It was okay, until it wasn't

Be prepared to watch this only for the ML (who is not only handsome, but also really kind as well), because the FL is nothing but an annoying, selfish, self-centered jerk who should have no business being married to ANYONE, let alone this dude.

There's being independent and working for your dreams, and then there's trampling over everyone and sacrificing every single person in your life to get there.

But all that aside, EP 22 in particular was the one that dropped this rating from a 6 to a 4.5. If you can't see how spending a night in the hotel room with another man - and then defending your poor choices to your husband - could be detrimental to your marriage, then you don't deserve to be in one.

I truly wish the ML ended up divorcing her, but we all know how this stuff works. They always do forgive after a one (barely sincere) apology, don't they?

Soooo boring

Honestly, I've seen slower paced shows than this one, without being this bored.

Throughout the entire show, all I remember is constantly checking which episode I was on and thinking "How is it only episode 8??" or "How am I supposed to make it through another 20 of these?!"

The cast was good, the music was okay, the plot seemed interesting. All the ingredients were there. And then you start watching and you don't really care about the FL, and you get tired of all the marriage talks, and you're no longer sure whether the characters have chemistry or not, and the only interesting person ends up being the CEO.

And then that ending. That stupid ass ending. What's the point of deciding to never get married if you're going to exchange the couple rings. And then hold the ceremony where you exchange promises to each other. And proclaim your love and announce your life plans to your entire extended circle of friends and family. That's exactly what weddings are, dammit!!

Just. Skip this.

Basically, a teenage fanfiction

I usually love Japanese dramas, but this was just so ridiculous, that the longer I watched, the lower I kept rating it. My God.

The FL became a nurse for all the wrong reasons, and remained one for all the wrong reasons, too. I feel so bad for the ML, just imagine someone following you like a puppy at your workplace and proclaiming (unwanted) love for you every chance they get. And then on top of that, every single person you know trying to set you up with the girl you don't want to have anything to do with, including family, friends, colleagues and patients! I'd quit the job on the spot.

But what frustrated me the most was that the FL constantly kept acting like a 15 year old, in everything from the way she interacted with people to the way she acted at her workplace, and even worse, to her ideas of what a romantic relationship looked like; all of it felt so immature! It felt like watching a minor flirt with her boss. It felt like watching a saesang obsess over her idol. It felt like an adaptation of a teenage fanfiction. For 10 episodes straight. Ughhh.

What was the storyline here?

No, seriously, someone tell me what the storyline was supposed to be here, cause I still don't know. There were so many back stories and flashbacks going on. So many relationships developing left, right and center with no real sense of direction. And still, despite all that, the characters managed to do absolutely nothing for 60 minutes straight, in way too many episodes to count.

Not only was it not a comedy, it wasn't melodramatic either (looking at you, title). Heck, it wasn't even entertaining. I don't even mind the average looking male lead. Sure, let's have a realistic looking man fall in love for once, why not. But where's the chemistry? Where's the romance or the courtship or any semblance of relationship? People don't just become drones when they turn 30. Love can be passionate at any age.

And speaking of love, was the female lead Jin Joo supposed to be that rude and insufferable? Is that something we're supposed to admire and relate to, or do we just write it off as her "quirky" personality?

Honestly, at moments it was so awkward and try-hard, that it was too difficult to watch, let alone care about Eun Jung's storyline and road towards healing, which was the only interesting thing about this show.

Look, my point is if I can skip 10 minutes at a time and still not miss anything, it ain't the show for me.
If 5 episodes in the only semblance of romance is that they had a drunken one-night-stand and now refuse to talk to one another, it ain't the show for me.
And if after an entire day of watching I still can't relate to the female lead or even understand the reasoning behind her behaviour - it ain't the show for me.

Can we. Please. Stop Romanticizing. Abuse?!

He's a stalker. There, I saved you 10h of your life.

I can't believe this show is this highly rated, the ML has more red flags than the entire communist party of China.

Let's just do a quick recap all of his sins, shall we?

- he arranges a marriage with the FL - without her consent
- naturally, she refuses, so naturally - he stalks her
- she still refuses, so naturally he kidnaps her (but is forced to let her go once his grandma finds out)
- he then blackmails her to stay with him for a week
- then he tries to kiss her while she's asleep (but is stopped by another monk)
- then he refuses to let her take exam for promotion, but she does it anyway so he decides to pull strings and make her fail said interview

And that's just in the first three episodes!!

But it's all good y'all, cause he buys her presents, and he reads scriptures and takes cold showers to "repent". He bought her Jimmy Choos, who cares if he ignores all her boundaries and bullies her until she gives in?

And in the end, I guess she develops a full blown Stockholm syndrome, and ends up marrying him anyway.

Skip this.
Don't be like Sakuraba Junko. Just skip this.

HOW DID THIS EVER GET APPROVED

I can't believe I've wasted ten hours watching an immature teenager and a divorcee fall in love.

Cause that's what this is. Let's be real here, this isn't one of those cutesy, run-of-the-mill younger man/older woman romances where they're both adults in different stages of life learning how to juggle their responsibilities. He's a freaking TEENAGER.

Let me repeat that - HE'S A TEENAGER. He's 17, UNDERAGE, and immature.
He's still in high school, he bullies other people for his entertainment - yes, including the FL - by paying them to either embarrass themselves or humiliate other people in public. And yes, that's how they meet! He pays her to humiliate other people.

On top of that, he's got unresolved mommy issues which are somehow supposed to make his behavior justified, and he hates the establishment that's essentially providing for the rich and carefree life where he gets to satisfy his boredom by paying people to be bullied. His only redeeming quality is that he can make flower arrangements. Whoop-de-doo, what a charmer!

Meanwhile, she's a 27 year old divorcee who doesn't seem to know what the hell she wants from her life. She always reacts first, thinks second, and then stubbornly sticks to her wrong decisions. She keeps getting herself into misunderstandings that make people despise her, but can never seem to explain herself properly. Oh, and did I mention that as the older, more experienced adult who should know better she never once draws a line in her relationship with a TEENAGER?!

You know, I don't fully blame the ML for his behaviors. He's acting immature cause he's a teenager - they're ruled by their hormones and emotions, and can't always tell right from wrong (even though at seventeen you're supposed to know better than this!)

What I don't understand is - which part of that is an older, experienced woman supposed to find attractive? The part where she constantly needs to educate him on boundaries, proper behaviour, and respect towards other? The part where he's constantly angry at the world for no apparent reason, and can't hold a proper conversation with her? Or maybe it's the part where he's freaking out over holding hands with her?

And this show really expects you to take his marriage proposal seriously. For crying out loud!

This was not okay. Not a single thing about this was okay.

It had potential

The beginning truly grips you and you feel for each and every character so much that you can't stop watching, but especially Hye Joon. We've all at some point been in the situation where it feels like the entire universe is telling you to quit. But, HJ is stronger than most of us - he doesn't quit, he persists, he cries, he gets over it, he succeeds.

And then it's all downhill from there. There was no personal struggle left for the writers to use, I guess, so they brought in side characters that served no other purpose, but to cause conflict. Other than HJ, they were all one-dimensional, and simply did what they did, cause....reasons, I guess.

Jung Ha was clumsy. Hae Hyo was rich. HJ's ex was evil. His mother was a housekeeper. His father played favourites with his kids. The grandpa was a burden. Min Jae was a saint. JH's mother only existed to make her cry. Literally everyone character had a one-word-personality.

The ending, however, was what really sealed this show's fate of low ratings. I don't know how we went from communicating about issues and finding solace in each other, to hiding, lying and avoiding, but I do know that I hate "breaking up only to get back together after 3 years" trope even more than I hate Subway product placement.
And I really hate Subway product placement.

Very "meh"

This show tried to be many things at once, and failed at all of them.

I genuinely don't remember the last time a couple had this little chemistry between them, to the point where they don't even feel like potential love interests, they just sort of exist in the same space and time continuum.
In fact, the writers didn't even try all that much to get them together. For a show called "Touch", the main couple touched for the first time in EPISODE 13!!

All along you're aware that they're supposed to end up together somehow, but there's never anything to make you believe they will, and you kind of get tired of waiting.
I guess it's because the whole crew had to walk that thin line between romantic and creepy in order not to offend the wider audiences, which is what you get when you make stupid casting choices and pair the nation's favourite child actress with a 17 years older actor.

I'm sure the actors did their best, it's really kind of hard to pretend you're falling in love when you barely spend five minutes together in the course of 6 episodes.

With barely any romance in sight, the writers tried to play around with the themes of "less is more" in the beauty industry, or failing and getting back up to fight again, balancing the public and private life of celebrities, the harsh reality of kpop idols, domestic violence. Unfortunately, they never delved deeper nor fully committed to any of them, or at least not enough to make a point. The villain was kind of pitiful at times, until you remember he's a domestic abuser.

All in all, I was bored by the time I hit episode 7, and just kind of skipped my way through to the end.

Frustrating, frustrating, frustrating!

Only by the power of all that is holy did I manage to go through all 16 episodes without screaming at the TV, and then that stupid fucking ending. That terrible shit of an ending!!

FL is the kind of person I hate the most: a selfish, self-centered cow that lies constantly, never lets people in on what's going on in her life but expects them to read minds and show up the moment she needs them, can never leave well enough alone, never takes responsibility for anything or admits to her own faults, strings two guys along until one almost turns into an alcoholic and the other one starts popping pills (anxiolytics?) and THEN. IN THE END. After 16 episodes and multiple lives ruined, she suddenly decides that she and Taeha are meant to be together, and that's that. Literally wakes up one day, decides he's not allowed to be happy without her, ruins his date and smugly decides their relationship is back on. No compromise, no apology, no nothing. And he, the spineless fool that he is, just agrees to it.

Honestly, the entire time I was watching this I just couldn't figure out what was so great about Yeoreum that two guys would fight over her. Don't waste your life, skip this show.

Meh

Watch this only if you're bored out of your mind, cause there really isn't all that much happening. And, while sometimes that may be a good thing (see: Because This Is My First Life or A Piece Of Your Mind), it's certainly not in this case. I usually binge watch my dramas in 2-3 days, but actually forgot I was watching this one several times.

They hate each other, they like each other, they break up with each other, they get back with each other. Really, you won't be missing out on much if you skip this.

Oh, and the last episode ruined everything the previous 15 had built up to. You could probably guess how, since it seems to be a common kdrama trope.

Goddammit this show was frustrating. After episode 10 I wanted to smack everyone upside the head and quit.
In episode 15 I wanted to burn the whole place to the fucking ground.
After the whole storyline of fighting against injustice, the main couple separates for five fucking years because the FL can't grow a pair and stand up to her parents, and on top of that she starts dating someone else that her parents chose for her. And you expect me to be on board with a happy ending with the male lead, when all I want is for the guy to meet someone with a backbone who'll stand by him?! I want 18 hours of my life back. Don't waste your life/nerves/energy on this.

I don't know why, but I absolutely loved this. This was definitely a feel good drama.
There's not a lot of tension or misunderstandings going on, no corporate villain or spiteful mother-in-law, no annoyingly over-persistent second lead... Just regular people going through hardships of life, trying to find answers and do the best they can to move on. It felt almost therapeutic, in a way, watching these people finally accept the reality of things and learn to grow from it.

The story really plays on your emotions, and you feel for every single character. No one is black or white, they're all just different shades of faulty human beings. The AI device doesn't really make sense, but it was never intended to and the story doesn't try to make you understand it; there's no scientific lingo to rationalize its existence - it's a fait accompli, we're now living in a world where this exists, and all that's left is to see how it plays out.

My favourite thing, though, was probably the interactions between the main characters. You can tell they really understand and support each other. They follow each other's pace perfectly, and with no unnecessary jealousy or fighting (a few arguments here and there, but reasonable) their relationship simply flows.

Perfectly wrapped up with a bow in 12 episodes, with gorgeous piano tracks throughout.

Not steamy, not racy, and definitely not worth it

When people said this drama was moving too fast, they weren't kidding.

Day 1 - FL meets ML for the first time on a rooftop of their workplace, and he kisses her without her permission or any indication at all that she's interested. They then proceed to have a full blown makeout session, since she doesn't complain, so there's that, I guess.

Day 2 - ML moves on with his life and tries to do his job, while this naive Mary Sue follows him around, harassing him in front of other workers, and generally acting like his wife - asking him if he's fine, then straight up telling him he's not fine, that he's overworking himself, and that he needs to eat something (after which she forcibly feeds him a candy). Keep in mind, at this point she has only known him for ONE DAY.
He, in turn, gets all raw and emotional (instead of weirded out, which he should be), and opens up about his struggles. Or he's supposed to, but you'd never be able to tell based on his stony expressions.

Day 3 - they sleep together, move in together (yes, really!), she tells him she loves him, he tells her he loves her, and that she's the one he's been looking for his entire life.
Reality check: you have known each other for three days, and there's seven more episodes to go!! Which they, of course, fill with an unnecessary love triangle, a jealous ex-gf, and a subplot of this guy being some mysterious phantom, even though everyone can clearly see him around ALL THE TIME.

Honestly, everything about this show was weird: from the way they pronounced Momoko's name, to all the characters being one dimensional caricatures - the female coworkers all had the same hairstyle and only existed to fawn over hot guys, while the guys were hot and only existed to try and steal the FL away from the ML.

And somehow, despite all of that, the FL still manages to be the downright most boring character of all. The most bland and insipid Mary Sue you've ever met.
She's timid, meek, and naive, and comes off as simpleminded, to be honest. Her face is stuck in a constant state of anxiety, and her only personality trait is that she constantly worries over people being cold and hungry, like an 80 year old grandma. She has absolutely no redeeming qualities to attract anyone ever (let alone this many male characters), and she's so bad at completing tasks that you'll wonder multiple times throughout the show how she was able to hold down any job at all.

Sure, compared to most J-dramas there was a lot of kissing scenes.
Were they hot/racy/steamy as the other reviewers seemed to imply? No.
Were they worth this high of a rating? Definitely not.

Not what I expected

It's a Lancome commercial disguised as a webdrama. There, I saved you five hours.

Going by the summary, I was expecting more, but it's a typical web drama, the kind that you can find on YouTube for free. They're a dime a dozen these days. If you like that kind of thing, then this is going to be a perfect drama for you. If you're into quality stuff, you can skip this.

I guess it wasn't all that bad, the show did try to make a point about strong women and friendship, but all these in-your-face product placements made it too distracting to focus. I'm not kidding, at least two scenes per episode were dedicated to talking about makeup, out of nowhere.

Like I said, it's not necessarily bad, it's just not that good. Will forget about in T -1 hour.

Too ridiculous even for me

I've seen a lot of bad shows, but this one was just ridiculous.
Students acting like businessmen, computer science students knowing nothing about computers, a battle RPG game where you have to get married for absolutely no reason at all, petty fights and arguments, people falling in love left and right with their playing partner's fictional character and acting way too serious about it, and then there's the guy who IRL almost killed his friend the ML and instead of apologizing to him, he apologized to the FL because ML was in a coma and so she lost a battle, which are a dime a dozen.
And don't even get me started on the special snowflake that is the female lead who's apparently the only smart student on the entire campus and everyone wants to date her, meanwhile she falls in love with a guy in the game (ML) and quits the game because he doesn't show up ONCE.
Ugh, I'm frustrated just typing this.
