"Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."
Woah, I seriously have to say this but. I can't think of anyone better than JeHoon for the role of DoGi, because he is PERFECT!!
This man pulls off any disguise role here no matter the situation, and he still manages to avenge those who request his services.
Every single element on his team is essential to the missions, and the way they carry their taxi services using retro game machine or even a karaoke bar on their clients is always amusing to watch, however what really makes this drama interesting is how it shows the scum of society that commits such filthy crimes while trying to get away with it. Praise DoGi! He is here to teaching them the value and the power of Justice by his own methods and well most of the time requiring his iron fist knuckles.
The amount of ACTION in this drama is worth the watch, and the most engaging is the way it is filmed like a one shot or in angles that allows us to be a part of the action, almost as if we're him or a character in a videogame and we're kicking those thugs who deserve it.
And let's not forget all the fast and furious scenes where taxi's truly shine bright.
Taxi Deluxe is on a whole other level of awesome, with changing licenses, several mechanical improvements, and even arsenal that can wreck any vehicle that comes in between of those trying to avenge victims of injustice, that can't be helped by the law.
Personally the prossecutor HaNa annoyed most part of the drama, although I can get her way of thinking and morals, sometimes her impulsive actions and non filter words, were out of context for me on how someone who seeks to use justice so much to punish criminals with the law, can be so thoughtless to disregard other's safety just to reach her goals.
The cliché happens when there's a loss. And it's thanks to that unfortunate accident that she gets into her senses hopefully until the end and do something worthy and rational for a change.
DoGi is my favorite along with GoEun (kickass hacker SFL who also drives a motorcycle), the family bond they share as if the are an older brother and younger sister without any blood bonds is trully remarkable, in a certain way they both created a small family with the rest of the team composed by SungChul (their boss and leader), KyungGoo and JinEon (the two mechanics). Each and everyone having a similar story of brutal loss and grief of family members, that connects them in a search for personal vengeance and justice hence why they started this deal in the first place, despite against the law itself.
EVERYTHING so far is awesome here, even with the plot twists of betrayal written by the change of screenwriters in the drama, they still managed to insert enough action and punishments of the traitors to get us around. I just hope the last two episodes won't be further from that reality and that everything will fall in place.
It's clear that this system of revenge although fun to watch and to cheer up too, isn't build to last, they are breaking laws and for the record also commit crimes to fight crime, although we can all agree that DoGi is amazing, he is a broken man whose mother was brutally killed making him the bitter soul he is when it comes to law and order, who failed him and many counterparts of victim's families.
Now that HaNa has opened her eyes, I hope she will be helpful enough to help him out on that.
THANK GOD for the no romance here.
At least 14 episodes seen so far and nothing leading there.
Good I started watching this for the theme, and JeHoon as DoGi.
Glad it's staying that way, at least is one drama that does not focus on romance or let's it ruin and take over the plot.
Here we gladly accept that the plot and characters individuality and their struggles and vengeances are more important.
EDIT: now that I've FINISHED this drama all I have to say is that it had a really satisfying ending :') a rarity for most.
What can we say of having justice served in the most unconventional ways, sure they took revenge by breaking the law and had to dissolve the organization of Rainbow Transport, it was like I said inevitable and bound to happen (or so we thought), but what truly differentiates him from the others, is that they didn't did use crime for personal benefit without considering the victims. They did it to appease them and help them when the Law couldn't extend to them in time. Also they all were willing to yield the punishments for their doings, even if they had a noble purpose behind the cause.
The final mission of revenge, was served cold and perhaps the most bittersweet, since it took so long and took all of them by surprise. But I am glad they could solve it and fix not only one revenge there but more linked to the same man that ruined countless of lives in there.
Seeing everyone take their time and following their careers and own paths showed the development of the characters that made Rainbow Deluxe Taxi from scratch, they were victims seeking for a purpose, and in the end they found in themselves the strenght and the union of a family. GoEun as a cop and driving a bike, amazing how she passed the civil exam. And to point out that I really loved her conection with DoGi, they acted like big brother and younger sister, it was always heartwarming to see them interact. HaNa also showed her own development throughout the drama, when she learned the value of a life, and how to enforce the law does not always imply follwing the rules, sometimes it's about breaking them to catch the bad guys.
To have her join the team and keep the team ready for action when duty calls, it was the cherry on top of the cake. They all have their own jobs, but at the end of the day when the beepers show RAINBOW, they are a team who avenge people and are able to find more criminals and wrongdoings that are turned on a blind eye when it comes to law enforcement.
THE OST!! Oh my god what to say about it other than it's EPIC most likely.
I mean no one can't get over SILENCE by YB in the fighting or most iconic scenes. It's an anthem and DoGi is the main star.
Am preparing myself for next week's FINALE, because following this drama has been too good and the right adrenaline rush to pump in my veins that I am not entirely ready to let it go.
JeHoon really got me engaged in his acting skills, that I want to see more of him and I do hope he gets more roles in the future.
He should win an award just for this one here. It's a role of many genres, and it fit him like a glove.
Seriously, WHAT THE HECK are you all doing, if not seeing this masterpiece???
