In brief: mom, fan of many things, occasionally strings words into something resembling a story, sings in the car

I don't post on social media much at all anymore. But I like to read to keep up when I can. :)

Novel version:

Hi! I'm Rachel. My primary fandom is my two super-awesome offspring. :) Otherwise, I've loved too many shows and movies to list them all. The Princess Bride is my favorite movie of all time, with The Lord of the Rings, Rurouni Kenshin, and Cornetto trilogies, and Indiana Jones pentalogy being close seconds. I've been a big fan of British TV for awhile and was active in the Robin Hood BBC and Merlin BBC fandoms, with a decent bibliography at AO3 and FFN under the penname railise.

My addiction to Japanese movies and dramas began with the RuroKen movies, which then led me to watch Bitter Blood and Umi no Ue no Shinryujo for Satoh Takeru and Takei Emi, since I loved their portrayals of Kenshin and Kaoru. When I came across Liar Game about a month later, I had a hard time believing Akiyama was played by the same actor who played Kota, and quickly became a firm Matsuda Shota fan as I saw more of his work-- at this point, it's quicker to list what I haven't seen of his than what I have, lol. The same is true for Matsuoka Masahiro, who first caught my attention through Manhattan Love Story and has kept it with every other project he's done.  I became a fan of Arashi courtesy of Kagi no Kakatta Heya, and Honou no Tenkousei REBORN/Blazing Transfer Students led me to WEST. fandom (Hama-chan's my #1 :)), which finally led me into the wider world of STARTO talents. I'm completely panfandom at this point, although I'm less familiar with the younger groups than the senpai groups.

I tend to rate fairly high. I'm easy to please as a viewer, so you've really got to screw up badly for me to flat-out hate something. A 7 means it wasn't my cup of tea, but was pretty well done; or that it was my cup of tea, but could've stood some improvements. A 5 means I had fundamental problems with a drama but admit it still had positive qualities. Any lower than that... well, anything lower than a 5 is my way of saying, "Your time is better spent watching paint dry."
