I just completed watching Two Spirits Love and I thought I'd share some of my thoughts on it! This story has some of the typical drama cliches that we all know and love like rich, arrogant boy meets poor, sweet girl and falls in love. But unlike many dramas it ventures into elements of supernatural and pass lives which end up entwining with the character's present lives. Thun, played by Mario, is a successful parent-less and quite rich (if we didn't know that already his incredible house will give you an idea of how much money this guy is making) businessman who just happens to have a case of uncontrollable telekinesis. Anytime he gets mad or upset light bulbs start breaking, papers fly, and a mini storm swirls around him. You have to suspend some sense of reality when it comes to his telekinesis as this stuff happens in a board meeting in front of everyone and no one even blinks an eye about it. "Oh, boss is just having a bad day don't worry about the fact that stuff is literally flying around the room!" There's no real explanation for his powers other than the fact at some point in his life he was struck by lightening. Shrug ok? But later on his powers help him escape the villain in the story so there's that right? Kew, the love interest in our story, is a sweet not terribly rich girl just making her way through life. I found it odd that Kew is sort of portrayed as a poor girl but her parents have this massive and quite stunning farm house. I'd consider her more middle class but again, you have to suspend reality in dramas right? None the less Kew is a strong female lead that can sometimes be a bit annoying in her stubbornness. There were times Thun was trying to protect her but she refused to even consider it was for her own good. I felt like she was making him into a bad guy when in fact he was trying to validly help her in dangerous situations. As the story progresses, Thun and Kew meet, fall in love, and deal with their past lives coming together with their present ones. I don't want to ruin too much of the story but needless to say there are plenty of villains trying to keep them apart and they have to get through a few obstacles to get their happily ever after. I think the story hits the floor running from the first episode and there's a bit of confusion what exactly is going on but as it progresses we gain more and insight into what is going on with Thun and his interesting "dual personality". The supporting case lends some great comic relief to the story as they are just so damn silly at times. Kew's parents were also very refreshing and added a nice element to the story. You have to suspend a good deal of reality with this story though and there are so many dumb things that happen you have to question whether to laugh or cry at the sheer stupidity of it all. Like the fact the villain gets away time and time again when locked up with guards. But none the less it was a very entertaining, cute, and sweet romance, The story dragged a little at the end and I felt like they showed less and less interactions with Thun and Kew which was rather sad. I have to admit I was crushingly disappointed that the two characters never once touched lips in the entire drama. It was always a kiss on the forehead or the cheek and most times Kew would fight off Thun's intention to kiss her because she was either angry or too shy. None the less, watching Two Spirits Love was time well spent and it's made me quite the Mario and Mint fan girl. I'd love to see these two in another drama together. They bounce off each other beautifully!
