IF YOU ARE SEEING THIS TITLE DON'T WATCH THIS GARBAGE SERIES
If you're contemplating spending your time on "My Military Valentine" (2024), you might want to reconsider. The direction in "My Military Valentine" is abysmal. It feels like the director had no clear vision or understanding of how to weave a coherent story. Scenes lack continuity, and the pacing is erratic, leaving viewers confused and disengaged. It's as if the director tried to piece together a narrative with no sense of direction, resulting in a jumbled mess that fails to captivate.
The music in this series does nothing to enhance the viewing experience. It feels out of place and poorly integrated into the scenes. Rather than complementing the emotions and action on screen, the soundtrack is more of a distraction, often detracting from key moments. It's evident that little thought went into the selection and placement of the music.
Action sequences are perhaps the worst aspect of "My Military Valentine." They are poorly choreographed, lack excitement, and are often so unrealistic that they become unintentionally comical.
The leads in this series seem utterly lost. Their performances are wooden and unconvincing, with no chemistry between them. It's hard to believe that these actors were chosen for their roles, as they appear to have no grasp of their characters or the story. Watching them attempt to emote and interact is a cringeworthy experience.
The director has created a piece of work that is, quite frankly, one of the worst I've seen in a long time. It’s hard to fathom how something this poorly executed made it to the screen.

THE ONLY THING I LEARNED WAS PRIVACY IS VERY IMPORTANT
I binge-watched Hierarchy (2024) just because it only has seven episodes. I'll be honest about what I felt about this show. The story isn't anything new; it's been done many times around the globe. However, I was happy with how they treated the male lead's characters. I can see that the show has some inspiration from the Elite TV series. As always, to differentiate between the classes, they used drugs, sex, and alcohol. I mean, you can tell this story without these elements, or if the writers wanted to touch on this area of society, they should have gone all the way and made the characters more grey and darker. Since the premiere on Netflix, they had so many opportunities with this kind of story structure. I also felt this kind of story has already been done in Korea too. If not the story, then the situation or surroundings, for example: Penthouse, The Glory, Weak Hero Class 1, etc.
Production-wise, the quality is good. The art direction was on point. The cinematographer did a really good job; there were many creative shots, and it was well-edited. However, I think the OST of this series could have been better. I wasn't into it (this could be my personal taste, so don't hate me for that).
Now, let's talk about the acting. Everyone did a fine job, and they can improve in the future, I guess. But I was really impressed by Choi Won Young (Jeong Ki Young [Jae Yi’s dad]). He did an amazing job portraying an evil dad. I was really impressed by him.
One thing I really wish is that they had made the male lead into an anti-hero (my personal opinion).
Since they hinted that there could be a second season by showcasing an end credit scene in the final episode and leaving us with an open end, I wish they would bring another female lead for our male lead.
So, I will give this show a total of 7 stars out of 10.
