Slice of life at it's best
This title has been on my list to watch on Netflix since last year. It was only last week that I got to start it.Have you ever watched a drama wherein the summarized plot basically told you nothing about the story and you go in totally unprepared for it? Well, this is one such drama.
EP 1 didn't give me a hint on what this drama would be about although it did pique my interest. Sometimes you just want a drama about life and My Mister doesn't disappoint.
I loved the relationship of the 3 siblings. Middle-aged they may be, but they can still act like boys when they argue. They may not be rich and down on their luck (the 2 brothers at least); but they proved that you are never too old to learn something new. I myself had a 9 to 5 career before and now I am helping manage a business that is totally different from what I was used to.
I also like their mom. Moms will always be moms no matter what the age of their child. They are already nearing their 50's and yet, she still wakes up early to prepare their lunch boxes.
As to IU's performance, I was initially bored with her expression. But as the story progressed, you can understand the choices she made.
The drama itself is full of colorful characters and the story is refreshingly different from the rom-coms, adultery, chaebols, revenge stories I have been watching. Definitely recommending this if you want a realistic story about life.

No chemistry
I am watching this just because I want to know how it ends. I rated the rewatch value at 1 because everything about this series grates on my nerves. The acting of the lead characters is sooo over the top. There are also inconsistencies when it comes to the rivalry of the male leads. I find the younger guy irritating as well. Not only his acting but his face as well. The only characters I enjoyed was the girl's parents. Other than that, no other cast members are even worth mentioning. There is no logic as to why a pharma firm would invest in a webtoon company. It seems as if the storyline wasn't really given much effort.Questa recensione ti è stata utile?
Fun ride...
I was initially a skeptic when I saw that this would be a series instead of a movie. Because, how long can you drag a zombie apocalypse??Was i ever wrong! From the very first episode, I was drawn in to the world of Hyosan high school students. The series had a perfect balance of light and scary moments. Comedic lines were properly timed just when you need a break from the heavy, adrenaline pumping, zombie chases.
But what I really liked about this, was the valid reason why the Professor invented the virus in the first place. The viewers were not left to wonder as to why these zombies came about. Unlike The Walking Dead, wherein no explanation was given as to their presence.
I still have a few episodes left, but I am wishing for another season already....

slow drama with poor chemistry
Despite my rating, I am going to finish this drama (fast forwarding at times), just to see how it ends. Because, let's be honest, dramas about cheating are some of the most watched genres.CONS:
- no chemistry between the leads
- that drab green coat. It is as if Hae Won has nothing else to wear except that. Glad to be finally rid of it at ep 9. Didn't like the actress in Hospital Playlist, and nothing has changed after seeing her here.
- the actress portraying Hee Joo. Her voice when she speaks to her in-laws sounds like she is trying hard to come off as a nice person. She smiles at the most inopportune times. The role is conflicting because one moment she is angered that these 2 people from her past might disrupt her perfect life. And yet, she keeps putting herself into situations that would require her to have interactions with them.
- too many unnecessary characters. Hee Joo's mom and grandfather, Hae Won's brother and the creepy old lady who keeps calling him a murderer, the bartender, the billiard hall owner and his daughter Joo Yong.
- the disrespectful son and daughter of Hee Joo, both of whom need to be taken down a peg or two
- the unreasonable plot wherein Hee Joo stayed for several years in Ireland and lived with her boy toy while raising their baby, all while she was married
PROS
- none actually. Just feel that the only one who can act among the leads are the two guys.
So, just like Penthouse season 3, this is just something I have to finish which is why I am still watching it. LOL

Great chemistry
This was actually one of my most anticipated series, being a fan of Kim Hyun Joo and Ji Jin Hee. As a couple, they have one of the best on screen chemistry I have ever seen. Really great and believable acting.Casting Yeon Woo Jin and Han Sun Hwa was also a good choice. Both of them could pass off as the younger versions of the lead because their looks bear some similarities. These two also work well together and it would be nice to see them in a new project, taking on lead roles.
Storywise, the drama was a bit slow in its development and only started to pick up by the 10th episode. Nevertheless, it has a good cast of characters who make the story worth watching.

Another cheating drama trope
Let's face it, themes like these are all too common in kdramas these days. And while it may seem to be the same old, same old; there is still something about these dramas that make me want to see it through until the end. (Despite the flaws)Casting wise, this is my first time seeing the ML and FLs. The mistress does a good job of making you hate her character that sometimes I want to slap her silly. The ML, doesn't seem to fit the typical ML mould. He doesn't have that strong of an impact for me. The character reminds me of my sister in law's personality. Greedy to the max
The extra characters, nosy neighbors???? Very poor acting. What is it with that woman who gets physically abused and yet acts as if it is a normal thing??? Their poor attempts to add a lighter note to the drama by providing "comedic" relief is laughable, and not in a good way. I know that there are always these extra characters every time, but this group does nothing for the drama and are better written off.
P.S. The only thing I admire in these chaebol lives is their houses. The setting and interiors are almost always really unique.
So, if you are into these type of dramas, you can give this a go and hopefully not fall asleep.

Light rom com
After watching several dreary and boring dramas on Netflix, Love to Hate You is such a refreshing strange.First time to see both leads, (can't remember them fro Arthdal) and love their chemistry. It is always nice to see a kdrama with mature actors. They bring in a totally different vibe.
Kim Ji Hoon is now one of my fav actors. He's proving his versatility by tackling different roles since I first saw him in Flower of Evil. He is also one of the characters I like in Money Heist. I wish he would be given a lead role in a rom com soon.
I wish this drama was longer (around 12 episodes), but the pacing is fast enough that the viewer doesn't get bored at all.

Makjang to the highest level
I knew going in that this drama would be extreme in every way possible. But since I watched the first part, had to finish it with this second part. This second season has introduced 2 new characters and of these 2, I'm not liking the aunt. Does she really talk that way??? Acting wise...thumbs down for me. The show has put in so much twist and turns that it feels like it has now become dragging. I just watched ep 12 and franky, fast forwarded several scenes. I'm getting tired just thinking about those 4 last episodes coming.. (Tired but still watching till the end).
As expected, the story has veered far.... far... far.... far off course to the point that you might have forgotten how it started out in the first place. Ah, Bang Da Mi, the series of events your demise triggered....... totally unrecognizable.. LOL
Anyway, they should have stopped this series at ep 10 because it has honestly been going on for too long.....

Not liking the concept (Might drop it eventually)
By concept I meat the idea behind having a school on an island (in this case Jeju), catered towards the elite. Have seen several dramas like this but the students were either teens or university students. I don't think casting little kids in this type of elitist environment is healthy for viewers. The children, at a very young age, already act as brats and feel that just because they have the money, they can act poorly towards others. This was such a turn off.
The drama started interestingly enough but after 2 to 3 episodes, flaws were everywhere. Felt like the characters were just going with the flow of the script without wondering why the writer wrote the story that way. I am just watching it when I have spare time from the current dramas airing recently so I am still at ep 9 (despite having started almost 2 weeks ago).

Worth the watch
I was surprised to find myself thoroughly enjoying this series. The 3 female leads have a great camaraderie and you feel as if they truly are the best of friends even in real life. Can't help but compare this to the new drama, Thirty Nine, since it is also about the friendship of 3 single women. Started watching that one and found it a bit boring. Also, after seeing these 3 here in Work Later Drink Now, the other 3 pales in comparison. Not much chemistry there.
Still halfway through but I am already looking forward to season 2.

Boring....
Was eagerly waiting for this because I wanted a light drama with a few laughs. Episodes 1 and 2 were ok but the plot eventually turned confusing. The story was just all over the place. A father on his way to join his daughter encounters a mishap which results in him living inside a smartphone....BUT how stupid is it that his excuse is being on a business trip and doesn't even contact his child that whole time??????From there on, the story just went downhill. Too many characters and poorly thought of scenes. Was sorely disappointed because I frankly, the ML was suited for this type of genre.
Finally decided to drop it.

Better than Dr Romantic
I love watching Korean medical dramas specially since watching Dr Romantic. The stories and production are very detailed and realistic.I was curious about this series since I saw it had high ratings. Definitely no regrets on this one!
I first saw Lee se young in Kairos and found her really pretty and expressive. I loved her role here. Very determined and really pursues what she wants. Ji Sung is such a revelation. I have actually never seen any of his works because I mostly watch recent dramas. High time to go back and watch his previous works, I guess.
I love his voice, and his delivery of lines. Very apt for his role as a doctor when calmness is somthing that could put a patient at ease. His character is full of tenacity and he is really driven when it comes to his profession.
I would probably rewatch this from time to time....

Great casting and great story
I was just looking for something to watch while waiting for the next episode of Penthouse. So glad that I found this gem of a drama. This is definitely one series I would recommend to my friends. When I feel down, I go for dramas which are bright and uplifting. This one is exactly what I was looking for.
I loved the story and the actors. They are so full of depth and portrayed their roles flawlessly. The story was uniquely different. Just like most kdramas, the lead stars often have a childhood story connection. The way the story and this connection played out was really well told.
Both leads have great chemistry together. )Shin Hye Sun is already a favorite of mine after watching Mr. Queen)
I hope that both of them can star in another series together.

Not liking the ensemble.... no chemistry
Except for Kim Ji Seok and Jeong Jin Yeong, I have never seen the other lead characters.I started this because I saw great reviews for it but right now, I'm not sure if I want to continue it. Frankly, the main reason would be the sisters. Find them both boring actually. The eldest has a monotone expression as well as in her line delivery. The second daughter, well, I am not liking her visuals. She also comes off as trying hard in her acting. For me, it would be better to cast someone else. Sorry, to her fans, but she is an eyesore for me and she would be the main reason I would not continue this drama.

Feel good, light rom-com
If you are like me and you're watching Devil Judge and Penthouse; sometimes you need a breather from all those dark, heavy scenes. This rom-com is just right up my alley. First off, I love that the setting is bright and sunny. The casts each lend their talents to portray a group of co-workers with just the right amount of sense of humor. It is a workplace which I can only dream of.
The storyline, particularly when it comes to house surveying, is a bit unique. I enjoy learning about the different Korean locations and real estate prices. The subscription angle is also something new to me, so I had to research it first to fully understand why you need a subscription to own a house.
I am glad that Kim Ji Suk is being given this break. He delivers his line comically and his role suits him well. Both he and the FL also show great chemistry together.
Still, I am only half way through this drama; but I don't find anything boring about it so far. Although from what I hear, the ending could have been better
