very sweet reality show
Coming to see what is this show about from His Man Season 2 (and the first four episodes of S3) and from Boys Like Boys, I was pleasantly surprised.
I feel like Philippines are not very well known for their series (they also don't produce as much ofc) as Thailand, Korea or Japan (or maybe even Taiwan, that may have gotten some attention from being the first Asian country to allow equal marriages (way to go!))
First things first, I am not shunning down the two tv shows mentioned above, I enjoyed watching them for different reasons and had fun with all of them.
But I felt like in Sparks Camp the participants were more honest. The hostess, who was such an empathetic person to guide the men through the emotional confessions that they made, was literally the best. Slay Mother sparker, fr.
The connections between the participants felt genuine and all of them were portrayed as three dimensional beings even in the short run time of the show (I binged watched it, way to start a summer, hehe).
The atmosphere reminded me a bit of connections in Boys Like Boys, comparing these two to His Man I feel like the men in His man are a bit more competitive, so it doesn't always feel like such a safe space there, as in Sparks Camp (or Boys like boys).
Another plus in Sparks Camp was about the diversity of the participants, I overall really appreciate diversity in everyday life, so them being quite different from each other - both with personalities and appearances, was very nice to see.
Now we're getting another season! Way to go Black Sheep, looking forward to it.
Peace out :)
