A Rollercoaster of Emotions for Everyone, including our Beautiful Selfless TOFU!
If you’re looking to get into The Miracle of Teddy Bear, please do noted this is a Lakorn with BL elements. So it’s more about the journey than the endgame. So I’m going to come out and say it right out, it has a rather bittersweet (or sad/happy) ending depending on how you look at it. Because Tofu reverts back to being a teddy bear, and Nut eventually chooses to move on with Than. For me, while I enjoy this series very much, and it breaks my heart that Tofu goes back to being a teddy, the last couple of eps were rushed so it didn’t tie up all the loose ends quite as nicely. So they were so disjointed plots, things happening too fast (Nut moving on), things not explained enough. I think partly this is due to storytelling and the deal the show creators had with Netflix. Maybe. I’m not too sure but this series was cut down so maybe that might be why it felt so rushed (the ending).
But with that being set aside, they do touch base with a lot of great stuff, such as LGBTQ+ issues, generation gap, mental health illness, abusive behavior, etc. And they do try to craft these issues in a realistic way. So that’s a plus in my book.
However, for any new viewers, this show can be very dramatic. And Nut’s anger can also seem very excessive, and because Tofu is such an innocent person (he really is learning how to navigate through the stages of being human) he really doesn’t question. Gen, Nut’s friend, does call him out on his behavior at times. So if there’s off-putting, you won’t like this show, because Nut does yell at his mom, and even slaps Tofu a few times (he’s such a broken person, he doesn’t know how to control himself till later on).
I’d love to touch base with everything else, but I sadly cannot. But Song and Gen’s relationship is very cute. Saen and Jan are two hurt individuals who needed to go to therapy than do all the things they went. Na is a gem but she also created the life she lived (partly by not standing up for herself) - this is the show’s message I think. Than is an angel, I guess, never really connected with him. Love him but felt like they only utilize his character as a story device. Prim is alright but a little annoying at the beginning. And Tofu, I love, with all my heart.
Just don’t expect this story to have a happy ending (already spoiled that for you, sorry) for us, as the viewers, depending on our viewing experiences. Because for Tofu, he was okay with turning back to a teddy for Nut’s happiness. And Nut was able to heal and move on (rather a little fast because the ending was rushed, and they didn’t clarify the time jump well enough, but if it was months, that also seems a little fast, but that’s okay).
So if you’d like to watch it, watch it, and see what you think. You might like it. You might not. Because it’s not a light-hearted drama and it’s filled with so many hard topics, and even some violent outbursts, and the ending might not be up to your liking, so if this is the case, it’s okay not to watch. I’m sure you would be able to find the cute clips/gifs on Nut/Tofu and that can be your way of watching this. I try to give an unbiased review (and I wrote the things I felt would have impacted me from starting/not starting a new show) so I hope this helps a little!

Delicious visual and foods, and slow-moving romance, story, and everything!
Honestly, I don't think this show is that bad. At least, not for me. I like the characters, the visuals, the story, the romance, but the way they chose to tell the story hinders its ability to become a successful show. The pacing was, at times, too slow, and it didn't contribute much to the story/plot overall. And this is also a problem with the romance. It's like they have everything right at their disposal to create a fantastic show, but they didn't quite manage to get there.Don't get me wrong, I like this show. I really do! It's a stunning show with good actors; the story just wasn't there. They needed more time to develop the story. Or maybe it was one of those experimental type of storytelling, which is good, because it's always good to have different type of storytelling. But this kind of story didn't really draw me in even though I wanted it to. And to this day. I still can't figure out what's missing, and that's the problem for me.
But sometimes, I found myself, wanting more in terms of storytelling, and not getting it. Instead, I get pretty visuals, which is nice, but I wanted more. That being said, I still think they have a decent story here, and it's a good show to watch to pass the boredom. I might not rewatch it (but I'm also someone who doesn't rewatch shows until years later no matter how much I like them).

Riding off into the beautiful countryside with a few bumps along the way!
I adore this series. It's a very lovely drama and Fame and Fluke are both wonderful as Tawan and Mork respectively. Also, Mork (Fluke) has the cutest smile, and oh, that one dimple of his, it's so memorizing. It's a little funny - the dimples - because in the novel, Tawan is the one who has the dimples - can't remember how Mork describe them in the novel. But I'm not complaining about that at all.
Anyway, let's get back to the review. One thing I really enjoy about this series is the simplicity. It's basically just two people falling for each other over the course of time. There's nothing too special or too outlandish about it. So if you're looking for a hot, steamy romance, or something with a bit more flair, this might not be for you. It's very sweet and very cute, but it's a very slow build romance, and the most you get is a kiss or two. And very simple, chaste kisses, too.
I'd recommend checking it out, though! While I love this series, I think there are a few things that I think needed a bit more work. I think the Boss/Toy story, while cute, needed a bit more time in order to develop that story fully. It's not bad but it also feels like it's a bit incomplete.
And Nadia and Mayom, I like them, but I feel something was missing there. Not sure what. It just felt something else was needing, like a missing link to tie back everything nicely together. But this might be due to me reading the novel...
One last thing I would say is that the P'Por/Tawan's storyline might have dragged on for most people. But honestly, it's like that in the novel. Though, Por seems a bit meaner toward Tawan here than in the novel.
All in all, I think this one is definitely worth a watch. But do understand that Tawan is very inexperienced when it comes to love and such, and he is very innocent, so he tends to have an idealistic view on love. If this is something you can't get behind, this might not be for you (trust me, this comes up a lot in this show!). And Mork does question his feelings for a bit, not because he's ashamed or anything, it's just because he's new at this (falling for another man; also a common theme in the novel) and is processing everything. Other than that, I'd say give it a try! This cast is stellar!
Let us ride off into that sweet marshmallow-y sunset with Tawan and Mork together, shall we? Who knows maybe dimples - or one outstanding dimple - will be waiting for us on the other end.
