I don't understand the writers mindset

Honestly this has been a utter stressful letdown for me to watch compared to the first one. I keep forcing myself to hold out to the end. But i hate myself more and more with each episode i waist my time watching due to the all over thr place story. Plus the fact that the main leads could have truely been taken in a better derection than this. We have one episode left and the preview if it turns out like the preview even hints to. I think i may have to swear off bl dramas for a long time. Cause this drama was just truly a all over the place drama.
