The first word that came out of my mouth in the first few episodes were "Scandalous", as a joke of course. The main premise of this show felt very real as iv'e never seen a show quite like this one. One Night Spring isn't just a simple romance story to me becasue there were many things in which i havn't seen in other dramas other than this one, bare in mind I started watching dramas last august.

The story intriqued me alot becasue it was about the female lead Jeong In having issues with her relationship with her current boyfriend and then meeting Ji Ho randomly and found a spark. The first thing I want to say is something about the whole cheating thing in this story. In my opinion Jeong In didn't cheat on Ki Seok because she stated numerous times to him that she wanted to break up and we could clearly see they were having problems so Ji Ho just sped up the inevitabal and also save her from a life of misery in my opinion. This also taught me is that if i'm ever in an relationship and im not happy with it and I met someone else in which i could be happier with, i would pursue that (of course i'd break up with my current gf because if I wasn't happy with out relationship in the first place, we wouldv'e broken up anyway.)

The characters in this show were all very well written and no character was wasted in the writing of this show which is very rare in any type of show, everone in this drama had a purpose. Firstly I wanna talk about Ji Ho's son Eun Woo, he is the most cutest thing i have ever seen in a show and he made some of the scenes so nice to watch. Jeong In's Ex firstly I would like to say that I did feel sorry for him at the start but I realised how ungratefull he was and how obsessive with beating Ji Ho whicc was annoying becasue he looked down on him because he had a "flaw". The Husband of Seo In was just a complete dick in my opinion with the whole verbal and pysical abuse he dished out and showed us exactly what not to do in a marriage. Both the sisters were so refreshing to me because i rarely see sismances in dramas and it was great seeing them support each other and look out for eachother which was good to watch.

I lastly want to touch on the topic of everyone in the drama with seeing how having a child is a flaw, I understand it is probably a cultural difference but I know many people with step-fathers or mothers and I just thought everyone was overreacting but I know there is most likely a cultural difference.

Overall this show was a breath of fresh air to me as I have never seen anything like it. I highly reccomend it if you want to see something diffrent and also thrilling in my opinion to watch.

Waste of time

I have never been compelled to make a negative review because they are not worth my time but I just have things to get out there or it will just continue to bug me since it will all bundle up and annoy me. I literally didn't enjoy a single thing about this drama except from the 1st episode in which we get introduced to the two main leads and the supporting cast, maybe it was the best part of the drama because we haven't experienced all the bullshit to come from everyone.

In Kdramas you can feel various emotions like happiness, sadness, tension but for the first time ever in a drama, I felt genuine anger towards to show. Around episode 6-7 where Lee Soo got in a car accident and missed the timing which caused the CEO a Woo Yeon to meet and go out just pissed me off so much because it seemed like the writer just loved to make the two main leads miss each other by the hair in every situation.

I'll be honest I did not like a single character in this show, maybe with the exception of Jin Joo and Sang Hyuk in which they were the only bearable characters. I can tell a lot of people got Second Lead Syndrome which is warranted but I got 'Everyone's a Brick Wall Syndrome'.

First off with the main male lead. I can't like I was really looking forward to him due to Ong Seung Woo but not even he can save the abysmal character that he is. They introduce him as someone who's heart and actions say one thing but his mouth says the complete opposite, like seriously. It was so obvious that he like Woo Yeon but for some reason, he just friend-zoned her time and time again. His cocky narcissistic personality was also so annoying and I don't know how Woo Yeon fell in love with him and stayed that way for 10 years.

Woo Yeon's character also made no sense to me. Why go into relationships purposely knowing you love another person across the planet just to hurt the person you are currently going out with. I disliked her indecisiveness and how she always second-guesses herself. Like if I was Lee Soo I wouldn't like her too. Her character was that boring I literally have nothing to say about her.

The CEO character was also a massive wet wipe. Literally holding everything back being tough on the outside and insecure on the inside. When he realised that Woo Yeon might really go to Lee Soo, he just became plain right annoying with his stalker vibes literally going to where she works and waiting outside her house. He just doesn't know when to give up.

The supporting cast in this drama wasn't anything special in this show. The couple that went out for 10 years was just hard to watch at the female just kept self wallowing in self-pity and didn't know when to accept help and just to overreact and get angry at the people around her was stupid. Her boyfriend deserved so much more for putting up with her. I actually quite like Jin Joo's story that intertwined with Sang Hyuk as they eventually got together after having to jump a few hurdles.

The OST was not anything special to make a not on, to be honest.

Overall I should've listened to my gut around episode 7 and dropped it but my eagerness to see Ong Seung Woo and Shin Ye Eun in a relationship overpowered that and it wasn't even that special, it just felt really different can out of place compared to other dramas I just don't get it. Anyway, I only recommend this drama if you don't give a damn about the story and is only there for the cast in which even that could do that for me. I hope Ong Seung Woo takes a better project next time as he deserved more.

I’ll say right off the bat, historical dramas can either go 2 ways, they can be amazingly good like “The Crowned Clown” or they can be sub par like this one and be quite annoying at times. With this kind of show, it was the kind to where I had to finish it in 2 sittings for me to be satisfied because some shows just eat me up if I don’t know what happens and want a conclusion so I can be done thinking about shows. This was my first time seeing the actors for the leads and I’ll say they didn’t leave a negative impression on me but I would love to see what more they have done to properly evaluate them.

First of the story was quite simple to be honest but one thing that annoyed me is that in the first 7 episode the two main leads had like 2 interactions and neither of them with good ones at that. So these episodes were just torture to get through but once they started interacting I’ll admit it got better as we saw their relationship develop. I was quite satisfied with the ending as it was a good one which made sense to me, it was a nice touch for them to have a child which I predicted when they spent the night together that one episode. I can’t just help that I have a hole in my chest about this show and I can’t quite pinpoint why but I guess watching another drama will fill that.

With the main male lead Lee Kyung as the king, I can neither say I liked nor hated his character because there were times in which he saved scenes but there were others in which I wished he would get a backbone and step up. Something that can’t be explained is the dreams he kept having, it made no sense to why they would add that plot line in the story but I do know why it made sense in terms of the story, the promise the King and Eun Bo made was to help each other so the dreams was technically his way of protecting the Eun Bo.

Eun Bo’s character was quite predictable because I have seen characters like her before to where they want revenge and they infiltrate where the main male lead is and over time they see what they are really like and see that she was lied to about the king and end up falling in love with him like she did when she met him when he was the crown prince. I’ll admit I liked how she wasn’t always a damsel in distress and had a spark to her which made her seem reliable and she can look after herself.

The princes character in my opinion pissed me off a lot at the start of the drama acting so nonchalant and oblivious. The way he hides his true intention didn’t sit right with me. Technically as the main antagonist since there are normally multiple in historical dramas he fulfilled his role I guess. The way he just gave up and killed himself what quite cowardly to me and doesn’t fit his character but it’s done now and I’m glad his character died.

The OST was actually quite good as most historical dramas hit the mark with OST’s, especially the instrumental OST’s so it added to the feelings and made me pay attention.

Overall if your looking for a historical drama, I would most definitely say to look elsewhere and get a good impression of historical dramas as this one does not live up the expectations I would normally give historical dramas. However if your like me and would give anything a try, then be my guest and watch this drama and make your own remark. Luckily I watched “The Crowed Clown” as my first historical drama and it gave me an amazing first impression so if this is going to be your first historical, don’t watch this one but watch “The Crowned Clown” instead.

Make your own opinion and don't just trurst negative reviews

I Want to shine some light in these reviews as most people in this review section are quite negative and I want to talk about the positives. I'll be totally honest I nearly gave this a skip right before I started watching this due to the abundance of bad reviews but I thought let's just do it and am I glad I went with my gut to just watch it. I personally really enjoyed the concept they went with, basically, life as an entrepreneur with the romance mixed in as the main plot with also the budding relationships of friends and family.

I first heard of this Start-Up literally 10 months ago when it got announced since I am a vivid follower of Suzy so I watch all her drama's and keep up to date with her work so to say I nearly skipped this due to bad reviews after waiting 10 months would've been a disservice to myself.

First, of, I want to talk about Suzy's character, Seo Dal Mi. I actually really liked her character as she wasn't just so weak character who relied on the main male lead but she was actually in the limelight and the biggest reason why the company she was a CEO for was a success. I loved how hardworking she was and was trudging through life after basically being ditched by her mother and sister and stayed with her father and grandmother which in my opinion is a better choice than In Jae's in which she does eventually go back. Jea's choice consisted of being riched and having money with no real happy relationships while Dal Mi's choice was being poor but having strong relationships with the people around her especially her Grandmother. If there's any character I would like to be like in this drama it would be Dal Mi but I'm more like Do San which I'll talk about later. She really deserved the success she gained in the end which showed through her hard work. When she decided to let go of Do San by intentionally being harsh to her it was mature because she wanted him to succeed and not be held back but just like Do San I would've rather stayed behind and continue my relationships with the people around me already.

Nam Joo Hyuk portrayed Do Sans character really when and we know he played upbeat characters really well so Do San was a perfect match for him in my opinion. Nam Do San's character really hit home to me as I related to him quite a lot in his personality aspect. I can be loud and confident with the people I feel comfortable with but I can seem weak around people I feel inferior to and can sometimes have low self-esteem. Do San as a character was really fun to watch as they make you want to root for him. In the first episode, I thought he wasn't the main male lead as they didn't even show him but it was actually quite a smart move as we were interested who is this Nam Do San character that got mentioned and teases throughout the episode but they gave us the impression he was a big shot who was rich but that was far from the truth, he was a guy in his 20s trying to push his company forward and become successful. His journey throughout the show is an interesting one because he instantly has to let go of his pride by giving away the CEO position to Dal Mi and he faced multiple knockdowns which affected his self-esteem which was really sad to see since he always compared himself to Han Ji Pyung but eventually became confident in himself after going to LA and coming back but even after that he needs validation from Dal Mi so I wished from an outside view that he was more confident with himself but it did do the story well and added to his character development in the end.

The romance between Dal Mi and Do San was actually fun to watch as visually they were amazing and chemistry wise it was also amazing. There was something that confuses me but I don't quite understand when their 'day 1' was because in kdramas you can kinda see when it started, but in they literally held hands in episode 4 but they weren't dating but ill guess it was when they kissed onto of the roof when Do San smashed the CEO plaque of In Jae's father.

Han Ji Pyung character was actually well written after putting some thought into it. I swear drama screenwriters all have this idea that they will make the 3rd person in the love triangle which is usually a male gracefully give up on the main female which makes us respect and like the character. But to be honest I only ever disliked him in two events of this drama and for the rest, he was a really good character even though he was helping SamSan Tech just because Dal Mi was there but I do have a thought that an inkling inside really believed in the company rather than just wanting Dal Mi wanting to do good. You could say he had an unrequited love which was obvious to everyone but Dal Mi. He was a very critical character who always spoke the harsh truth without really thinking of the consequences but we know he just wanted to help and see the best for them. He made a good point to Dal Mi at the end of the show in which makes me think 'why didn't I think of that', but he said when he read the letters it took him 15 years to find him but when Do San read them it took him literally a day after to find her in which it might sound like an excuse to Dal Mi but it was a very true point which only shows his gracefulness in the end.

Seo In Jae character was also a character which was interesting because they make us dislike her but you also could not say she was wrong with any of the points he made as they were all true. I really like her development as she went from someone who didn't really care about Dal Mi and boasted her choice and became someone likeable to Dal Mi and us the viewer as we saw her become independent from her step-father and eventually took her Seo family name back.

The supporting cast in Start-Up was really good as it had a good set of characters. First off the SamSan Tech team were all a pleasure to watch and we saw a budding relationship between Sa Ha and Cheol San which we did not expect as they jokingly had Cheol San hit on her but she eventually like him. Seol Mi's grandmother was also a gem to watch as you could tell that she really cared for her grand-daughter.

The OST in Start-Up was actually really good. I love how when Suzy does dramas she always adds her own voice to the OST tracklist which just makes her more multi-talented even though she was a singer first. I loved the OST cast which concluded of; Red Velvet, Suzy, OhMyGirl, Cheeze, BOL4, Gaho and 10cm etc.

Overall I really enjoyed this drama and I would highly recommend you to watch this despite the bad review and make your own opinions rather than joining bandwagons. Also if you want to watch a drama about entrepreneurs and life with romance as well then I really recommend this drama as it also has a stellar cast that made this drama what it is.

This show literally reminded me why I love and watch kdramas. Come Hug Me was such an emotional rolercoaster in which in enjoyed every second of of it. There was not an episode in which dissapointed me and each episode was meaningful and had a purpose to the story. From the intricate characters to the story, nothing went wrong when i watched this show.

The first episode gripped me in in the first minute as we are introduced to our two main leads Na Mu and Nak Won. I loved how slow paced the relationship bewteen our leads were as they slowly came back into each others lives 12 years later after the incident. When watching that incident it broke my heart everytime seeing it and I know how much it affected them. When it finally introduced Na Mu as a detective and Nak Won as a successfull actress 3 years later, i wondered how they would cross paths into each others lives becasue they live such different lives but they did it in a way which seemed believable and heartfelt so it didn't seem wrong.

With the main male lead Na Mu, I really loved teh development of his character from the get go becasue as a child he was quiet and obedient to his father who was a monster but after meeting Nak Won he begun to want to change and change his life. He saw Nak Won as a paradise, a place in which he could confide in and feel at peace. Even after the event and when he was in police university, he would look at a poster of Nak Won everyday to feel comfort as he was having a hard time. The more the story unfolded he begun to show the side of him in which if anyone messed with Nak Won he wouldn't be afraid to kill and thats what everyone linked to him being a pyscho like his dad and thats what his father wanted him to be, a monster like him. Becasue of Nak Won, Na Mu was able to calm down and stop himself in times he was about to kill someone and especially his father in the last episode.

With Nak Won, I couldn't help but just feel sorry for her through out the whole show, even though the father of the son she loved, she still said it wasn't his fault her parents died and still stayed with him. When we saw her as a 16 year old in the first episodes I loved how upbeat she was around Na Mu and lovavble she was as character. Then when they met 12 years later she still accepted him even though Na Mu felt sorry to her everytime he saw her.

I loved the support character in Come and Hug Me as they all supported the story nicely and the actors did the script justice. With Hyeon Mu, I didn't like him as a teenager but as we saw him in the latter part of the story we saw how much he was suffering and how much he just wanted a normal family. So Jin which was No Mu's younger sister made me feel so bad for her at the start of the show cause she was a little child and idolised No Mu in which they had to split up with eachother but i'm so glad they met reunited again because she really deserved to live a good life. Lastly the reporter who ended up dying, i don't know what it is but the actor who played her really has a unlikable face and she always place characters I end up hating.

The OST truly made this drama whole as it added emotion to the story and when the OST intrumentals played at sad moments it really made me feel so sad. At the end of the show when it was all over the OST played and it made me think about what happened throughout the whole show and I couldn't stop crying because of how bad i felt for the main leads and how glad I was for the good ending we recieved

Overall if your looking for a melodrama to watch with a heartfelt romance I highly reccoemend this, it was a trully a masterpiece in my oppionion and would have anyone watch it.

This review wont be as detailed as a normal review would be, I just want to get some words off my chest about The King: Eternal Monarch. I came into this drama with very high expectations in which was my mistake because when you have high expectations, you are setting yourself to be dissapointed.

I did enjoy the drama to an extent but I may of been too exited to watch this. I first found this drama on Netflix when it was coming out and found out that Kim Go Eun is the main FL so I was intrigued. I really loved her role in Goblin so I was exited to see on the screen again.

The saving grace of this show in my opinion was the acting of some of the characters and the OST which is too stacked in terms of great singers to be on a drama like this.

I want to talk about the characters first. Kim Go Eun played the role of Tae Eul and Luna very well and she did not dissapoint. The main ML also did very well seen as it was my first time seeign Lee Min Ho. The actor for Eun Sub/Jeong was amazing and I loved how he played the two roles perfectly and was the only character in the show to make me laugh. I actually quite like the antagonist in this show in which was Lee Rim.

I first had my doubts about this show in episode 5 where Lee Gon kissed Tae Eul and i thought that their romance was way too rushed and it went from A-Z skipping every other letter but Tae Eul does say lets skip every other part so I that could be an excuse lol.

The whole parrallel universe troupe is a hard thing to pull off since the romance was between two people from different worlds and to have a good ending with that they'd have to do something stupid and thats what they did. They basically had Tae Eul remember everything that happened and it allowed them to stay in contact by meeting every weeking going to different eras to meet eachother.

One thing that I noticed is that they had the whole Lee Gon away from Tae Eul and come back with them running to eachother saying they missed each other in which literally happened ither 5 times and got reppetative.

Overall i would not reccomend this drama to someone who is wanting a well paced romance and something that makes sense. However if you can look past that which I did, then you can enjoy that acting by Go Eun and Min Ho, and also enjoy the OST by people like; Zion.T, Hwasa, Wendy, Zico, Gummy and more.

Simply Amazing

"Flower of Evil" is simply one of the best shows I have watched to this date. This sounds very biased but if at the end of the show, if they went thier seperate ways I wouldv'e given this show a 9.5 and not a 10. That's how much I wanted a good ending and thank the heavens I got what I wanted. This drama is literally everything I couldv'e want in a kdrama; I love the whole ML is a "Evil" charcater and he slowly shows himself to someone close to him, also the whole suspense part hits every point it should do in a suspense thriller. This is personally my favourite Suspense Triller show, it even has romace between the two main characters in which just adds to the dynamics of this drama.

When I first saw the drama's synopsis it basically shouted my name since this is my type of kdrama, also it has my favourite female actress as the main female Moon Chae Won in which i was patiently waiting for another drama from her and here I got it.

First off Do Hyun Soo, in which in my opinion is the most complex character in this show. He had a horible past which atributed to his Anti Personality Disorder and also the people around him. I've realised after watching this and another drama similar to this called "Come and Hug Me" in which the ML father is a pyschopath like Hyun Soo's father that both fathers tried to make thier son just like them calling them a piece of art and tried to mold them to however they want. But in both dramas they both get saved by the girl that they love. In Hyun Soo's case it was a bit more complicated than just "Love" but he instinctivly loved Cha Ji Won even if he didn't realise it and even if he said he didn't love her because he believes that he doesn't know the feeling of love so he can't know if he feels it. Halfway through the show when his identity was found out and he had that breakdown that he would have to leave Ji Win, we see him cry for the first time and I had to search online can people with ASPD cry and it seems that they can feel sadness in a way. Due to him have enhanced cognitive abilities, he can read peoples emotions and this is how he never had fights with Ji Won because she would detect if she was feeling anoyed an knew exactly what she wants.

Cha Ji Won was all I couldv'e asked for in a FL, and also she was played by the amazing Moon Chae Won in which I want to watch her future dramas and any work she does. Ji Won as a character was a very straightforward person as she insisted that Hyun Soo liked her and put her feelings out there, but this was a trait I actually like because it meant that they had no misunderstandings. In a way she is very naive and a bit dumb because when she first met him she didn't realise the fact he was a bit wierd and also his past that he described to her. You could say that "Love" blinded her senses and made her just see the man infront of her. Even when she found out that Hee Seong was Hyun Soo she still believed him with what he said which just shows how much she loves him and wants to trust him.

Ji Won and Hyun Soo's child is literally so cute and when we see the 3 of them hug at the end of the show, it made me cry tears of hapiness which I can't remember the last time I felt that.

This might be the first time to where I trully liked the antogonist, not liked in the fact I rooted for him, but liked in the fact he was a good enemy for Hyun Sooand Ji Won. He was very meticulous with himself to the point he was in control of his parents and was quite samrt but his downfall was that he was stuck in 2005 and didn't realise that technology has advanced and got caught on a dash cam. Hyun Soo's father is also a big character in this show even if he wasn't shown much, this was because he had such a big impact in Hyun Soo to the point Hyun Soo would see him even after he died and be kind of controlled for a bit.

The OST in this show was literally so good, I love when dramas have only a few OST and all 3 are so good, they all have different vibes in the fact they all carry different emotions which can carry a scene and just make you sucked into the world.

Overall this show is so good and you should watch it no matter what your tastes are because this drama will give you a new breath of fresh air as I belive thier is not a show like this ( Well besides "Come and Hug Me" in which had similar cases with the pyshopath father and the son who isn't "normal" but get saved by people they love). If there really is a show like this please tell me and I would love to watch it.

I really can't get over how good this drama was. The story and the OST were both amazing but was amazed me the most was the characters, they chose just the right actors and they portrayed the characters amazingly well that I can't think of any other actors who would have this same chemistry that the 3 leads had.

The story was very intresting because it's not your everyday kdrama story, all 3 leads are hurting inside due to past trauma. The characters really stand out in this show. I loved how they added a flair of horror and thriller into the story with certain aspects like the whole person humming in the hospital and also Mun Yeongs mum being introduced and let me say this, I have never been so shocked in my life for a reveal like that becasue you would not expect it to be the head nurse who looked really kind and also looked nothing like the mom we see in the flashback scenes.

First of with Gang Tae, I really enjoyed his character becasue on the outside he was a was character but on the inside he was hurting a lot. For 20 years Gang Tae had to look after his autistic brother by moving from place to place and changing workplace just so they can live a decent life. When Gang Tae was a child I felt sorry for him because he got neglected as a child because his mom having to look after Sang Tae. When he finally starts to open up and take off his mask after meeting Mun Yeong, you could say that the time that was paused for him has finally resumed and he can start to emjoy his life again. This is also my second drama seeing Kim Soo Hyun act since 'My love froma star' which was my second ever drama so yeah its been a long time and I really loved seeing him in a drama again.

Mun Yeong was such an amazing character, she was so complex yet so simple at the same time. We first see her as a cold hearted person who doesn't know how to love and is wanting love from someone because she's been alone for her whole life since 20 years ago. We start to see glimses of how shes really living in episode 4 when she has a nightmare and Gang Tae found her and hugged her to clam her down and this event really showed us and Gang Tae how much Mun Yeong is suffering and how much help she needs. When she was a child, she got the exact opposite to Gang Tae and recieved too much love to the point you could call it obssesive love from her mother as she was shaping Mun Yeong to her liking. When she met Gang Tae as a child we could see the realy Mun Yeong as a child but then when we thought it was okay, her mom stopped her from metting him so she couldn't change. Something I loved about Mun Yeong was how much she accepted Sang Tae who had autism and became his bestfriend. I know that it's hard to handle someone with a autism like Sang Tae and could emphasise on both ends. I saw Seo Ye Ji in 'Lawless Lawyer' and I didn't know she had this side to her so I will definetly watch more of her dramas for sure.

Both Mun Yeong and Gang Tae had amazing chemistry as they were opposites and they went hand in hand since they brought out the hidden side of eachother. Thier romance was really heartwarming to watch because they had to face many obstacles and they jumped them all and at the end of the finish line there was a happy ending.

Now with Sang Tae's characters, he made this drama seem that much more real. He was such a pleasure to watch and had such amazing character development. He went from saying he owns Gang Tae and noone can have him to saying that Gang Tae belongs to Gang Tae which it was probably really hard for him to accept that reality but after seeing his brothers smiling face when he was asleep he realised this it was his real happy face looked like and he couldn't help but admire it. This scene really made me tear up becasue this was the scene that made Sang Tae realise how beautiful his brothers realy smiling face looks like. When we first see Sang Tae, we see him as a persone who wasn't independent and needed people to help him but near the end when he got over his fear of butterflies her gained his independence and ever left his family to go work on illistrations which showed us how much he grew up.

These 3 leads were amazing to watch as the trio had such amazing chemistry and I cant think of another trio in a Kdrama that are better than these 3. I will really miss watching this drama and I will for sure rewatch it in the future to relive the joy I got from watching it.

The OST was very good as we got OSTs from Heize which is always amazing to see and also the OST 'In Silence' and 'Im Your Pyscho' By Jannet Suhh were amazing, she really pulled it out of the bag in this drama.

If your looking for a warmhearted healing melodrama with amazing acting and an amazing cast then i reccomend this drama becasue it will really make you lose ypur thoughts on the real world and focus entirely on the Drama becasue it will really make you forget your thoughts on the real world and focus entirely on the Drama's world.

After finding out that the writer of Stranger and also the Male Lead in Stranger were going to be in this drama, plus the addition to Lee Dong Wook who I know is a very good actor. I knew I was into a very good drama just from all those factors alone. When starting the show I thought it was just going to be about Jin Woo fighting against injustice ( Which you could say it was ), but infact this story was about many things; the power struggle between the doctors and Hwajeong, the relationships between the characters and also the mental health of others.

This wasn't my first drama for alot of the actors in this drama so I knew what to expect with the actors and also the writing since it's made by a trustworthy writer. Every character in this show had a play in the story no matter how big it was.

With the Main character in my eyes, Jin Woo. He basically represents the set of people who are not in a high position and who are also vunerable to people high on the ladder and shows us what to do. I really liked his character in this story because he wasn't overly cocky nor too much of a push over. His relationships throughout the show were fun to watch and I liked to see how they developed throughout the drama. His relationship with his brother was truly beautiful in my opinion it's how all relationships with brothers should be. The last scene between the brothers honestly nearly made me cry because how touching it was because Seon Woo really like the ocean so to just see them having fun was nice to see. Jin Woo romance in this was also cute to watch although it's not the main focus, it gave both us and Jin Woo a breather from all the politics happening in the hospital, I really like the actor who play Seo Hyun which was Jin Woo's love intrest and I've seen her in only one past drama so I will definatly watch more of her stuff. Also the imaginary Seon Woo which Jin Woo made in his head was also quite sad to see because even though it's Seon Woo on the outside, everything he said was just what Jin Woo was thinking even if he didn't say it outloud or in his head, Seon Woo basically told him. I also like how he confided in Seo Hyun about the Seon Woo in his head and she accepted it and asked to meet him so that probably removed a huge weight of his chest.

Now with the second Main character with was Goo Seung Hyo, I actually really liked his character, one reason was because I got to see a didfferent side of teh actor who played Hwang Si Mok in Stranger who was a pretty 2D charater due to him not feeling emotions. Seung Hyo was basically the proxy antogonist in this show, I say proxy because he begins to changed ever soo slightly due to the introduction of Lee No Eul in which was the first person he became intrested in. He acted all tough all tough and acted like nothing affected him but on the inside he is actually soft and care about things and that's what No Eul saw in him and that's why she started to like him. I'll admit at first I wasn't a fan of thier ship because I felt bad for Seon Woo but as time went on I started to like the ship ( Only took me 16 episodes to realise that and I wished I liked it from the start).

The OST in the show was quite standard as nothing particually stood out to me but I did enjoy it as it added to the scenes.

Overall I really enjoyed this drama as it was a nice switch up from the Romace Drama which I allways watch as Romance is my favourite genre. This show and Stranger made me appreciate non-romance center based plots and I will definetly watch more of shows like these where they focus more on the world building rather than the Relationship between the two leads.

If I had to say something straightway after finishing this drama, I would say I regret watching it so quickly. I wish I took my time slowly and digested the show slowly. This might be the first show I’ve watched to where I cried at the end in happiness and also sadness at the same time because I won’t be able to watch this drama anymore. I want to say I wish it had more episodes but that’s just my selfish greed, this show having 12 episode were just perfect in my opinion. From the end of episode 2 when Ji Soo died, from that moment on I knew I had to write a review for this show when I finish it.

First off I want to talk about the overall genre and message the show conveys. It’s basically a show of healing and development by meeting new people and forming new bonds. The relationship between Ha Won and Seo Woo was so therapeutic to watch as they grew closer together gradually and didn’t rush anything, also their chemistry were just perfect. This drama only had a few characters so there were a lot of scenes for Ha Won and Seo Woo and that worked in the shows favour as it doesn’t delve into pointless story arcs and just focuses on its main characters.

With Ha Won Jung Hae In never disappoints, I’ve watched many of his dramas and I honestly love all his roles at this point. Ha Won as a character was very pitiful at first since he was in pain a lot and didn’t in particularly have anyone there for him since Ji Soo didn’t reciprocate his feelings back and also wouldn’t talk to him due to her guilt. When Ha Won meets Seo Woo his whole world changed you could say, his slow developing relationship with her saved him and healed his wounds per say. Ha Won as a character, we didn’t really see him cry that much, I probably cried more than him watching the drama. When Ji Soo died he didn’t even have a massive cry until a lot later down the line in which just shows that as a person he likes to suppress himself and act strong.

Chae Soo Bin did just perfect with Seo Woo, I really like the way they portrayed her throughout the show. She was the opposite of Ha Won in the fact that she is so open about her feelings and tells them straight out. There was honestly not a time to where I didn’t not like a decision she made in the show. Just like Ha Won, she was hurting from her past trauma because of the fire that killed her parents. She was able to confront that trauma because she knew that she had someone besides her which was Ha Won and they both relied on each other a lot through out the show.

The thing I liked the best about this show was honestly the relationship between Ha Won and Seo Woo. The way they slowly began to like each other and became each other’s bandage was amazing to watch. Out of all the melodramas I have watched I liked this couple the best when it comes to the theme of healing and self worth. You could see how much they loved each other just from how affectionate they were, they didn’t need to kiss all the time like in some other dramas. In this one all they needed was to be in each other’s presence and support each other when they needed it.

The device that Ha Won made actually has quite a lot of meaning to it once you realise what the response feature it. The way to get it to have a response feature was to say the thing in which saved that person from their rock bottom. With Ha Won, it was thunder because every time it would be thunder and lightning his mum would play the piano to calm him down and that’s what saved him. For Ji Soo it was the fact of a one sided love, In Wook’s one sided love saved her. With Seo Woo it was Mr.Dawn which was Ha Woo, they first met without knowing that Ha Woo was Ha Woo. She simply knew him as Mr.Dawn and his presence saved him and once Mr.Dawn become Ha Won, they’re relationship started there.

The OST in this drama was pretty standard like nothing stood out but they were good enough to create an atmosphere in scenes enough to make me cry. Honestly when Ji Soo died, it broke my heart because I honestly supported Ji Soo and Ha Won but it was the wrong choice after seeing the whole story and knowing who’s best for who.

If you looking for a drama about healing and character development this show is for you. I’m saying this right now but I will 100% rewatch this show one day because I simply found it a pleasure to watch and I want to see more scenes between Ha Won and Seo Woo so I will deeply miss this drama.

Normally I'm scared to dive into dramas that are longer than 20 episodes because so many things can change throughout the show in terms of relationships because believe It or not I like stability in shows I watch but I know I can't have that in kdramas. But this show has truly proven me wrong and prevailed. This drama is a story about the life of Hong Gil Dong from when he was a child to when he turned into an adult and it shows the people around him. I truly loved the cast and there were so many characters in this show and I only truly didn't like 1 character to be honest and that was Nok Su.

I'll be honest I came to this show for a breath of fresh air and Chae Soo Bin but I did not know I would end up falling in love with Yoon Kyung Sang (Hong Gil Dongs actor)

The amount of character development we see Gil Dong go through is amazing. We see him in his adolescent years to where is a clueless boy of the world and wants to become a trader who travels Joseon. Then we see him when he has grown up to see that he has achieved his dream of traveling around Joseon as a peddler, but here he is still immature and doesn't know about the world. He falls in love with Nok Su but ends up getting left by her but to his surprise, Ga Ryeong waited for him to return, and there on he falls in love with Ga Ryeong to end up marrying. When he finally starts getting involved with world politics he starts to see people for what they really are. After his father, A-Mo-Gae died everyone didn't know what to do and who to follow but they all ended up following Gil Dong after realising his strength and his growth. We see Gil Dong be at the highest of highs to be thrown to the lowest of lows to the point he is below the lowest he could be but he fights through all that to prevail and show prowess as a leader to the people of Joseon and showed that even if you're born as the son of a slave you can still rise up. When he gives his big speech when he is fighting Mo Ri, he even gains the hearts of nobles which just shows how much influence he has over people. At times I wished he had a backbone but after finishing the show I realised when he didn't fight back it was only more gratifying to see him win battles due to his character development.

Chae Soo Bin played Ga Ryeon flawlessly in my opinion, I truly do love her as an actress. She played a character in which at first just follows Gil Dong but she eventually gains the strength to fight for Gil Dong thinking he was dead and even dared to harm the king. She wasn't just simply that damsel in distress character you would expect her to be but she actually had her own time to shine. When she was tied to a pole and said to Gil Dong if he quits just for her, she will hate him forever and even took an arrow to the chest in which she didn't die from because she fought against it.

The romance between Gil Dong and Ga Ryeong was just perfect, It literally took them 16 episodes to get together and that is the length of a normal kdrama which just shows how much development they both must've gone through to get to that point. Their romance was slow but satisfying, When they married it was just so adorable that Ga Ryeong married the man that she has loved ever since they first met which was around 5-10 years prior to them getting married.

There is always an MVP character for me which cant be out of the two main leads and that was Mo-Ri for me. He was a character in which Gil Dong had to face time and time again due to his persistence and even though he was an enemy you can't help but just enjoy his character. When he finally gains his strength back from which it seems she got it back after thinking about Ga Ryeong in which it was weird that he liked her but in the end, it served as a plotline for him. His and Gil Dong's relationship was weird as they both let each other live multiple times and they even like the same girl. The only thing which was weird is that they don't explain why he had the strength of a mighty child-like Gil Dong in which was connected to that shaman, but I guess it added to the rivalry between the two.

There were many characters throughout the drama which I genuinely enjoyed watching on screen; they range from Gil Hyeon and Eo Ri Ni who were Gil Dong's siblings and I loved both of their character arcs, the whole Hong family crew were just amazing to watch as they supported Gil Dong beside him throughout the show even after A-Mo-Gae died in which just shows their loyalty. Even the King's character was fun to watch as he was actually a good king at first but his hatred for those who belittled his mother made him do evil acts and his mind deteriorated while fighting Gil Dong.

The OST in this drama was just simply amazing. The OST 'If Spring Comes' was one of the best ones, whenever this song came on your knew nothing bad was going to happen and you could simply enjoy the song and the scene it accompanied. Then the OST 'Spring of Ikhwari' was like the song in which rallied everyone in this song and was just a feel-good song. The song 'Call it Love' in which I didn't know it was sung by Chae Soo Bin was just amazing as well as it came on whenever Gil Dong and Soo Bin were having their moments together.

I am honestly so glad we got a good ending for 'Rebel: Thief Who Stole the People' The scenes that they showed at the start to where Gil Dong shot Ga Ryeong gave us the idea that she died but she actually lived and they ended up having two children. I'll admit I was having a hard time finding a good drama to watch recently as I dropped like 3+ shows in a row so I came to a historical show and it just gave me the reason why I watch kdramas.

Overall this show is just amazing and inspiring to watch. Gil Dong goes from being an immature child to a leader who is revered by the people of Joseon. If you're looking for a drama in which has an inspiring main lead who goes through many obstacles, If you want a drama with an amazing cast and also want a bit of romance then I recommend this in a heartbeat, and don't be disheartened by the length of 30 episodes as it will not disappoint you.

It wouldv'e been a diservice if I didn't write a review for this amazing Drama. 'Mr Sunshine' is a literal one of a kind drama in which I dont think we will see a drama like this one for a long time. I'm from england so I couldn't fully sympathize with hoe bad Koreans were treated because the drama shines light on historical events, but even I got annoyed at the Japanese soldiers for the tyranny they spread throughout Joseon.

This show did something ambitious and it was to make it multi-lingual to where they have multiple languages present in the show, they were; Korean, Japanese, English and French. I can only imagine how hard it was to get a cast for this show because they needed to be multilingual. Eugene's role especially because he spoke Korean, Japanese and English fluently in this show. Also, even though I disliked the Japanese characters I have to admit their acting was very good and just made the show better.

Within this show there was a clear 5 main characters and I loved each and every one of them. I loved the dynamics between Eugene, Dong Mae and Hui Sung. They all had the same women in thier heart but they just couldn't hate eachother in which Is why I loves the relationship they had. Normally in dramas thier are obnoxious characters who fight for love but neither Dong Mae and Hui Sung were bad, Dong Mae especially.

Eugene is a very complex character because he fled to America from Joseon and then comes back with America. It's quite sad for him because Koreans call him American while Americans call him Joseon so he got forced into a middle ground. Throughout the show he insisted that his motherland was America and acted on that belief throughout the whole show saying that. He even wouldn't ditch America for his love Ae Sin which shows how loyal he is to America. His relationship with Ae Sin was complicated in the fact that she was from an Aristrocrat family which means she's high up in terms of status so just the emotion of loving her was dangerous for him. You could say he got swayed by her but not fully. Even though Joseon ditched him, he still helped Joseon in some ways and I think purely that some of his actions were done for Ae Sin so she could survive. I knew that he wasn't going to live to the end of the show, it was foreshadowed alot to us with the whole 'Sad Ending' saying. So when he finally used his last bullet to save Ae Sin I coulnd't help but support his actions as it was for her safety.

Ae Sin is a very interesting character because since birth she was very interested in foreign affairs to the point she became a gunner to fight for Joseon to get thier independence back. She was also in a sticky position loving Eugene because she was engaged and also her family didn't think nicely of her having an American lover. It was my first drama that I watched from Kim Tae Ri and I was positevly suprised and I will watch out for more of her works. Her relationship with Eugene was so fun to watch because she was able to cool down and be happy when she was with him and one thing I loved was her smile and her laugh, they were just so adorable. When she said 'Mister Sunshine' that was also a powerful scene because she's basically saying that Eugene was her light and someone that lit her up. I loved how she wasn't just some weak character but she was strong and relied on herself to the point where it made Eugene look smaller than her but when Eugene stood up to the plate and sacrificed his life for her, that was the biggest act of love anyone can give to someone.

With both Eugene and Ae Sin, their relationship was amazing to watch as they had great chemisry, they wasn't the kind of couple in which kissed and showed their affection that way, all they wanted was to be with eachother and the way their relationship grew into something big was very fun to watch.

Now in my opinion, the dark horse character in this was Gu Dong Mae, I loved everysing part of his character. He portrayed a samurai amazinly and everytime he was on the screen it wasn't boring to watch. The way he was ruthless to everyone and didn't hesitate was a personality trait which defies him because of his harsh past. His relationship with Eugene was a wierd one because they both loved Ae Sin but they couldn't hate eachother as they grew fond of eachother. With Ae Sin, he was just fine seeing her and that was all it took to satify his love for her, with the whole debt thing in which Ae Sin met him every month on the 15th, that was just to see her. Personally he was my favourite character in the show and it was painful to see how pitiful he was as he faced death doors multiple times and couldn't get his love recipricated.

With Hui Sung, he was an MVP in this show as he was the one in which recorded all the events in history for people in the future to recognise the efforts and pain that Joseon went through. The sacrifices he made for Ae Sin and Eugene were very thoughtful and I truly believe that he is sincerly sorry to Eugene about what happened to his parents.

Hina was also a very good character due to how she did things and also her indescreet love for Dong Mae in which she probably realised too late before she died. I liked how independent she was and she could fend her own.

The relationship of Eugen, Dong Mae and Hui Song was very sad because Hina kept saying which out of the three would face sorrow but in the end they all died but in my opinion they did not feel sorrow because they all died for the cause of Ae Sin being alive and well and thats just what they wanted.

Even though the show does not have a 'Happy' ending per say, since the events on this drama are portraying what happened in the 1900s between Japan and Korea we know that eventually Joseon get thier indepence and become the Republic of Korea so Ae Sin acheived her goal of protecting Joseon even though we didn't see it we know it happens and we saw the hope at the very end of the show with her standing tall next to a Korean flag.

The OST in this show was very good as it created the mood and atmosphere for the show. Noticeable OST were from Sejeong, Ben and Kim Yuna which were all honestly amazing now that I'm listening to an OST right now and it makes me quite sad that I can't watch this anymore.

Overally if your looking for a very different kind of drama in which shows politics and love at the forefront then watch this show. This show also opes your eyes to some of the things that Korea had to endure against Japan.

Second Lead Syndrome Caught Me in 'Doctor Stranger'

There are many things I want to say about this drama. First off the whole cencept is very ambitious since it's doing a story including North Korea and how there were many times the main 2 leads couldv'e died. Also this is the first Drama and will probably be for a while in which I actually fell into the whole sencond lead syndrome, I generally supported Quack and Park Hoon for the forst half of the show and I really enjoyed thier interactions together.

This story has many coincedences between Park Hoon and Jae Hee in which they call fate but to be honest, in terms of this story I have to believe they were fated to be together, the amount of shit they had to go through to get to the happy ending was alot. Some people are saying it wouldv'e been better if Park Hoon and Jae Hee died and everyone accepted it, but since I'm such a sucker to good endings I was actually hoping thier was a good ending in which they both lived and they happily live thier lives together and that is what we got.

With Park Hoon, he really had a tough life and like Joon Jae said at the end of the show. Behind Park Hoon's happy exterior, he is going through a lot of pain and stress. During his time in North Korea after spliting up with Jae Hee, he had to work as a doctor in which sacrifices lives in order to increase his medical experience and knowledge, so he was unwillingly killing heathy people to grow. Throughout his time in South Korea I really enjoyed his character and when I thought he was going to give up and lay down, he comes back up and makes his comeback. This show had a severe case of second lead syndrome to the point I wanted it to happen, but this came with the fact that Jae Hee wasn't fully likable when she first came to South Korea. Park Hoon's relationship with Soo Hyeon (Quack) was a breath of fresh air from the tense and stressful relationship between Jae Hee and Park Hoon. Quack was very light hearted and her backstory just made me support her even more to teh point even Jae Hee tried to set them up at the end and would leave after everything is done. Soo Hyeon was what this drama and Park Hoon needed and even though they didn't work out, I was fine.

Jae Hee's character is very complex because she is originally from North Korea and falls in love with a South Korean, and also her family had very different political beliefs than what a North Korean should have so that got her put in a detention center. Near the end of the show when she was trying to push Hoon away, she said that she regrets holding onto Cha Jin Soo's hand to meet Hoon because she didn't know how much dnager it would put him in but her 'greed' which was longing to see Hoon was large. Her relationship with Hoon was actually nice to watch because it felt rewarding after seeing how much they went through for the whole show so when they first reconnected as Hoon and Jae Hee I was really happy that happened but felt a bit sorry for Soo Hyeon. Overall I liked her character but there were times where I found her infuriating when she tried to push Hoon away saying she was take all the pain basically just so Hoon and his mother would be fine, but now that I think of it, it's actually very mature of her and mustv'e took alot out of her.

I actually like the OST in this show, especially the one called 'Stranger' by Bobby Kim, that OST just shouts at me for being a good OST and everythime it came on I loved the song becausee the lyrics fit the theme of the show very well saying 'If your not here, I'm just a Stranger' Meaning that if Jae Hee isn't with Hoon, then he will feel like he doesn't belong anywhere and it's quite sad honestly.

If your loking for a drama in which is Star Crossed love typed romance with a heavy mix of medical and also a Second Lead Syndrome you can actually support then watch Doctor Stranger.

Give the drama time

I can't lie, I did not like this drama ar first. The main female lead was so annoying I couldn't even fathom it, she was pushy and loud to the point it was just boring to watch. But around ep5 after the backstory episode, Chae Ro Woon did a 180 and she started to become likable.

The whole revenge story didn't really go anywhere as it got changed but i'm glad they didn't venture into that any further because Ro Woon wouldv'e became more unlikable. The whole storyline about her sister was quite interesting though, with the fact they made us think that she like U-il but he like Hwang Gi but in the back of my mind I allready guessed it to be fully honest.

With the male lead Hwang Gi, I really enjoyed his character because I can relate to him so much because I have a hard time communicating with people aswell so it was so intresting seeing it at a 3rd person sperpective and I learned it can create misunderstandings and can be annoying to some people. Hwang Gi is probably one of the most thoughtful male leads i've watched as he watched over Ro Woon for 3 years and also let her take her revenge and let it be. When He starts to change due to Ro Woon it actually made me very happy because he was able to speak his mind because when he's by himself he's very lively like me so I understand him so much so when he did that presentation or talk to his Silent Monster team it was so fun to watch. Watching Hwang Gi's character actually inspired me and I want to be like him someday to where I can express myseld freely.

Now with the female lead Chae Ro Woon, I detested her character at first. She was loud, obnoxious, pushy and had every bad trait a female lead could have. In episode 4 when Hwang Gi did his presentation, she realised that theres more to him than meets the eye and when she finds out more about him, she starts to mellow down but we all know this is because they changed the scripts because she was so annoying so I cant imagine how the story wouldv'e been if they didn't change it. One thing I liked about her new character is that she was really understanding of Hwang Gu's problem and helped him in the end, she even went as far as to forgiving him for her sisters death after realising how much he has done for her in the last year to make sure she wasn't lonely.

The main romance was actually quite fun to watch, the two had amazing chemistry, whenever they were in scenes together, they didn't have a bording scene after episode 4. Out of all the dramas i've watched these two would have to be in the top twenty couple becasue I loved the dynamic they were in, the male was introverted while the female was highly extroverted so they balanced eachother out really well.

With the secondary leads, they were your standard secondary leads to be honest. With U-il I really didn't like him at first due to his stupid decisions and his way of putting down Hwang Gi who was trying to change. But he did start to become likable near the end of the show due to telling people teh truth. With Yi So, I just felt really sorry for her, she was a victim aswell since she got betrayed. When she told Ro Woon's sister to disapear we all know she didn't mean that literally and she was just flustered. She was actually having a really hard time to where she felt suicidle and even resorted to self-harm. I actually like her character and I like her brother-sister bond with Hwang Gi.

The Silent Monster team was such a good cast as they made the show lighthearted but it was sometimes annoying when they misunderstood Hwang Gi. They were all diverse and had thier own personalities which was fun to watch,

There were 2 OSTs that were consistant and they were fun to listen to, there's not much to say about them to be honest.

Overall if you can get over the 4 episode slump at the start then I really reccomend you to watch this show because once you get over that hurdle. The two main leads are really enjoyable to watch as they have great chemistry.

I can only regret not apreciating this show earlier. When watching the last episode I cried for all the emotional scenes and it really made me realise how much I cared for the characters, especially Oh Yang Cheol and Yeom Sang Soo. I put this drama off for a week before watching it on a wim and i'll admit, I was going to drop it around episode 8 I think it was when Choi Myeong Oh kissed the main female lead and that scene really annoyed me as they emphasised it alot and made it seem really important.

This drama is not your normal crime drama to where there is a main antogonist in which your playing cat and mouse with until when you catch him in the end, it's not a drama where the leads have super intellegence or they able to see scents or see the past from touching objects. Instead its a drama in which is very realistic and stays grounded throughout the whole show showing how a normal person would react and act in certain situations. They give us 4 very different leads who have different ways of thinking but at the end of the day they are all policemen and they all have one goal. 'Live' touches subject of crime quite heavely and almost had me drop it again after the whole serial r*pe case. That case was especially hard to watch as they were only highshool and middleschool girls who can't do anything in them situations and made me realise there are things like that happening aroudn the world without our knowledge and it really makes you self reflect.

With the characters, they were all very raw and real which i quite enjoyed for once.

The main male Yeom Sang Soo is a person who build a strong sense of duty by the end of the show and shows us how a real cop should act compared to all the corrupt ones that are out there. At the start of the show he was the only charcater I like as he didn't piss me off and acted how I wouldv'e in certain situations. I allready saw him as secondary leads in other dramas so it was very cool to see him as the main and have his spotlight which he deserves since he is a great actor.

With the female lead Han Jeong Oh, I can't lie I really hated her character at the start and her personality really urked me because she was snobby and so nonchalantly blunt with Sang Soo's feelings. When we start to hear more about her past it really made me self reflect because I judge her whole character just based on a few annoying scenes and never considered her backstory which I will now do that. When she was working with the patrol division, she was the most realistic as I truly feel that an actual person would act like her. This was my first drama for this actor and I can't say i'm going to actively look for her other dramas but if I see another one which is promising I'll watch it.

Now with my favourite character in this show Oh Yang Cheol. He easily couldv'e had the show center around him becasue the events he went through and the character development he went through was amazing to watch. We see his relationship with his wife and people around him of how they improve through out the show. The relationship between him and his wife was in my opinion a lot more tasteful to watch than the leads, they go through a divorce and get back together through a number of trials within and outthe family which brings them closer. Also the relationship between Sang Soo and Yang Cheol was great to watch as they went from hating eachother to deeply respecting eachother whihc was heartwarming to see in the last episode.

The OST was quite good in this, the OST 'Someone like you' was done by EXO aswell and another one called 'Why Why Why' by Punch. Overall the OST was very solid and I would listen to them by themselves.

Overall if your looking for a crime drama with very real characters with no abilty which makes them an ace then watch this drama. Personally I would not rewatch this drama just due to the fact of the whole serial r*pe case which made it very hard for me to watch even if it's fiction.
