-jung is definitely a very fine actress in the making. She is so adorable as a girl acting as a eunuch of a prince and as a love guru before she entered the palace. She's the prettiest in sageuks and I wish I could have seen her dress more as a girl. Bo-gum and Yoo-jung has good chemistry between them.
I don't find this drama perfect (despite my love for Bogummy) and there are certain things that I don't like about it. I am not a die-hard fan of sageuks and I find it difficult to care about the political aspects of the story and who knows if I overlooked anything. It's not that I only watched Bo-gum's scenes, it's just that I paid extra less attention to scenes where the dirty politics comes in. I had to bear with this for sake of plot development. Haha. This also means how effective Premier Kim and the other officials as the villain in this story because I am totally pissed off with them.
The thing that I think that this drama should regret is not utilizing Chae Soo-bin's role as Jo Ha-yeon well. Where else can you get a second lead that is smart, honest, and loyal as her? I love her character and I just wish she had more story written for her because her character deserves more than this.
I also felt cheated that I lost the bromance between Lee Young and Byung Yun early on in the story to give way to more romance between the Crown Prince and Ra On. It’s I felt that we spent too much time on how sweet the main lead is to each other that the second leads already lost their chance before they even tried. Well at least Yoon—sung has a lot of part in the whole story.
The beginning part of this drama is what really captivated me - Lee Young's antics as a troublemaker and his interactions with Hong Sam Nom and Byung Yun are the best for me. That felt like the glory days of the drama, and I'm not sure if it's about the extension, but it really became a stretch during the later parts of the drama. Though, in my opinion, the drama redeemed itself in the last two hours of its run.
To the drama's credit, it has its strong points since most the most of its run, I didn't feel cheated of the happiness and (sometimes) loneliness of the characters. The writer knows just how long is enough for us to feel the obstacle that the main lead is facing and when to resolve and wrap things up nicely. Every week feels like I'm having a fight with somebody and making sure that you don't sleep angry with each other. The scenes are well-directed and edited that everything about the drama goes together real well.
This drama has a very good collection of OST and having Park Bo-gum sing one is totally love, love. love.
Overall, the drama is adorable and cute mainly due to the cast, very well thought of in terms of the flow of the plot (most of the time), acted well from all of the characters. I kind of have a lot of complaints but its mainly because of the limited bromance I got and neglecting the second lead who could have done more. For all this, I still think that the drama deserves the love it's receiving. By the time ended, I have butterflies in my stomach, flowers around me, and a lot of hearts in my eyes. It was beautiful drama. Indeed, beautiful.

Amanti della Luna: Scarlet Heart Ryeo

Moon Lovers is a remake of a Chinese drama with its story modified to fit the Goryeo setting. This one is a challenging story to execute with a lot of Goryeo princes to build up (and destroy too) and a modern girl transported to live in their period. I love how refreshing the first few episodes were. A female-centric story just lost its way along the way. I'd like to think that these amazing actors are shooting a different drama at some point because sometimes I don't even understand why a certain character acted that way. At some point some of the characters just went incoherent and crazy.
It's very rare to assemble such amazing cast and they really did a good job. I love Lee Jun-ki even before and I rarely watch sageuk, but if it's him, I'll surely try it out. Kang Haneul is the best! I've seen him in his other dramas but he just made me amazed in him. I'm totally sold with Wook's love story with Soo. I like Nam Joo-hyuk here as the only brother who's close with So and the bromance he briefly shared with Jung. There's a lot of amazing cast that I will no longer mention all of them. Even the portrayal of Yeon Hwa and the Queen Mother is an act to behold.
I love the story, the cast and acting, the music, the cinematography (I'm talking about shots of landscapes here), all of which are almost perfect for me.
What I really don't like about this is how the direction of the drama went. I don't think that this is a matter of messy writing cause I believe there's a limit on how a good drama can be ruined. The drama's greatest flaw will definitely be its editing which is a big part of its directing. I think SBS learned their lesson on having a fully pre-produced drama that came out half-baked. The confusion it cause when we had two different versions for a single version will never be justified. It may be unfair to the drama to be evaluated because of these things but since watching Korean drama should be a wholistic experience, I can't just ignore it.
I finished this drama definitely because of the great actors in it. Such an amazing display of talent there is in Korea. I will forever treasure it's characters and remember them on those bright moments at the beginning of the drama.

I watched several dramas before this but this might be the first drama that had me smiling, crying, angry, all in good way.
The Story: 9.5
The typical square-love story we had in dramas was made interesting when the main guy falls for someone who he thinks is also a guy.
The story is about Go Eun-chan, a hardworking breadwinner of her family, who acts as the boyfriend of chaebol Choi Han-kyul and soonafter work at his flower boy coffee shop. Choi Han-kyul is a third-gen chaebol of a food company established by his grandmother. He is irresponsible and all so when his family asked him to find a suitable wife, he went around showing people that he is gay by hiring “boyfriend” Go Eun-chan. Go Eun-chan has a crush on Choi Han-kyul’s cousin, Choi Han-sung. While Choi Han-kyul has a long-term one-sided crush on his cousin’s ex-girlfriend, Han Yoo-joo. Yeah, it’s complicated. Ha ha.
I love how each of the characters were given their own stories to tell and that each character made this whole coffee prince universe a more colorful and lovable place. There were times in the story that will really make you feel good and sometimes tear your heart apart. And in each of that moment, each character gave more meaning to it. It felt like this is not just a drama to watch but a real story to tell. The story is sometimes lighthearted, heartbreaking, but most times, heartwarming as coffee.
The Cast: 9.5
I adore Yoon Eun-hye here. I first watched her in Princess Hours and she definitely is the most feminine kind of feminine. It's amazing how she give life to our hardworking Go Eun-chan.
And Gong-yoo is sooo amazing in his role as Choi Han-kyul. He is kind of the manly man for me so whenever he grins and smiles childishly at Eun-chan, I just melt. He is my forever love.
I even love Chae Jung-an and Lee Sun-kyun here in their roles, This may also be the first show in Korea where flower boys are gathered into one coffee shop. Even the older characters are adorable here and you understand where they are coming from. Sometimes even if the characters something unlikable, I still love them.
Music: 9.5
Having a music producer as one of the characters of this drama sort of automatically calls for an amazing music in this drama. Needless to say, I love the music here. I love almost every song in their Original Soundtrack and I still do remember the songs.
Rewatch Value: 9.5
By now, I am not sure how many times I have rewatched this but the emotions I felt have not yet changed. I still laugh at those funny moments, cry at those hurtful times, and feel kilig for our main couple.
The drama is not that old but this is a classic for me. It was kind of the first love I had for dramas.

The Story
Bong-pal (a college boy who sees ghosts) and Hyun-ji (a high school ghost girl) who paired up to exorcize evil ghosts is good enough to create a lot of bickering and hijinks to our story. It's a plus that there's a bit of a cohabitation to lead the romance between our leads. It's entertaining to see how Bong-pal doesn't want to be affected by other people but can't help care for Hyun-ji (who wouldn't find Kim So-hyun adorable anyway?). The drama is formatted to have weekly ghosts to fight and surely, the ghosts here are super scary. I've seen a few Kdrama with ghosts but this might be the scariest I've seen so far (I've warned you!).
What I don't like about the plot is that the drama couldn't execute the suspense in the way I expected. The story became a bit predictable early on in its run but I just enjoyed the events as they happen.
For me, the value of this show actually comes from how much I adore its cast more than from how the story or plot was written.
The Cast
I'm actually worried a lot when they casted Kim So-hyun as Hyun-ji (the ghost girl) because she's still too W young. How will I be able to get those witty and comical situations between our OTP a la Oh My Ghost if our lead is still minor? But surely, Kim So-hyun is an amazing actress whose now ready to take on her lead role in a show. She is so adorable as a caerefree and strong-willed ghost.
I'm not really picking on Taecyon him being an idol-actor. It's a bit of a let down that whenever there's an emotional scenes for his character, he's unable to pull me in with his acting. Other than that, I felt that he did a good job on his action scenes and the scenes with Kim So-hyun. I do find him adorable, despite being the big guy that he is, when he is with her.
Of course, I wouldn't forget to mention our crazy soondae soup crew. Cheon-sang and In-rang (Kang Ki-yang and Lee David) is that unique source of joy found in this show. This crazy duo never failed to make a single situation extra hilarious than it should have been without them, it's a different kind of bromance. I've seen both actors in other shows bit this is my favorite so far.
Rewatch Value
I think I'll be skipping a bit on those ghosts.
Overall
I loved this show for its adorable cast and eady to watch story.

Was urged to watch this drama after seeing this as recommendation on almost every comment section of dramas I've watched.
The Story: 10
What I know before watching the drama is that the leads are detectives/police. So when I started watching the drama, I had no idea about the walkie talkie connection. It is a challenge to create a drama dealing with the time paradox as one of its main theme (I haven’t watched Nine yet and I am disappointed with Marry Him If You Dare so I am basing my comments on the time traveling theme on the good animes I’ve watched).
Park Hae-young of 2015 is the profiler who initially connected with Detective Lee Jae-han of 2000 while solving a case related to his childhood. He crossed paths with Detective Cha Soo-hyun and her team and after solving one case, they were brought together to form a team that solves cold cases. I love romantic comedies and all, but I have a separate appetite for dramas of this kind. I’m gripped and intrigued by the first hour of the drama and I was wondering whether how they will pull off a drama while playing the past and the future.
I have to commend the writer for stitching every detail of the plot to create this wonderful drama. For this to work, the rules of the connection between the past and the future must be logically established to be convincing and that there is a way to resolve the convoluted conflicts that our characters encountered. Having a different future for every changed past event is convincing enough for me though it sometimes break my heart to see that in some cases, the change was for the worst and not the better.
The Cast: 9.5
Lee Je-hoon did well with his role as a profiler who hates police officers. He became jarred because of the things that happened to him in the past but had remained innocent and hopeful that cold cases can be solved. Kim Hye-soo surely fits the role of the tough team lead for the cold case department but is much the same effective being the inexperienced maknae when she was starting. Cho Jin-woong is such an awesome guy for his character. I love his sincerity towards the cases he handles, his firmness in upholding what he believes in, and his awkwardness when dealing with first love and the like.
Even the villains here are so effective that I want to kick and punch them while watching.
Music: 8
I have nothing against the music, it’s just that I am really not much of a fan for the music used in this kind of dramas.
Rewatch Value:
I can rewatch this all the time until they give me a Season 2!

I anticipate come back shows of actors who have completed their military service so I was expecting something from this show. I have read negative comments about the show because of the age gap between Yoon Shi-yoon and Kim Sae-ron but I must say that, while watching, the age gap didn't really show that much.I'm not a fan of super loooong historical dramas but I do love them (I've only sit through all episodes of Dong Yi, others I skimmed only). My first impression is that the show is a bit of Moon Embracing the Sun and Arang mixed together.
I love the supporting characters but the one I like most is Hong-joo (the shamaness). The actress really embodied being the evil shaman and just by her stares, I can feel the hate/fear/worry/evil happiness she felt. And of course, I do love our main couple. Sometimes, I really wonder whether Kim Sae-ron is really that young to deliver an acting this much. Oh, Yoon Shi-yoon, I can stare through those eyes all day and feel all his emotions. There is real chemistry between them and I felt the love and intimacy between them despite the very limited skinship there is in the drama (Sae-ron is still a minor). I want a reunion. Soon. But maybe I can wait until Kim Sae-ron becomes an adult and they can do more than what i have seen *winks*.
Story-wise, the show really did deliver. Most of the times I feel like a certain event will likely happen but then it goes the other way. The plot didn't drag that much despite having 20 episodes though there are times that I felt, here we go again. For a historical drama with an expected tragic ending, the show satisfied me knowing that the direction of the story is logical and it didn't seem forced.
*spoiler* REACTION ON ENDING I was really sad with how the show ended, I felt the regret right there.

First impressions: Watching the first episode is real challenge. Our main lead is a person who doesn't feel emotions so he was really off-putting for starters and also this is my first time watching Jang Hyuk. I can't also connect with Park So-dam's character. I'm not invested in the story yet, the characters nor the actors at first, but I still carried on.
What lasts: I kept on watching the drama and it really did grew on me. I no longer find the main lead annoying but instead I found his experiences and relationships worth knowing and relatable. I find him very hardworking in a sense that he knows that there is something scientifically wrong with his.brain and yet he still makes an effort on becoming a good doctor. I liked his relationships with the nurses, residents, and his fellow doctors (those power Rangers are really funny) - how they find him heartless and frightening at first but righteous and amazing in the end. I do like him with Ji Sung and she relly helped him change emotionally (though he doesn't have it).
I found myself waiting for this (compared to that other drama with doctors) later on. It' really more of a human drama and more focused on the main lead and his relationships instead of just the romance.
The show proved that efforts do pay off. The drama is definitely for all. Afrer all, it isn't fluffy and soft.

I always like stories of underdogs who turned their life around. But Doctors is the story after our heroine turned her life around which made it less interesting than how I thought it would be. If I am to choose which part I liked the most, I'll divide Doctors into: the hospital politics, the romance, Hye-jung's past, and the other characters. Out of these, I'll select 'the other characters' as my favorite. I really don't care much about the hospital politics and I found Hye-jung's past frustrating. I like the romance, don't get me wrong, cause they really are cute at times, I like how they are supposed to be together to grow and enjoy life together. It's just that after a few episodes of getting together, I think it was way too much.
The Cast
This drama have its fair share of good actors and actresses. I love our heroine badass so when she started softening around the edges, I find myself liking her less or less (or is it just the story?). I like Lee Sung-kyung's character until everything got frustrating on her storyline. Lee Sung-kyung's character always end up being sympathetic but frustrating (I do hope to find her in something better). Kim Min-suk and Yoon Kyu-sang keeps me watching and the other side characters. It also helped that this drama invested in cameos. I could have stopped watching this until Nam Goong-min cameod.
Rewatch Value
I can't watch the last episodes without skipping on a LOT of scenes so...
Overall
I did enjoy Doctors for most of the beginning run. I just found it too long with not enough plot to cover. Funny how everything goes around like karma here. But, the last episodes are thoughtful and somehow lifted what I felt about this drama (though there really are a lot of rolling eyes that happened while I'm watching).

The Story
A Robin Hood story will always be an awesome sight specially when set as a historical drama. When I watch historical dramas, I have this feeling that it is bound for a doomed ending. Iljimae is a character that I like really slowly during the drama. Well, it is difficult to like a hero who is a bum and as worse as thugs. The drama manage to make every single obstacle and heartbreak matter on how to turn Ryung into the Iljimae everyone admire. The hero is imperfect but his cause is for the people.
Sometimes, I do get confused with the flow of the story because I feel like I've been missing out on a few things caused by some inconsistencies. There were scenes that should have been during the night but suddenly becomes morning. That's just a small thing I noticed but I did get confused. Other than that, everything works for me.
The Cast
Lee Jun-ki will always be good in a sageuk. He really knows where he excels and totally loks good. It breaks my heart everytime I see him agonized. What a way to steal hearts. Though I like Jun-ki, I sometimes do hate how his character remain to be the easygoing and selfish. But that is his mask to protect his identity that I am painfully watching him act stupid.
The supporting cast is amazing because I get to care for each of them, though I really don't remember their names. Hehe. I mind how their fates are tied to Iljimae and keep on rooting for them to have a happy ending.
And, I wouldn't miss to mention how adorable Yoo Jin-goo and Kim Yoo-jung is as the young version of our leads. They are so cute that I'm pinching their cheeks while watching it. :) I want to watch Han Yoo-joo and Lee Jun-ki together again to live an alternate life that is sweet and breezy.
Rewatch Value
I don't mind watching it again. Though sageuks really are a bit of a challenge.
Overall
I'm not really fond of historical dramas but I always tune in to Lee Jun-ki's. This one did not magically enchant me to love it but I felt compelled to watch every single episode and invested on how he will achieve his goals as Iljimae while keeping the people he loves safe.

The Story
I honestly didn't like this at first sight because the whole setup of the drama is really frustrating and saddening. How lonely is it to do your work properly and still have those with money trample on you? But once my In-guk and the Squad was gathered, it was purely intense and suspenseful project to finish. It's really rare to watch a drama with twists and turns every episode which makes you wonder what will happen to our squad. The schemes, conflicts, and escape routes are all well thought of and executed.
The Cast
I don't think I need to say much about Seo In-guk so I'll skip that *swoons*. Ma Dong-seok is awesome. He really is amazing by acting as the oppressed chief of the tax collection department. The other supporting characters complimented each other during their heists. There is no clear line here as to who is good or evil which makes our characters multi-faceted and deep.
Overall
While watching it, I realized that this is hardcore crazy. This is definitely not fluffy and easy to watch bu5 it's exciting. I found out that I'm so good with the making sounds because it left me saying "eeeeeek", "iiiiihhhh", "aaaaah", "oooooh" and "uuuugh" all those times.

I am unsure whether the show made the right decision in having the 90-minute format, but this choice led them to skip a week to cover up the whole length of their episodes. Also, this hurts the rewatch value of the drama. It's kind of quite a long drama for rewatching or marathoning. I have several friends who dropped the drama because each episode is just too long.
I don't doubt tvn's capability of creating actors and actresses out of their dramas. I have Kyung-pyo and Bo-gum since Cantabile Tomorrow and well, Gyung-pyo was already adorable. I don't know Jung-hwan and Dong-hwi yet so I am not to judge. I really had my doubts on Hyeri's capability to star in a Reply series since the predecessors were mainly focused on the female leads. It was a good thing that the guys were really good and that there were a lot of them that you don't get to focus and nitpick on Hyeri's acting, though I must say she did a good job. The ensemble (they really did well all together!) of the youths and the parents were so good that I loved every single bit of the show.
Reply 1988: Why do I love thee? Let me count the reasons...
1. Unlike its predecessors, Reply 1988 did not focus on the who-did-she-marry quiz show and instead focus more on how each and every one of our leads lived their youth and their relationship with their families. Show, you somehow manage to make it a deal to keep us thinking but not really dwell on who she ends up with.
2. You gave each character their own set of family. They were a daughter or son, a brother or sister, and a friend before being someone else's love. This gave each character more depth and life than the previous series.
3. I love that the kids have their own circle of friends, and so do their parents. I love how they share every mundane things in their life up to their lives' biggest challenges. You really did well on giving us such lovable parents for the main characters, show.
4. Just like the previous series, you have a certain theme or lesson for each episode that goes all around the neighborhood and shows how each family deals with that (There was an episode about how strong and weak fathers are at the same time.).
5. You made me love every single character of yours. They were written so well and given life so well. I was really sympathetic with every single one of them (though I still like Bora the least).
6. You made me cry and laugh through the downs and ups of the characters. This is how deeply touched I am with the characters and the plot.
7. I should really thank you, show, for the bromance you have shown me. Where will I ever see a Sun-woo and a Jung-hwan? A Jung-hwan and a Taek? A Sun-woo and a Taek? All the boys, and Dong-ryong? I always get kilig by that love between these boys. This is the real gem you had and THAT I REALLY LIKE THEM SO MUCH I CAN'T GET OVER <3

I find the show easy to watch early in its run (I was watching Mirror of the Witch and this show kind of balance it out). I love how Gong Shim and Dan Tae interacts with each other and how they live their daily lives. Somehow, the main plot of Dan Tae'skidnapping, Jun Pyo rather, was somehow the least of the important things for me in the show. So when the show focused on it during the latter part of the show, I got a little impatient on how things are going.
My ratings are what I objectively think Beautiful Gong Shim should be evaluated and not how much I enjoyed it. Overall, the show made me laugh and sad for the leads in a way I didn't expect.
P.S. I think it will take another drama or two to totally forget Nam Goong-min's role in Girl Who Sees Smells and Remember.

The Story
I always love things with something supernatural about it. And a trip to the past )or future) always makes me excited and worried on how our writers will manage to make the main couple together. The story is straightforward as described in the synpsis.
The Cast
I don't usually watch mini dramas but I can't miss a Kim Seul-gi show. I've watched her since Flower Boys Next Door and truly knows how hilarious she can be so I am definitely following her. It is kind of challenging to think that she is THE main lead for this drama since she is just a supporting character in her previous dramas (though she is a lead in Oh My Ghostess, she didn't actually get the guy). I keep on picturing all her funny antics but really, she just acts amazingly. She can be very funny and sympathetic in her characters. I don't know much about Yoon Doo-joon but he has great chemistry with Kim Seul-gi (reunion, please!)
The Music
Not really a critic of music (I don't even understand the Korean songs) but I appreciate that I didn't feel bored while watching this.
Rewatch Value
It won't hurt much to rewatch a 2-episode drama, right?
