The difference between a Chinese romance drama and a Korean romance drama is that there’s more non-romance plot in the former. Take Secretary Kim for example. If it’s a Chinese drama we’re definitely spending at least five episodes on “Young-Jun and Mi-So tiredlessly work around the clock to get the arts centre to open early, but they must thwart at least five different corporate espionage schemes from a rival company, complete three different contracts in the nick of time, and break a secret code that hints at a darker mastermind hiding in their company.” While that is not necessarily a bad thing, here we just get “oh you thought some corporate fistfight is going on? Nope, just a catalyst to get those two in a dark room together to deepen their feelings”. Idk, the culture difference just struck at me.

Really Really Really Excellent

It's been a while since I've encountered a show where I just can't wait for the next episode.I don't usually watch shows as they come out. I prefer to wait until the hype has died down and everything is out and I can binge everything at once. Sometimes I put it on my To Watch list for years until I find the right time to finally get to it. Not this show though. I can't wait for the next episode. I keep on scrolling through Twitter and Weibo and MyDrama just to see if I can talk to someone about it.The plot is very well paced. Insanely well paced. Not a second goes by that's wasted. Every shot is there for a purpose. You never get any sense that we do could without this scene or this could be just one line of dialogue, and it's all really well edited together.(Lastly, I have to commend Luo Yunxi's acting, especially the way he delivers dialogue. I can listen to his voice all day long he is insanely good.)
