Cool Doji Danshi: A Surprisingly Hilarious and Heartwarming Live Animation!
As someone who has read the manga and watched the anime, I initially didn't have too many expectations for the live animation adaptation of "Cool Doji Danshi". However, after watching the first four episodes, I can say that I was pleasantly surprised by how funny and heartwarming it is! The show's humor is not the typical slapstick comedy, but rather it's more subtle and relatable, showcasing the daily clumsy incidents we all experience and trying to look cool while doing so.What sets "Cool Doji Danshi" apart from other dramas is its talented cast of four main characters played by Yuta Nakamoto, Dori Sakurada, Takumi Kawanishi, and Maito Fujioka. Yuta, known for his cool and charismatic persona on stage as a singer, and an actor in High and Low the Worst x Cross, showcases a completely different side as the clumsy yet endearing Hayate. Meanwhile, Sakurada Dori, who has previously played various roles, brings a mature and calming presence to the show.
The drama's 30-minute runtime is the perfect length for a quick and easy watch, and it airs after midnight, which makes it the perfect late-night viewing. Watching "Cool Doji Danshi" is a truly healing experience, with its lighthearted and warm moments, making it a great way to unwind after a long week. I was having a good laugh in every episode. And the director has smartly added a 'beautiful boys' scene as fans service at the beginning of each episode; which becomes something expected. Overall, "Cool Doji Danshi" is a beautifully crafted show that's worth watching for its humor, heart, and talented cast.
