The Parallels of InKorn and DeanPharm
I have been recently rewatching this series as I missed the cast and chemistry between OhmFluke. This series definitely made me cry more times than ever.
I found the parallels between their old lives and new reincarnations so beautiful. It was as if their story just continued in their current lives. In could not cook, he even burnt rice with omelet when making it for Korn, but in their current lives, Pharm comes from a family who cooks for a living. He is able to make omelet rice for Dean that tastes good. The parallels of the flashbacks is so heartbreaking as they are both finally able to do the things they promised to do for each other in their previous lives. The execution of the storyline makes us feel the sadness of the characters. Although finding someone you love, Pharm feels this sadness and is still held by his past. The desserts that Pharm continuously makes for Dean and the swimming team is so sweet as all the desserts were ones that In practiced to make for Korn in their past lives. The parallels are drawn and you can see the similarities and differences in their current and past lives.
Now, looking at their past lives, In was the one who started talking to Korn first, approaching him and eventually they fell in love. Maybe it was the trauma of them ending their lives, but the character that Pharm portrays is much shyer than the In in their past lives. In this current life, Dean is the one who talks to Pharm first, as it was also his promise to find him, It was as if all the suffering they had in their past lives would be fixed in this life. The concept of this series is amazing, using the red thread of fate as a way to link star crossed lovers, in a sense, to find themselves again.
The concept also makes you optimistic that there is someone out there looking for you, the red thread of fate connects you and the one you love the most.
Most of the series is told in Pharm's point of view, from his nightmares to his trauma of loud sounds, all pieces of the past with him. What I wish I could have seen more was Dean's point of view, wouldn't he have trauma of his own? How guilty did he feel leaving In first? I do wish we saw more from Dean's point of view and how he had been feeling before he found Pharm. Nevertheless, the characters have a special place in my heart that I will love forever.
If you are looking for something that will warm your heart, but also make you cry buckets, this is the series to go to .
