I have no clue what that means.

I always loved to watch Chinese Movies.
There is much to learn from China's Rich Culture. I wanted to watch a Chinese story from a common person perspective. Majority of the movies/series that comes out are related to their dynasties or some warrior movies and their politics. I wanted to see how a common person lived in that period. This series depicted that so well. I was lucky to stumble up on this series. Wonderfully put together. They took their time to develop the characters in the story. The actors and actress were simply superb.

Warning: This series is very addictive and you may not sleep for days until finish the series.

Around the world power corrupts, china is no exception. You see some of that weaved in to the story. Last three or 4 episodes, I could clearly see things were rushed to complete this epic series. Cast were reduced to few main characters except for few scenes. The story was also moved along quickly. Having said that, this is a fantastic series and you should watch it.
I have re-watched some of the episodes to get a better understanding of the story.

This show was free via Amazon Prime, not any more. It is available in youtube, quality and subtitles are not up to par.

This drama was unwatchable - A disaster

What a disaster? They created a decent drama with a good cast. What they did was unforgiveable. They chopped all the scenes into small bits, jumbled it and pushed it as a show into netflix.

What they did in editing was a disaster, they did a disservice to the crew, supporting cast and everyone worked in this drama.

The show already had mystery, good story, good cast etc, they did not have to create more mystery by making it a puzzle by randomly organizing bit and pieces of the scenes. Unwatchable.

The show was a complete drag. I accidently skipped an episode, i did not even notice it. I felt i was watching the episodes without skipping an episode. Later i realized you can skip more episodes and you wont notice it because the story and screenplay was real slow.

Skip it

I should have dropped this show earlier, but i expected to get better. Unfortunately it was just becoming worse and worse.
There is no reason this show should exist in this current format. mydramalist.com requires 500 or more words to explain how bad this show is. I am not sure what to do here instead of rambling about how bad the show is and was.

Acting was bad
ScreenPlay was terrible
Story was ok

The ML suppose to be smart and calculative, the writer was probably dumb so he could not write anything smart, the screenplay and director decided to chop up the scenes randomly, jumbled it up and put together this show so that they could confuse the people who are watching this terrible show.

A Must Watch

A great RomCom.

Comedy: Well written/acted/presented comedy scenes.

Story: is good. A simple well known story. They did not try to do too much with the story. Kept it simple. Sometimes less is more. For this show it was more than enough.

Acting: Very good. Especially FL. Supporting Female Actress was a good find.
ML did a decent job to carry the show.
Seo Hye Won was funny as hell. I rewatched her scenes few times. Cute and Funny.

ScreenPlay: Very well done.

Love the show.

This is one of the show I thought it could have more episodes.

Romantic Show

Encounter was ineffable. I felt like I encountered a unique, soul searching romantic sensory. Just watch the show.
The cast did a fantastic job. This type of story is tough to pull off and make it believable. I believe they have achieved it. The story flows effortlessly.
I love the Go Chang Suk and Shin Soo Yeon character.
I do have a problem with the last episode. Usually this has to be spot on otherwise it will ruin the whole show. The writer had so many ways to end the show which could added more closure. The writer/director chose the vanilla version. Ending could have put the whole show on a pedestal. But it did not. I am a bit disappointed. This show still earns 10 stars from me because there is more to this show than just the ending.
It is difficult to pull off a show without any flaws. This show had it own share of flaws that does not mean it wasn't good.

Sloppy Show

Story was tolerable but it could have been much much better. The directing was terrible, they were too lazy, they did not care how the show turned out. Very disappointed.

The cast were good. I know the ML and FL and other cast members are good, however they can only do so much. The acting team could not show case the full potential due to the laziness of the production team.

There are several instances you could see that there was no effort to make a better show. Let us do the minimum and get by was the goal. If the production team is reading this review, I humbly request you to stop creating these types of shows and switch your career to something you would put some effort.

Not worth your time

I do not believe it worth your time to watch this. There are many extraordinary shows available for you to watch.

The story was slow and confusing
Acting was ok i guess
screenplay was ok.

If the story was written a little bit better, it could have tolerable. I recommend not watch this show. I should have dropped this show earlier, but i expected to get better. Unfortunately it was just becoming worse and worse.

Did not Meet Expectation

I had very big expectation for this Drama. I am very disappointed. I watched this show, all 7 episodes just for Kim Da Mi. If she was not in the show, I would have dropped it after the 1st show. I personally do not like shows with ton of flash backs. This show is littered with flash backs, which is irritating and annoying. I am not saying you should not have flash back in a show, there is a limit.

You get the point. Every Episode has it. Absolutely annoying.

This story so far has no suspense no pull so they are manufacturing it by slicing and dicing the scenes and jumbling them so the audience cannot figure out what's going on. I believe they have achieved it and ruined the show. The story is simple, sometimes keeping it simple is much better than the alternative.

The more I think of it, it is becoming more and more frustrating. What a Shame!

Skip it again

Not sure why they decided to create a season 2. As if season 1 was not terrible enough. Season 1 was unnecessary, season 2 is unwatchable.

What a let Down!

What a shit show! Cast were reasonable and they did a pretty good job.

I know making a tv show is not easy, it take time, hard work, money and lot of effort. So I am not always too critical about a show knowing that so many people worked so hard to bring it to their audience. The story was horrible, the story writer could not figure out what the show is about. There was no consistency and continuity. No Creativity.

I am not sure how this was released it in the first place. The Director, what was he doing/thinking directing this kind of show. Is he not ashamed of himself? The story writer, how does he put this on the film to show all of his incompetence for everyone?
I am embarrassed for everyone who made this show.

Overall a Good Show.

Twenty five Twenty One

Kim Tae Ri as Na Hee Do

I have not been exposed to this side of Kim Tae Ri's acting. I especially stayed away from this show because I thought Kime Tae Ti would have a role which was consistent of her past role. Calm, thoughtful, Pleasant and somewhat dormant. Mr. Sunshine, Forest comes to my mind. I liked both the shows. Man O Man was I wrong! Her role and her acting completely different from the other two. I was pleasantly surprised. What a performance! I would say Career Best. I loved each and every scene she was in. I wish i could just make a compilation of just her scenes and rewatch it.


Bona as Go Yu Rim:

I am not familiar with this actress, this is the first I have watched her performance. She was fantastic. Very Talented. She fit the role perfectly. Loved the way she acted throughout the show.


Choi Hyun Wook as Moon Ji Woong

He was great. Very Funny guy. Every Scene he was on was top notch.


Lee Joo Myung as Ji Seung Wan

She was fantastic, I wanted more screen time for her. Whenever she was on screen, things are always interesting. Every scene she was on was rewatchable. I enjoyed her performance very much.

Nam Joo Hyuk as Baek Yi Jin

I liked his name in this show, other than that nothing to write about. Same old same old ML.
His role was insignificant to the story. It looked like this role was forced in to this story.
His performance was just ok. Others regardless of the strength of their role, i felt they brought something to the table. Unfortunately in my opinion he did not. Which was sad. The show would have been much better without this role. Addition by Subtraction. ...Yi Jin role could have been a support role instead of ML.

Story and Screen Play: The story was good. In my opinion, it should have been just about the 4 characters, Kim Tae Ri as Na Hee Do, Lee Joo Myung as Ji Seung Wan, Bona as Go Yu Rim and Choi Hyun Wook as Moon Ji Woong. Although Nam Joo Hyuk as Baek Yi Jin was ok, but his role did not fit. It seemed forced. The story could have been more fun without this character. The show could have spent more time with the other 4 main characters. They were really missed in some parts of the show.

Romantic Story between Hee Do and Yi Jin was again forced, they did not have chemistry at all. The entertainment value of the scenes was lower whenever Kim Tae Ri and Nam Joo Hyuk was on the screen simultaneously. Usually it is other way around whenever the FL and ML is in the screen the value goes up. Choi Hyun Wook as Moon Ji Woong and Bona as Go Yu Rim romance was much more believable and entertaining. Even though they had their own ups and downs, it seemed real and watchable. Whenever they were together in a scene, you did not feel like you need skip those scenes.

Fencing, this part of the story was well written and well presented. It is not easy to direct a sports movie. I am not sure how much research and effort went in to tell this story. It looks like the director and the cast did their home work. Whether they used double or not, every scene looked real and entertaining. Kim Tae Ri and Bona might have gone through some real tough training to be casted in this role.

Friendship: Kim Tae Ri as Na Hee Do, Lee Joo Myung as Ji Seung Wan, Bona as Go Yu Rim and Choi Hyun Wook as Moon Ji Woong Friendship story was well presented to the audience. Their chemistry was awesome. It was very nostalgic whenever they got together and talked about their past experiences.

Overall a very good show. I would just watch this again just for Kim Tae Ri and Lee Joo Myung.
