Short and Sweet Cliché

Honestly Once Upon A Small Town is like a breath of fresh breeze. The last couple of weeks, the dramas that I have been watched/watching are quite heavy and dark and this is the perfect drama to take a moment from those dramas and relax.

It's not a long story which is one of the main reasons I started the drama (Only 12 episodes and each episode is around 35 mins). The story is quite simple with the typical Seoul person trying to adapt to the countryside. (Reminds you of Hometown Cha Cha Cha)

Although I found the SML to be bit too passive aggressive. And at the very beginning I was a bit taken back by the FL as she didn't really seem to do her job as a police officer. In the end I just put aside all logic and just relaxed watched the drama as the other dramas which I am currently watching is making me go through a rollercoaster of emotions. Tbh there are many things that seems not so logical and sometimes a bit cringe but still it's enjoyable. Last two episodes seem to be a bit rushed since they had to put everything in two episodes.

Overall Once Upon A Small Town is a sweet and endearing drama that will make you relax and smile throughout its episodes. Perfect drama to take break from the current heavy and dark kdramas.

Ps. there is ALOT of animals as an animal lover I was very very happy.

Best Xianxia Drama Of The Year.

Honestly Love Between Fairy and Devil is one of the best xianxia dramas I watched in recent years. I went in with low expectations since the recent dramas of that genre didn't really love upto the hype and plus I needed something to kill time while waiting for Love Like The Galaxy episodes. I got curious about the drama after AvenueX told that there will be amazing CGI so I came for the CGI.

But I was so blown away by LITERALLY EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS DRAMA. First of all Dylan Wang, he was the most unexpected surprise. After the whole Miss the Dragon, I didn't have much expectations but boy he delivered the best DFQC EVER and our Esther Yu was amazing as usual. The whole cast was PERFECT. They all played their role perfectly and to the point.

I thought the story will be not that interesting but AGAIN I WAS SO WRONG. The story is not that complicated but it was so well written (no loopholes) and usually in xianxia dramas I tend to skip the mortal realm part but here it was the BEST. Not overly sad but super cute and sweet.

If there is something I wish that they improved was the pacing of the last 6 episodes. It started to feel a bit rushed to the ending. In my opinion, they could've taken out or reduced the length of the whole twins story line since it didn't really have much of an impact.

Overall it has amazing CGI, costumes are on point, story is well written and acting was delivered perfectly. I can go on and on about the drama but I'll stop now.

A Witty RomCom Roller Coaster

Welcome to the world of Bo Ra! Deborah, a drama that dives headfirst into the tumultuous stages of relationships. While it's not flawless, it captivates viewers with its refreshing dose of common sense.

The storyline is a stroke of genius, my friends. It skillfully unravels the personal growth journeys of not just one, but almost all the characters in this wild ride.

Let's start with the enigmatic Bo Ra. Initially, she tried desperately to fit the mold of her ex's preferences, turning herself into a lifeless Barbie doll. It was infuriating to watch, but also strangely relatable. The breakup wrecked her, no doubt, but it also paved the way for her transformation into the best version of herself. Sure, her post-breakup actions were cringe-worthy, but who hasn't gone a little bonkers in matters of the heart?

Then we have the dynamic duo of Bo Ra and Soo Hyuk. They became each other's pillars of support, witnessing each other's lowest moments and forging an unbreakable bond. Bo Ra didn't force Soo Hyuk to be someone he's not; instead, she helped him conquer his communication challenges by meeting him halfway. And when Soo Hyuk uttered those magical words, "Nothing can make me stop liking you," it was like the missing puzzle piece for both of them.

However, there's a slight hitch. While we see Bo Ra and Soo Hyuk grow and triumph over their pasts, we yearn for a glimpse of their lives beyond the bubble. What do they enjoy doing together? How do they navigate the complexities of a real relationship? Those little details would've added a powerful punch to their storyline. Nevertheless, they still gift us an impactful tale.

Now, let's delve into the other couples. Sang Jin's story starts strong with a heartfelt portrayal of divorce and failed communication. However, his new love interest is a hot mess. Their lack of chemistry and puzzling storyline progression leave us scratching our heads. Did he succumb to her charms simply because she fulfilled his desires? We're left perplexed.

On to Yu Jung and Jin Woo, the married couple who resemble more like roommates. Their resolution to dive into foreplay feels like a band-aid solution rather than a genuine fix. Jin Woo could use some lessons in showing appreciation, and meeting halfway on each other's interests wouldn't hurt either. Let's just say their ending didn't quite hit the mark.

Lastly, the young love of Bo Mi and Jin Ho disappoints. Their storyline had tremendous potential, but it crumbled under the weight of an accidental pregnancy. Bo Mi's independence takes a nosedive, and we barely know anything about Jin Ho beyond his love-struck persona. How will he support Bo Mi and their twins? We're left wondering.

Overall, Bo Ra! Deborah is a healing and growth-infused drama worth sinking your teeth into. The main leads' romance, while lacking screen time, still manages to captivate. It's not the best RomCom in existence, but hey, it gets the job done. Prepare for a roller coaster of clichés, cringe, and embarrassment, served with ample doses of comedy, sarcasm, and realism. The actors deserve applause for their stellar portrayals, making us love, hate, laugh, and cry right alongside them.

However, there are a few bumps along the way. The accidental pregnancy arc for the side couple? Totally unnecessary and ruins a perfect match. The main leads deserved more romance, as their annoying exes and side characters hogged too much screen time. And that uncomfortable relationship between Sang Jin and Uri? It made us squirm in our seats.

A thriller with a gloomy ending.

Big Mouth is one of the best thriller kdramas I have ever seen. The cast is amazing and the acting is superb. Yoona and Lee Jong Suk both delivered the best performance and let's not forget the villains who made us really go around the circles trying to figure out who is the real Big Mouse is.

The plot of the story is unique and interesting which keeps the suspense alive until the very last episode . The chemistry between the lead couple is sweet and endearing. However I didn’t like the ending of the drama, it ended too hastily. For a series that evoked excitement throughout its run, this ending is a surprisingly gloomy and sad one.

The reason why I didn’t like the ending was because the ending felt rushed and there was no need for the female lead to die. Her death only serves the purpose of pushing Chang-ho’s character development. I personally think the couple should have gotten a happy ending because of all the hardship they went through together. The lead couple went through so much pain and misery so I think they deserved to have a happily ever after. In fact, we could have gotten the very same ending with Mi-ho alive, well and supporting Chang-ho in his endeavours to become a good Big Mouse.

In the end we got Chang-ho’s transformation into Big Mouse is complete and Do-ha gets his punishment. Also I was very surprised that Chang-ho processes his wife’s terminal illness quicker than I expected. Overall, a sluggish conclusion to a truly thrilling story that ended on a bleak and gloomy note.

A Love That Span Three Lifetimes.

Till The End of the Moon should the be the definition of a rollercoaster ride in the Oxford Dictionary. From the first episode till the very end it was an emotional rollercoaster from being excited, exhilarated, or happy and making you feel sad, disappointed, or desperate.

Now, is this drama perfect? No, some parts are kind of weak, inconsistent and a bit coherent like how it abruptly ends the episode. This was probably due to the cutting down the number of episodes. But I was hooked throughout the story, and the chemistry between the FL and ML are worth 5 stars alone.

Speaking of ML, there is no one that can play Devil God/Tantai Jin/ Cang Jiu Min/Ming Ye so well as Luo Yunxi. The four characters are different from each other yet he managed to pay them flawlessly. Specially when there are scenes where he is facing himself, you can clearly see that both characters are different and he is that character in that moment.

From all four characters, Tantai Jin is my favourite. Rather than saying that Luo Yunxi played Tantai Jin, it's accurate to say Luo Yunxi was Tantai Jin. He convinced me that no one can be Tantai Jin except him.

I became a Tantai Jin apologist pretty early in the story as you can see him trying but still it doesn't work and firmly rooted for him until the end. Is he evil? Yes. Psychotic? Yes, for a big part of the story but at the end he seems to be more righteous than some of the so called "good people"

Of course Bai Lu definitely did a great job playing Li Su Su/Ye Xi Wu/Sang Jiu. Her acting as Ye Xi Wu is my favourite. Specially the emotional scenes where she really was Ye Xi Wu at that moment and can't forget Demon Sang Jiu who was on point.

Bai Lu and Luo Yunxi together is an explosion of chemistry. These two really know how to build up the tensions and those glances. Yes those glances are like the best from mocking glances to sad glances to intimate ones.

I didn't really pay much attention to the 2nd CP of Chen Du Ling and Deng Wei as it was not working for me. (The characters weren't my cup of tea). But the 3rd CP was one I was rooting along with the main CP. Loved the whole dynamic of the seductress Fox demon and somewhat of innocent General.

Human arc is the BEST arc for me in the drama. I won't lie that I pretty much skipped ALOT of the dream arc because I really wanted to see Tantai Jin. Part of wish that they cut down the dream arc a bit and focused more on the ending so we would've gotten a much more completed ending like the novel.

The customs were actually very nice specially Tantai Jin's outfits after being the ruler. Every character's outfits seemed to reflect their character's personality well. CGI was good and the osts were enjoyable specially the ending ost.

This is a good drama for those who love morally grey characters, or rather, enjoy unapologetically evil and ruthless MLs but has a soft side to him as well. Compared to the novel, the drama ML is very much more human and more compassionate. The FL in the drama is not cold hearted as the one in the novel.

All in all, it's not a drama for the faint at heart, but it's still a good story if you like romance xianxia with strong and morally flawed characters, demonic vs righteous CP, enemies to lovers and an overall good plot and good writing. There are even some cute side characters to make up for all the angst.

Ps. I think we all expected the ending to be like that but still I wished we got the novel ending.
