A lot of wasted talent and a beautiful backdrop
Overall the average rating is a 7, because of the actors' charms, the couples' chemistry, and a fantastic island paradise as the setting for at least one couple's romance. All of which was wasted on a very underdeveloped plot and rushed storytelling. When the couples got scenes they were great and the potential was there. Athit (Boun) and Sun (Prem)'s relationship had minimal development it just kind of went from 0-60. The backstory between the main characters is like an outline in the dark that you can barely make out and eluded to by one random clip at the end of the series. I felt like they went back to try to fill in some of the plot holes as quickly as possible with flashbacks. Overall, I don't think this will hold me until Between Us comes out in November. It's left me unsatified.Questa recensione ti è stata utile?

WHY!?!
He should've stayed dead for plot consistency. However, they should not have killed him off in the first place for a better plot line. A series of simple points woven together is best. But since we went down this path I need someone to explain why his parents were willing to kill one of their sons off casket and grave to keep them apart. It was over the top.I love the two characters, but their relationship was formed via trauma bonding over one dead parent and one neglectful parent each, mixed with being lonely teenage boys. If I was a parent who was willing to admit my faults I would want them to get some time and space apart as well as some attention from me, and therapy. They could be gay or bi or whatever. That's none of my business. Just want to know they are both okay. In this case a year or two apart (not strictly they can visit one another and/or carry on an LDR) and some parental quality time. If they could get through that I would not care.
Instead, these parents just added more trauma by killing off one son and leaving the other to grieve. The story was so very random and made little sense. Just stop at the first one.

Fans called for all three side couples to have their own series
This series is purely for entertainment purposes only and it is delivered!! There were four completely different stories played by different couples, but the couples were all friends or rivals so the stories overlapped beautifully. You get to view couples at different stages of their relationship. There is nothing wildly unique about any of their stories individually, but together they keep you engaged as they explore many different scenarios and points of view. There is the long-term secret couple, the fanboy with a crush who gets a chance to work with his idol, the enemies to lovers, and the struggle of a friend who is in love with his best friend. They give you these tried and true plot lines with slight variations and it's enough. The characters are all lovely and likable and all the actors coupled have great chemistry. The female characters were all healthy. ALL of the actors do a great job portraying their characters and as the series progress, you become attached to their friend group. It's even more impressive when you realize that many of these actors have only debuted in dramas 3 years or less ago and have 3 or fewer dramas on their resume. I don't know if the hard times of covid made their talent grow faster to survive. I really don't know, but I am personally excited to see how they all grow as artists.
The production was great and at a level, I did not expect from a smaller newer production company.
The music Jeff Satur with his smooth wide-ranged siren vocals sings the opening theme song. I was addicted.
Trigger Warning (Just in case) -The most enjoyable thing is:
This is a light-hearted enjoyable series. That avoids all of the common BL tropes that I personally find uncomfortable and/or problematic no domestic violence, sexual abuse in ANY forms, no significant age gaps with the 17 or younger crowd, and no partner shaming.

love the actors
The story is sweet. Hey, who doesn't want romance when they are on a getaway? When you are on a break in a new place we all hope for a little adventure. New place, new people, anything is possible. The story plays around with this. To give you a not unique but cute storyline. The actors are good. These two actors played their roles well. Genesis Redido makes his character charming, which is hard because he is constantly lying, and frisky. Kaloy Tingcungco character is sincere and brave. It was a little too short, but loved it.Questa recensione ti è stata utile?

Finally!!!
I needed this show. BL/ML drama seems to be sexy, cute, romantic, and relevant while the GL dramas never really hit the same like women can be cute, vulnerable, sexy, romantic, and honest. Just give me the same human elements. This does it in a lot of ways. The complaint is I needed kisses. GL/WL dramas are also so dry. Like they are trying to make pretty. Pearl brings up a lot of relevant issues like biphobia. It sucks. It really does. I am nervous to say I am bi. I always feel like I have to choose and I really love women, but I also feel like men have their charms. The other is .....let's talk sex because we all reserve the right to enjoy if we choose to have it. We all should stay in tune with our bodies and safe. The queen brings all these things up.Questa recensione ti è stata utile?

Good
I get uncomfortable with the way Jaime is staring at Win. Now I realize I was prob. being empathic to what the actor was conveying. I am interested but uncomfortable. Also felt really bad for Heart she had her heartbroken and this just seemed like a setup for more heartache. However, as the story unfolds you question more and more if Heart even cares. I feel like she can see the sparks flying between Jaime and Win. Is she just happy being loved partially by Jaime because it means that she can be closer to Win? The longing glances and interlocking fingers along her hips. You can see it on camera if you didn't catch it the first time it can be replayed through Win's Vlog. I hope each character finds happiness. The story is one that grabs you and the actors did a great job bring that story to life.Questa recensione ti è stata utile?

WATCH until the END
I was about the give up at episode one, but for some reason, I didn't and I AM SO very happy I didn't. At first, this series is concerning a love story between a stalker and a bully, but once both points of view are examined you realize two things. Thing one: the two main characters may be meant for one another as they are like dualities of one another. Thing two: they are both kind of crazy. What starts off as a sketchy love story where you don't know who to feel bad for becomes a beautiful tale of accepting people and loving them for who they are.Spoiler:
There is a concerning mock mass shooting scene that may be a trigger or just a bit uncomfortable.

Back up Candy
I came for Yihaw. I loved her character in the other series. She was strong, independent, and deeply loyal. The chemistry of the main two couples was great. I can say I honestly always disliked Knock as a character. He is childish and petty, but he makes some good points. He loved the man and wanted to express his love. Nothing wrong with that, but not calling your partner before you go on an all-night-er with a friend and having them worried sick about you is wrong, and playing way too many mind games is wrong. I truly love Cho and Yihaw's relationship. Yihaw annoyed me a bit, yes. Auto assuming Cho was gay and escalating the conflict between Knock and Korn bugged me. Also, the Bi man equals man hoe out for anyone comment was upsetting. But she was a great friend. The end was the worst and best. I was honestly super bored with the relationship drama by ep 8 the tacky overly dramatic villain shook things up. This series is like okay candy you settled on because they were out of Skittles. Not what you wanted or winning any awards, but it's okay.Questa recensione ti è stata utile?

Mixing up some potion with that chemistry
I am completely biased. I love Genesis. He is a good actor in all honesty. His character was unsure and nervous at the same time. Lying in attempts to save his heart, Feeling insecure and unsure because the guy he has had a web crush on for like years is now in front of him. Shooting his shot despite the fear. His character was sweet and touchy ...smooth with lines at times but nervous. The character was cute and sexy. The two leads had chemistry. Stolen glances, flirtation one-liners. and I am not talking to him pouts all delivered with sweetness and/or believability. James and Dale are cute and the embodiment of those clumsy and sweet moments of getting to know and fall for someone new.Questa recensione ti è stata utile?

Acting and actors
The ACTING and CHEMISTRY make all the difference in the film. Not just that of the main actors, but the supporting cast as well. They do an amazing job at making you feel like you are looking in on a real friend circle. The chemistry the friend group has is great. The main actors sucked you into their relationship so fast it's head spinning and you feel like you're a part of that circle cheering your friends on as they find happiness. The only complaint that maybe had was their lack of sensuality it doesn't kill their believability because of the good acting. They just seem like one of those couples that have been together for a while and express affection by tickling, teasing, and joking which makes me want them together more. Think because I came into the series excepting not to like it I got a great experience. It is simply the story of two friends that happen to fall in love and the people who love them. Like the Filipino more serious and flirty Friends.Questa recensione ti è stata utile?

A little Redemption
I am not from the Philippines. and I am new to Filipino culture. So there is no bias when I say I like the movie and it did a good job redeeming the series for me. I went on a now 10 day Pinoy BL binge. mostly based on suggestions from youtube and this site. The series was good but after watching other BL Dramas I can say the acting was stiff. Tony Labrcus does not emote well and sometimes the partner chemistry was off. The Characters were great and endearing and the story sweet. The movie was much more believable you can tell the actors were much more comfortable with each other. Tony did a good job expressing the insecurity of not knowing your sexual identity, but still wanting to own your truth. You are in love and you don't care who it's with. He comes out without knowing in order to be with the person he loves. He does good in the series hitting this note as well. The self-awareness of Mico is great as he admits the newborn babygay vibes. It's awesome to see him step into himself. Mico has a part of my heart because he is a brave charming character but fave character JunJun. He is just a smart intuitive and insightful sage character. He is the Yoda of the story. Yes. There were still awkward moments and scenes that should've been flushed out, but the actors really step up their game. It's worth seeing both the series and the movie just to see the growth. In my Top 10, but not Top 5. My Top three are In Between (Sa Pagitan ng Kamusta at Paalam), Gameboys, and Gaya Sa Pelikula..................
