I just can not stand this drama. It is not the worst I've seen, but oh is it painful. I don't know why it's one of the most recommended dramas and I don't know why so many people love it. Actually, the only reason I think people like it is because they think the lead is hot and/or because it's the first drama they have seen.

Initially I like this drama. I liked the lead female,Makino Tsukushi, as a strong female role because she would't succumb to the arrogant F4(especially from the lead male Domyouji Tsukasa). It was cliche, but I've come to expect that in any japanese teen drama. Some reactions and plot devices were unrealistic, but I can ignore that. What turned me off was the complete 180 the drama took from reality involving Domyouji. Let's get this straight, Domyouji is a narcissistic, obnoxious, arrogant creep. Nothing leads me to feel empathy for his character. Domyouji does awful, terrible, things to harass Makino; even going as far as hiring people to sexually assault her. The 'excuses' for his behavior (his background story) are not at all valid for being such an awful human being and I feel no empathy for the character.

I had to quit watching after I searched for the ending. I couldn't make myself sit through the entire drama only to be enraged at the end.

The only semi saving grace for this show was the acting. Oguri Shun is a brilliant actor, and Jun Matsumoto portrays his character well (as does Mao Inoue). So I guess if you are a fan of the manga you will like it (???). For me, two thumbs way way down.

Um ok. So this was a thing.

Bottom line the main two characters are terrible, but the supporting cast and the bigger plot line are actual pretty decent which is what keeps this drama a float.

The main actress (Honda Tsubsa) suffers from Kristen Stewart face. That may the the result of terrible character writing, but it's bothersome. The romance between Narumi and Suga was not well written and drug on to long. We get, you are both emotionally stunted, can we move on now?

However, the supporting cast is amazing. Great acting, and the smaller story lines are a lot more interesting.

The biggest plus of this drama is the episodes are short. If you have little time and just want a drama fix this will do. If you are finding it hard to make it through the first two episodes stick around for when the side characters emerge.

I have fallen head over heals in love with the drama. In short: the plot is fresh and original with a superb cast to back it up.

For the entirety of the drama you are left constantly questioning everything. What is Yoshimoto Koya's (Sakurai Sho)true intentions? Who is the true victim in this story about an oblivious and delusional family? Is Yoshimoto sensei even the good guy? My drama pet peeve is when the story line is cookie cutter standard and you can guess every twist. That is certainly not the case here.

The acting is even better. I was skeptical about Sakurai Sho's acting abilities, but he blew me away. He doesn't carry the show along though, Kamiki Ryunosuke and Suzuki Honami do a phenomenal job (along with the rest of the cast, but those two were my favorite.

This drama is a must watch. The only reason it gets a 9 and not a 10 from me is for silly dues ex machinas here and there. This is one of my new favorites and will probably rewatch it soon.

Honestly, this is one of the worst dramas I've ever seen. Someone mentioning the title to me sends me in an automatic rant mode. I feel like I wasted my life with the 7 or so episodes that I watched.

I came into this drama with high expectations. I knew it was popular and every jdrama sight practically faints over Yamapi. At first I liked it. It's a time travel drama, but I liked the idea of being able to travel back in time through photographs. It's original and interesting.

As many others have said this type of drama begs for repetition. He can't confess to her in the first episode because then the drama would be over. The drama delivers zany misunderstandings, close calls, and you actually do want to root for the main male lead Iwase Ken.

What makes me give it such an awful review is how it ends. I ended up becoming tired of the repetitive plot lines and search to see how the drama ended to see it if was worth my time. It is not at all. I wont spoil how it ends, but I will say that the ending is so stupidly contrived and unrealistic that it offends my life. I will say that the future takes place at a WEDDING. Not even a wedding, the reception to said wedding. The main female lead and love interest, Yoshida Rei, is MARRIED the the present time. The only way I could see the ending actually being decent is if they villainize the love rival, Tada Tetsuya, but he is actually a pretty decent guy so it doesn't even a little bit work.

The horrible ending on top of sub-par acting and repetition make me loathe this drama.

I love this drama! Hungry! is so much more than originally meets the eye, and there is a little something for everybody to love.

Hungry! includes your typical "love, happiness, family" themes (and pulls these off very well), but my favorite was how they handled following your dreams. Sometimes, dreams change, and even when you do settle on one the path may change and evolve over time. I love this drama for the realism. The challenges the main character, Eisuke, has to overcome (in both his personal life and starting up a restaurant) are very real and handled in a very human way. This adds so many bonus points because dramas have a bad habit of problem solving through Deus Ex Machina and it drives me crazy.

But what makes this drama top notch is the humor. Several moments had me laughing out loud and I typically had a smile while watching. The writing is great and (most) of the actors did a fantastic job.

Check out Hungry! I highly recommend it!
