A childish girl and her drunkard master are in charge of people's fates, while thousands of immortals gather to hear one guy's report lol And yet, what annoyingly distracts me is how the director thinks boasting shots of CGI locations is a thing.

The main plot didn't move forward at all. While the simple story of Fei and QG was dragged for one more episode.

Aside from accurately introducing the leads, the fight choreography and clean camera angles, this had THE best MC intro I've ever seen. I doubt anything can beat this on that regard anytime soon.

Seems like they can't write a fun episode without throwing any logic almost completely out the window. How come the author who realizes it's not gonna be easy for a prince to return to the capital without the help of several martial artists and an army, suddenly thinks it even remotely possible to take the bride out of the friggin palace on her wedding day? And why on earth are you using your usual clothes and your famous sword trying to do this act of treason? SCF even didn't hide his face saying no one knows him. Dude, everyone and their fam knows you two are friends! Gosh they almost got their families wiped out. Not to mention this provided loads of crazy opportunities for prince Qing, yet he suddenly decided to just grab a popcorn and watch. And then there's Langya acting logically but talking OOC. It's almost like the writer(s) regressed in maturity.

I liked the tension in the middle. Sounded like a good buildup. You could tell something's gonna happen.

So many flashy moves, no proper fight At least the hidden identity wasn't dragged till the ending episodes, which is a big relief

That conversation between Mr. Li nd Lei Mengsha is how every scene in this drama should've been if it's to be called TBOY's prequel. Mutual understanding, lines that have multiple layers of meaning, the feeling of something very important is being planned in this small ordinary-looking place of the world.All these were constant themes in TBOY but has been almost nonexistent in DY.Still, it's a pleasure to see sparks of that unique style.

I like how contrary to what one would expect, it's her who ends up protecting him every time. The way the writer manages it is refreshing.Also, I like the mystery about THAT guy, whether he actually IS XL or not.

Lots of things going on. Counters learning that there can be irreversible consequences for their hesitation. The argument scene was really well done.

Not only was it completely unexpected, it also made the viewer finally believe that he's gone. I'm guessing this episode helped a lot of viewers grieve and move on. Because considering how unexpected the tragedy was despite the overall lighthearted mood of the drama, I had a hard time even believing his death, let alone shed tears. Up until this point, that is. Such a brave, touching and selfless tribute to a friend they barely believed they'd lost. And the music was just perfect.

Fast paced start. FL was phenomenal. The music was on point, specially when at atimes it'd completely stop, then start again; such a unique way of adding tension.
