I did not expect to love it
This is my first review, I don't know how it will come out and I don't even think it will be read but I'll try anyway.
I'll start by saying that it's been a long time since I've had a block on everything and I rarely start and finish a TV series, especially Korean ones. I certainly didn't expect not only to be able to finish this drama of 34, I repeat, 34 episodes... I also enjoyed it. I never expected something like this, especially not from a drama that I started by chance, of which I didn't even know the existence.
I started the series with no expectations and without really understanding what I was getting into, the first few episodes were surprisingly funny, I thought I was bored with the countryside of the main character and instead it was a breath of fresh air. But good and carefree things don't last long and slowly, slowly, between one laugh and another I found myself sighing and crying for the sad lives of these three characters.
This story talks about many things, it talks about not taking the people we love for granted, it shows how hard it is to take care of a person with a neurodegenerative disease, it shows how a parent's love can be great but also fragile.
BONG SOON: She is a sunny, simple girl, a bit silly but not in an annoying way. She has a lot of grit and even in pain she manages to carry on with her head held high by rolling up her sleeves. I didn't think I would like her and yet, in the end, she's a beautiful character and I have to give my compliments to Eugene because she was really good, like the two MLs I slowly fell in love with this little girl because I think it's inevitable.
THE MLs: Ah what can I say, they made me fall in love, two people so beautiful but so problematic... the first one is a good soul but a bit naive and the other one is an egotistical playboy who actually has a heart of gold. They made me melt, undecided until the last episode on who I loved more. I feel sorry for both of them and would have loved the ending regardless of the choice. It was great to see them grow, change from the first episode to the last, they took back control of themselves and their lives in a mature and natural way
The story is not perfect, it has a lot of useless characters but they give a little lightness to the important issues that are touched upon.
IF YOU DON'T LIKE LOVE TRIANGLES this drama is NOT FOR YOU, if instead you tolerate them and want to see one where there is doubt until the end then this drama is for you.
I'm still conflicted, I would have been happy with both men.--. , they knew how to make them perfect for her. The rest of the cast is good, it wasn't annoying but at a certain point, I just wanted to understand where the story was going.
I'm sorry for the ending a bit rushed, I would have liked to see the end of some dynamics (the guards friends, the colleagues in the kitchen, the FL doing the ged and passing it or even her relationship with her biological parents). I feel like crying having to say goodbye, I'm not ready, after so long I finally liked something, I can't believe it.
It was undoubtedly a good drama, I don't know if I'll ever see it again, maybe I will or maybe just some parts but honestly, I think I'll take a good memory with me, it kept me company in a very particular moment of my existence and allowed me to cry together with someone. If you're looking for something funny, something touching and with a hint of warmth and old fashioned then check out this sort of family drama where the love of cooking and others is at the heart of it all. Despite being sad at times it's never really over the top or cheesy and still makes you laugh. I'm going to miss it...
