Yeah, he’s being portrayed as a smarmy bastard in the first ten seconds

I impulsively want to make an excuse, “it was 2015.” But that’s not an excuse. the fact that they started him off talking about wanting to have girls with less clothes to play with in VR pissed me off. And then to distract the opposing operative, he share photos of scantily dressed women. What, did all male Leads need to be objectifying assholes? I want to BARF. I also had such high hopes having seen him in Sleepless in the City, and hearing all the rave reviews.

Gods how are they this cute?

HOW ARE THEY SO CUTE! Eddie’s acting, chef’s kiss. Calling it acting doesn’t even do it justice.

I'm addicted, but I need to it was rape even as I continue watching.

If you're too drunk to walk on your own you're too drunk to give consent. We all know that when sober, and under any other circumstances, King would be the last person Uea would want to sleep with. So, WRITERS: King, could have been even sexier, and despite his overwhelming attraction to Uea, he could have wrenched his face away with a pained look, maybe burying his face in Uea’s shoulders to block his view of Uea’s open face and tantalizing lips until he regained his control, and then gone to sleep on the couch… with a very demanding hard-on, or after a VERY cold shower. King is so good at giving Uae longing looks, it would have been a riveting scene. OR Uea could have been sober! Wow, what a thought! Their relationship could have started out with something that wasn't rape. I mean, he was already cracking under his cheating boyfriend and his abusive mother, so after he gets that text from his mom in the bathroom, he just cracks, and instead of drowning himself in alcohol… he drowns himself in King. He wanted to do what hurt most in an already painful life. Sleeping with King was self-flagellation. Uea saying "i was being too reckless" - reckless is getting sh*t-faced and begging the person you hate most rn to “stay with me.” That’s it! That’s all on him. The rest is on King.

Uea apologizing has gone from what is essentially victim blaming to gaslighting.

WRITERS having Uae apologize for things that are 100% someone else's fault is worse than victim blaming. He seems to have been gaslighted. He should NOT apologize for getting angry when King yelled at him for going into the room with Krit. He was doing worse than victim-blaming. He should be the #1 person there for Uea. Instead, he literally implied that Uae was asking for sexual assault - right after Uea went through an attempted rape! King should be groveling. and Uea still shouldn't forgive him for a loooong time. And this isn't the only time. The first time they have sex? Someone as drunk as Uea was... if you're too drunk to walk on your own you're too drunk to give consent. Whether it was rape or not (it was rape), UEA SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN THE ONE TO APOLOGIZE. We all know that when sober, King would be the last person Uea would want to sleep with. So, alcohol was used as a plot device. No wonder alcohol is the #1 date rape drug. Uea saying "i was being too reckless," reckless is getting sh*t-faced and begging the person you hate most rn to “stay with me.” That’s it! That’s all on him. The rest is on King. acceptance and positive representation, yes, story, no, acting, yes

it's like there are two things happening at once. There are two actors with great chemistry (romantic and just as actors), and then there's the story... If you ignore the story, especially the roles the actors are supposed to be playing, it's actually pretty good. But then the story butts in and it's a boss and his intern which is bad enough, but their chemistry doesn't fit these roles or this story, it goes PAST the story. It shines through despite the story. If you remember the story, you just feel like they're stifled, and you're creeped out. WTF is with the g-dam story. They could have produced a better show just by acting across from each other. What makes it better than all else is their outright blatant spoken acceptance and ADVOCACY for queerness. (was that episode 2? When Cher defends gay-ness first to the two women, and then to Boss himself. That was beautiful. It has been memorialized on my twitter.)

RESPECTING BOUNDARIES AND RESPECTING CONSENT AND JUST BEING SO SEXILY, BEAUTIFULLY RESPECTFUL

The cinematography and colors of that first scene on the beach is breathtaking. Them holding each other with the sunset as their witness, sensually pressed against each other as they touch one another, there’s no rush, it’s just them feeling each other, feeling how they have already crossed the line, but they are afraid to admit it, each one of them having different reasons, but they know they are so into each other, feeling so much and they are happy like that, because for now they don’t need a label for this relationship. And King behind Uea and Uea not being scared because he knows King is not taking advantage of him is so precious to see ?“I don’t want to take advantage” that’s what we love to see! And I love how this is such a character development from King, because let’s face it, the first time together, it was Uea the one being so drunk he could barely walk, and King was not as affected so it was him taking advantage and yes, both were drunk, but consent was blurred, regardless of people defending King, it was not a good move and the series made him look bad as the “sober” one. But we all know King is a green flag, who is obviously so in love with Uea that having him as a friend with benefits was the only opportunity he could get, so he took it.

we'll make it beautiful by leaving it with Hai Qing and Ping Jun beautiful and happy together

Hai Qing and Ping Jun's story is beautiful. It is a drama unto itself. If Hai Qing and Ping Jun weren't so cute togther, I might be able to keep going. If Ping Jun, were not a nice person, or an average person, but he's an angel, and Yan Fei is an asshole. Let's make a beautiful drama together with a not-toxic love story with a not-toxic person, but instead with Ping Jun who is just so damn sweet, caring, cute, nice and UGH! I'm sad just thinking about him getting hurt. and a drama lauding another toxic male and a toxic relationship that sacrifices the healthy. happy relationship. Is this what you would want for a brother? A sister, son, daughter or best friend!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

For the ending they decided on, they made as least painful and as positive as possible.

That was the best way they could’ve ended it if Tofu had to die (but did he have to die?). As in they created just enough an amount of belief that they could love Tofu through the Teddy bear/Tofu and the teddy bear were one. Especially for Nut. I want to believe that Nut 100% loves Tofu through that bear as if he was never gone. I just wish they had made it more clear or obvious to Nut that Tofu had to die for Tarn to live, the true sacrifice Tofu made for him and that it wasn't abandonment. Also, it wasn’t “kill the gays” either. Though every time a queer person dies in media it still feels like they’re “killing the gays.” Actually, I might argue, that depending on your definition, all the gay couples got to live happily ever after - just in a polyamorous relationship ...? yeah, even that is a stretch. I just like to think that Nut still feels love for Tofu as an intelligent, living identity. YOu can go on loving someone after they're dead,... ok I might be digging myself a hole.

No chemistry. Fantastic acting and story

NO CHEMISTRY. But everything else is good. Especially Puen’s acting. Always Puen’s acting. It is interesting seeing nanon and ohm occasionally earlier on. They have chemistry. nanon is Fabulous at everything he does, and I don’t remember Puen’s actor's name but he is an incredible actor as well. I was looking forward so much to this show just because of him.

Porches's acting 10/10, but the plot gaps, though

The internet has given me really high expectations for this, and I have been surprised, but also disappointed. Mostly by the plot gaps. Ok, so if you want someone to be your *trusted* body guard, you don't threaten them, and you certainly don't *spoiler* put a bag over their head, kidnap them, take them into the middle of a river, and then when they refuse, try to shoot them when they jump off the side of the yacht. Like what? Also, I'm not feeling Kinn's acting right now, but Porches' acting is so good, he kinda outshines everyone, like where'd they find this guy? He's also doing all his stunts, and though I hate people rating actors/performers on their looks, they got someone who is extremely talented at acting, also extremely physically capable, both in fighting and in general keeping his body looking good, and he's good looking in general. How do people like him exist? Can't he have at least one flaw? Also, if he knows all that information about Proche, he certainly knows where he lives, and can more easily, intelligently get to him that way, but wait WHAT is up with this house that they can't give it up? I'm sure there's a valid reason, SO JUST TELL US!

Break toxic masculinity

Edit, ok, so reveals later on disproves one part of this (two of them are gay) but is till think this still applies? Wishful thinking?Original review: This episode starts out, well about midway through, you meet male lead two’s roommates and they’re a funny bunch. The next time you see them one of the roommates ask two for a back massage. Then they Switch, and the roommate gives m make lead two a back massages, and do you think there’s going to be a queer undertone, but it instead the third roommate walks in pauses, and pauses, and you think he’s going to shout gay! berceuse one roommate is sitting on the back of the other, but instead he’s like my turn next, and starts and buttoning the corners of his shirt so that he can get a shoulder massage. What’s special about this, is the juxtaposition between what the audience expects from a BL, what I would be claim as a call out of toxic masculinity. No one expects just a bunch of buff guys to be giving each other back massages to happen or to be depicted without there being a gay undertone. But because there ends up being no gay undertone, in your surprise and shock, you have to think about your prejudices against three buff men Giving back massage to each other, I.e. touching each other in a way that in our society is really only “safe” for girls to do. I think the director is reminding you to challenge how you let society affect how you believe people, both mâle, female and non binary, will act based on what society tells you about what ways in which it is “ok” for a specific gender to act.In other words, I don’t think I have ever seen three buff men being so open to touch and physical contact, and comfortable in their friendships. Is it a new era? Can my guy friends start being more vulnerable to?(edit after viewing the whole show. Two of them were gay. Oops. Sorry.)Oh, and I forgot to mention, ONE OF THEM IS GAY, THE OTHER GUYS KNOW, AND THE OTHER GUYS DON’T ACT ANY DIFFERENTLY. They still touch him in a way that could be sexual in another sense… just compare this to a boys locker room when one of the guys is found out to be gay! Then compare it to this. How can that be revolutionary, but sad to say, it is.

We (as in BLs) becoming more open and accepting?

I liked how they already brought up “do you like men“ aka gay-ness in the first episode. So many bl avoid even pretending gay-ness exists let alone that there are at least two male characters that love men. I view this as BL, and maybe even society, are taking more accepting turn with regards to queerness. And moreover, a turn towards recognizing that their audience likes and accepts the fact that the characters are queer.

I'm so confused. This could be a 10 if there was an ounce of clarity and continuation to the plot.

So let me get this straight. Somehow, over the course of this episode, Mark and Vee somehow go from thier first day as a couple, to have been dating for a year!? When was that? Between part 3 and 4? Was it before or after Vee said he was going to make things clear with Ploy (end of part 3)? Is what's happening at the beginning of part 4, the Live stream showing Vee and Ploy together, the same day when Vee said he was going to set things straight with Ploy or a year later? I'm so confused.

They need to tell us how many days have passed!!

I like it but I'm really confused. How much time has passed. It feels like one day, but I have been looking through the comments and reviews and I think it's possible that there has been huge jumps in time that ... the directors just forgot to mention? Or they think we all have mind-reading skills? If my supposition is right, then the time between the first scene at the bar and the scene with Vee offering to help Mark and friends study, could have been weeks to an entire year. Enough time for Mark to have fallen out of love with Bar and into love with Vee, simply from the memories of their one night encounter. Plot-wise it wouldn't make sense for it to have been a year, but in a later scene with Mark and his two friends on Mark's bed, James says to Mark, "you've been in love with Vee for a whole year." And that had me at a huge WHAT? I thought Mark was in love with Bar, and just yesterday at that?! Because cinomagraphically that is how it seems. Then, that means that when Mark says he's not in love with Bar anymore, it's because he's been in love with Vee for a while now, and when Vee asks what Mark is thinking about and if he can help Mark out, Mark says no because he is in love with Vee and Vee already has a long-time girlfriend. Also, Vee's line, "I feel guily every time I pass you" has more meaning because he has been passing Mark for maybe almost a year (and is still thinking about him. Awe). Also this would make the Ploy-cheating arc make more sense, because cinomagraphically, it seems like it was was literally the next day that Mark and friends see her with another man at the bar, when in actuallity it's been a year with them falling out of love.HOWEVER, that would mean that Vee is all of a sudden jealous of Mark after a year of silence. Further in one scene in this episode, Vee asks mMark, "How can you get rid of your feelings that fast" which could be used to say that the passage of time since their first scene at the bar could have been days, not years. UGH I'm confused

It tears at my heart. And this is the highest of praise. So #$%ing good

It tears at my heart. I want to cry for him, rail at the world and beat my fists upon it's uncaring heart. And this is the highest complement because it is showing the life of someone who is gay living in society as it stand today, and all the sh*t it throws at him on a daily, nay second-ly (every second) of his existance. It is done SO WELL. SO, if you get angry at him for reaching for a better life, one that doesn't throw him under the bus and stomp on him all day, then go out dressed in drag for a week and then come back and watch this show with newly opened eyes.SPOILER WARNING A guy who is gay accidentally discovers a classmate is a fujoshi and she insists she keeps it a secret but because he knows she feels free to be herself around him, meanwhile he watches her and, like me, is fucjing depressed and angry because she is taking his life with no idea for what it is really like and is totally off about what their lives are like, and the things she imagines with her fujisho friend are digusting with him standing right there. I always thought I want all men to experience objectification, but watching that scene, I Couldn’t bear it. It made me sick as it’s intended to (*all this goes to show how INCREDIBLE this show is). but she is also a strong but ignorant defender of gay rights and repsect and has a strong imagination which helps her enjoy fujoshi, and brings a light into ML’s life, and with her imaginatopn that helps him see the good in the world and her adament defense of gay rights, he can and does feel comforatble around her, but he is stuck in a world that rejects him in every instant, including the FL “I don’t know any gays (hes standing right in fromt of you and your shipping of real people could be harmful whether they’re gay or not because it is objectification and could lead to outing, even falsely, someone). Feels fetishizing, and I’m a stolid BL fan/fujoshi, so this review is me the queer, going through a mid life crisis about my media choices. For me it was a way to imagine your peers as softer people, based on the assumption they would have to be more vulnerable to be with someone of the same gender but also living closer to the female experience and therefore more sympathetic to Fems, but that’s wishful thinking. Anyways, back to the review...But because of having to hide it though every little comment, action, and even thought of those around him stab deeper at the festering wound that can never heal as long as he is gay (For his whole life). I want to be normal after watching his reality, and he wants to be normal to have all the things he wants but could only get in this society if he was straight or denying who he was, so he agrees to go out with her. Maybe he can erase the gay and make his mom happy all at the same time
