I am completely empty

This series was a blow to my emotions that I will never recover from. It's not just a depiction of a complicated story but a painful moment realization.

Wang, who has been searching for the remnants of his father's memory his entire life is suddenly drawn to a house in the middle of nowhere. An oasis... a cave? a cage where the man holding the key to the mystery lies impatient.

An unstoppable force meets the immovable object. As a young man full of resolve and fire, crashes into a man that only knows fear and regret masked as prudence.

With a Strindberg-esque theater in it's core, this show brings blade-sharp monologues and dialogues with amazing rythm and ruthlessness. It plays into the inevitability of family and the unfortunate blooming of a love that grows like weeds in concrete.

The cinematography is beautiful, the use of lines and colors to depict meaning is raw and subtle at the same time. Its impossible to pinpoint the "good moments" because it's all so meticulously planned that everyone I tried to get a quote written down I ended up with a transcription of the entire scene.

It's not necessarily sad. I don't cry at "sad". It was just too much. The situation, the emotions, the dialogues are multidimensional and overwhelming.

Pond offered a gut wrenching performance that was always topped with a smile that passes through you.

F*ck, how this shit tore me apart.

If you do not find theater entertaining, if you like explicit, easy, quiet shows definitely skip this one. This is not your typical BL, for the ones coming towards it only because of that label. It is BL, but it became so much more.

This is not a "fun" ride. It's a story of a bird trying to convince another to leave the cage. The door is not locked, the air is much nicer up there... but how could you convince a bird with no wings to fly?

Id rather stay in the labyrinth than join Icarus in the sea.

The only appropriate word to describe this is "wonderful"

This is such a beautiful series I would give my kidneys to watch it again for the first time. it might be confusing but the clues to understanding the plot are all there since the first moment. Breathtaking views with an aesthetic so beautiful and meaningful you cannot stop watching. The situation the main characters are in is so tragic to the point of it being poetic yet it breathes in an atmosphere of acceptance calmness. the moment I understood the plot I couldn't stop bawling my eyes out. A sweet story full of mystery and wonder. Today it ended an it left an empty space no other series will ever fill. Reminiscing of an old tale of soulmates in the streets of Chiang Mai. If you open your heart and your mind to pick up the beautiful details you'll be, literally, on cloud nine. Don't let this series go under your radar. It'll make your heart shiver in emotions unknown.

You will cry

This series is impossible to explain in just a few paragraph so I will only explain how this is one of the best BL's I have ever watched.
It is a very intricate and heavy series that has many layers to it. While the premise of a Teddy bear coming to life may seem simplistic or stupid it actually makes the story work and move forward. You will see depisctions of trauma, mental illness, homophobia, loss of a family member in two different but complementary stories as well as a harsh critique on the BL industry itself. Yes, it has elements of whim and fantasy but it is still one of the most real and tough series to watch.
The main character is Tofu, the Teddy bear that has been watching his owner cry alone in his room for years. The stuffed animal is suddenly turned into a human due to a miracle, and will have to learn the complexity of human emotions and relationships while he tries to figure out the reason why he has come alive.
The acting is sublime and the emotions it draws out of you are as real as they get.

I gave it a low rewatch value because it's something very heavy and somewhat tiring to watch and the subjects it touches are very sensitive and may trigger some people as well as each episode consisting of an hour and a half.
This BL focuses on the reality of homosexuality in adolescence as well as in the BL industry that tries to portray them differently just to please an audience. It also speaks of child abuse and how a parent and a kid might have suffered the same situation differently.

I cried my eyes out, this gave us different love stories, different types of love, grief and overcoming fear. This show is about the complexity and intricacy of the human soul and it ripped my heart into pieces. Watch it. It's sublime.

I don't care if this is biased, it broke me

I cannot stress enough how beautifully painful these two episodes were in my eyes. I've read reviews claiming it's slow but... isn't life like that?
especially after breaking up with who you thought was meant to stay forever
especially when you're trying so hard not to ruin everything
especially when you're trying to let go and let heal

this story felt like a lonely night
like a slow summer evening
like doubt
like expectations
like smiling through tears

it's directed beautifully

I actually do not want to analyze it. I just want to let it was over me with is mundanity in a way I'll never recover from.

"it could be extraordinary"

You cannot miss this for anything

Let me start by saying that Gun stole the show. His performance alone is reason enough tp watch this. A true work of art,as you can tell the difference between the two characters he plays just by his eyes and his body language.

Now, the show presents a story different from what we had seen, starting off a year of more serious BLs. A tale depicting a group of university students that decide to stand up against oppression.

This show is to a certain extent a critique to Thai society, use of power, monopoly, and discrimination. It really shows the reality many people live in but with an element of fantasy that plays an interesting role.

Regarding characters and performances.

Each character has their own views on thw situation as well as a background that you discover throughout the series that makes you fall for them. The acting is insanely good, as the emotions of each of them are very palpable and relatable. The relationships develop and entangle and get complicated as in real life, while the show mantains each characters convictions without attempting to convince you that every action is either right or wrong.

Talking about the production... A work of art I cannot express without spoilers so look formward to an article on the best scenes and references on the series.

Overall this is a beautiful series. That you cannot miss, a true romance that feels like a tale of this time.

Warnings

The soundtrack sucks ass, ngl. But if you ignore it its fine.
Also the advertisements sometimes feel ridiculous.

Corruption
Vandalism

It's impressive

I am not going to lie, this was a harrowing experience which I do not recommend for people that are easily triggered by body violence. But if you can stomach it, let me tell you why this is worth a try.

Let me prephase by saying that if you are one of those people that watch BL just for sexual content this review is not for you, also don't talk to me. THIS IS NOT fun, this is not BL, this is a story of guilt, grief, violence and many other emotions that come with the loss of a loved one.

The plot shows us a protagonist that when about to commit suicide is saved and kidnapped by a man that keeps him chained up and strips him of his freedom, his body autonomy and his (already damaged) mental stability. But the whole point of this literal torture is to awaken the most animalistic part of him, the survival instinct. It's only on situations that threaten our lives and our dignity that we hold on to life.

We are shown the story of our protagonist and the reason behind his suicide attempt which is the death of his parents and the guilt he felt as he thought it to be his fault, and we witness him struggle with himself as he is violated but and presented with chances to die but ends up refusing.
Then, we follow the story of the kidnapper, and we understand his grief and his reasoning for all the atrocities he comitted. We watch him lose the love of his life to suicide, explaining his obsession with convincing his victim to live through any means possible.

The parallels of both stories makes you experience stockholm syndrome along with the main character, who feels sorry for the crazy broken man before him.

It's painful to watch, but that's the point. It's a violent story of insanity and being broken, but wanting something or someone to complete you.

Both men end up saving each other.
They learn to let go.
The story goes from darkness to the light.
From fear and being used to consent and closeness.
From screaming to quiet whispers of reassurance.

Maybe I'm reading way too much into it, but maybe I'm not.

Honestly the image that will haunt me forever is one of the calmest in the movie. An open window with cherry blossom petals falling into cold skin. And comparing memories with a drug that one always carries around waiting for the perfect moment to give into them and die really took a toll on me.

Again, if you're watching this for the sex or the strong images... you'll miss the narrative. So maybe skip this one. But if you can look past that and can stomach it... I can definitely recommend it.

Also the acting is very good as well as the visual and sound resources that add another layer to the story. Thank you.
