The writer is a genius . . . a time travel at its best
We are flooded with a variety of dramas to watch but can encounter only a few that we appreciate to the bones and give a perfect rating. True enough, “My Perfect Stranger” landed in this category. It has an authentic story of a familiar time travel concept. I revered the mind of the writer. The conflict was evenly mapped out in each episode creating the right intrigue for the viewer’s curiosity to grow. With other dramas the concluding episode is predictable, you can’t expect that here because the suspense remains killing you.
The main focus of the story was still on the family. The bitter falling-out relationship between the family of the two main leads was understood and fixed when Kim Dong Wook and Jin Ki Joo traveled back to the year 1987, meeting the younger versions of their parents and immediate family while looking out for the serial killer but discovered unimaginable truth behind all the tragic incidents.
Oh, I happened to recall “Reply 1988” here because of that same neighborhood and house location they used. Watch out for a beautiful surprise in the role of Jung Jin Young who made a special appearance in the final episode.
