A BL Where It's Obvious It Was Filmed With Only Half of the Script Complete
To start off, the pilot trailer did not interest me AT ALL last year and the official trailer interested me even less. I only watched the first episode because 1) I was missing watching Be My Favorite on Fridays and 2) ViewJune had become an official GL pair in the time between the pilot and the first episode that I was interested in if they would have a GL romance in the show (spoiler: They do not until the last episode as it's a student-teacher relationship). I dropped it after the first episode and re-picked it up halfway through the show. About half of the show is montages!!! It annoyed the hell out of me that Sailom's confession was intercut with montages of KangSai, considering we had only 4-5 episodes of their interactions anyway up to that point!! The show even resorted to showing us flashbacks of stuff that the audience had JUST SEEN. The constant montages and flashbacks made the first half of the show feel very empty. However, the second half of the show does pick up with shining performances from the side couples GuyNawa and SaifahName. I would do anything for a mini-series following Saifah and Name which were the real dangerous romance of this show. The last thing that truly saved this show for me was Perth and Chimon's performance, they truly are Actors.Questa recensione ti è stata utile?

An Office Romance like many others, but still worth the watch!
Though A Boss and a Babe doesn’t really do anything innovative in terms of office romances, the stand out factor really was ForceBook’s chemistry, as well as Book’s commitment to really bringing Cher to life. I went into this not expecting much at all, but this quickly became a comfort show for me and I can see why ForceBook were given another chance after Enchante. I would recommend this to anyone who is missing GAP the series or wants a low-stakes feel good series. I’m excited to see what comes nextQuesta recensione ti è stata utile?

The only "BL" that would have benefited from 18 episodes
I'm a lover of messy characters and messy storylines so this was truly the best series for me to watch. What I liked
- the acting, like wow this cast gave it their all and I couldn't imagine any other actors playing these couples/characters
- the music, AMAZING ost by khaotung and jojo series always have good music
- the writing of ray's character and nick's character, I loved how much growth ray went through in these episodes and I love a desperate loser character like Nick who isn't naive but also a lil messed up
What I didn't like
- the pacing, Boeing's character came in WAYYYYY too late to have to really make a punch with the amount of damage he could have done, if this were 18 episodes, Boeing coming in at ep 10 would have made more sense
- production, this is personal preference and a little bit meta so I won't get too into it but yeah, stop cutting scenes based on fan's perception
- the flatness of Top's character, I feel like with how dynamic Mew is he deserved a partner that also had some depth to him but we know as much about Top as we do Cheum
Overall, I really loved this series and I hope we get a season 2

Kidnap Set Up a Story It Did Not Want to Deliver – An Injustice to its Audience
When you are going to center your show around characters who lead dangerous lives, the expectation is to show the audience your characters leading dangerous lives, up the stakes and make your viewers really worry about the fate of said characters. This should be a really simple thing to do as a screenwriter, and yet, Kidnap the Series failed epically. Min is supposed to be a stuntman turned hitman turned bodyguard and we saw him doing that for a total of 20 minutes over the span of 12 hours. Q is a character whose father essentially threw away his own son's ransom note. The show had a really interesting premise of Min kidnapping Q and them struggling to find love for each other based on the situation and their backgrounds, but threw it all away the second they made Min an incompetent hitman. The creators said "Why give a well written drama about bad fathers and complicated romance when I can give 3 beach episodes in a row?" I don't care about MinQ honeymoon because they essentially gave us a relationship of half baked romcom tropes when we could have had something way more!! So many words to say, this show was boring as hell, I wasted 12 weeks of my life (I should have quit by EP 5), and the only saving grace was Ohm Pawat's phenomenal acting.Questa recensione ti è stata utile?

Started with a bang, ended with a fizzle
Expanded review title: Started with a bang, ended with a bang that fizzled out so fast that maybe I imagined that gunshot? When I started Wednesday Club, I was telling my friends that it was like P.S. I Hate You and Not Me had a love child. The elements of PSIHY with the toxic messy friend group and the beginning of the show starting with a death (or threat of a death). The elements of Not Me with political intrigue and borderline gang activity. It was what Only Friends was supposed to be! And for most of the show, that's what Wednesday Club delivered! But once again, I fell victim to the fast paced = good story myth. It was a good story, just kinda fell flat at the end.
What I liked
- May and Peem's friendship, genuinely so refreshing and their plotline with Mink/Karn had me rooting for MayPeem every step of the way
- Kun's storyline, heartbreaking really, he was such a complexly written character and the buildup to him holding the gun in the end had great payoff
What I disliked
- Kong/Palli/Tam love triangle, we wasted soooo much time on Kong and Palli liking Tam when it was pretty much resolved immediately AND it didn't even get called back to later on in the series/in the finale. Like Palli and Kong moved on and Tam was pretty much relegated to support character
- Ranking of the characters in the credits, this is me being petty but no way in HELL should Piploy be the last in the credits, May had the most character development of the entire ensemble
- The finale, specifically part 4, I just hate endings where two characters basically have a rundown conversation of everyone's endings, BORING!
- Nani's acting.......my dude.......where are the acting workshops???

A Touching Story About Family and Taking Every Chance to Leave Your Comfort Zone
From the moment I saw the official trailer, I knew this series was quickly gonna become a favorite for me. Some stand out aspects were how the plot and writing could hold on its own without making romance the focus. I liked how Kawi making sure he spent enough time with his dad before it was too late held just as much weight (if not more at times) as him trying to form a relationship with Pear. I liked how Pisaeng had his own sexuality journey and Pear had her own journey with confronting her mother. The time travel mechanics were also very cleanly explained and that's really hard to do if time travel isn't the main trope of the media. Krist, Gawin, and Aye really blew me away with their acting at times and they really embodied their characters on screen. The music and OST were 10/10 for me, REDO is insanely catchy and the many different instrumentals were spot on for each situation. The only downsides were the writing getting a little muddy after Kawi decided to pursue Pisaeng in the college timeline. Those episodes (8-10) felt a little slow in my opinion. All in all, this is maybe one of the top GMMTV BLs of this year.Questa recensione ti è stata utile?

It's 2024, Disability Is Not A Sad Ending
It took me a while to want to revisit this show and how badly the ending fumbled the legacy of the show in my eyes, but I wanted to update my profile so here we are. Anyway. It's been 3 weeks since the finale and I'm sure everything that needed to be said has already been said. As the title shows, I'm on the side of very bad ending. I was seated for every single episode of this show, it had amazing acting from JimmySea and MarkNamtan, the cinematography was breathtaking, the literary parallels were beautiful, the osts were magical. This show had everything to make up a good show and for the first 10 episodes it was! The character development was character development-ing, the plot was plotting, and the messages were giving! But they had to ruin it by making MhokDay break up and immediately time jumping with no resolution to their fight and then giving Day his eyesight back. I'll start with the breakup: I understand that MhokDay were heavy codependent and needed to break up and mature away from each other, I get that. But that only works if the blindness was a permanent thing, which SURPRISE TO LITERALLY EVERYONE IT WASN'T???? I don't know, I'm so tired I don't wanna get into it about how disability isn't a curse of misery and disabled people deserved to be happy and we are all too old to be making stories that use disability as a plot device rather than having it be something that fleshes out a character and informs their decisions and isn't viewed with pity idk. I'm sure this review makes no sense so long story short, loved the show, ending soured my love for it, if anyone wants to watch it, just stop at episode 9 or 10.Questa recensione ti è stata utile?
Made me nostalgic of an era I didn't even live through
This movie had beautiful Y2K aesthetics and amazing acting from the main cast. The dialogue was laugh out loud funny at times and Film is a stand out actress for her emotional scenes in this. Quite literally the only thing that stopped me from fully enjoying it was how badly the boys got on my nerves. If anything, it's a testament how amazing the actors are. Should this have taken 3 years to film? No. Should it have been 2+ hours long? Also no. I don't have an ending to this review..............Questa recensione ti è stata utile?
Silly way to see my favs again
These plots are cheesy TO YOU. Not me though, I understand. Our Skyy 2 is a brain off affair that lets us see our favorite ships one last time in a silly setting. Coming at this with the expectation of it being a continuation of the main story will only set you up for disappointment. With some of the pairs you can see that it was made in a rush (cough cough The Eclipse) but it’s still a fun time. If I had to rank them based on enjoyability and adherence to the source material, it would be:1. Vice Versa
2. A Boss and a Babe
3. Never Let Me Go
4. Bad Buddy x 1000 Stars
5. My School President
6. The Eclipse
(Not Applicable: Star in my Mind, I didn’t watch it)

How do you flop a romcom motif?
I’m just baffled at how you reference so many romcoms (ie, have posters that reference iconic romcom posters, have episode titles that are iconic romcom tropes) and STILL create such a mid series. OffGun’s chemistry is fine enough but KhaiThird? Absolutely not!! How do you create a romcom where you are yelling at the screen every chance you get foe the main characters NOT to end up together? I sometimes felt I was in the wrong for judging Khai so harshly when we are viewing the series from Third’s POV. But then he would do something on screen that is terrible regardless the POV! Anyway, cool concept, unlikeable characters.Questa recensione ti è stata utile?

I Can't Believe I Ever Doubted TayNew
I'll admit it, I was one of those people who was saying that Cherry Magic shouldn't have gone to TayNew (I personally suggested EarthMix), but then I watched The Warp Effect and I was like, no, the only person who could play Adachi is New. And I'm glad I saw the vision. And after finishing this show, TayNew put a lot of heart into this remake and I thank them for it. What I liked about this version of Cherry Magic is the nods to the Japanese origins while putting Thai culture into it. I also liked the changes they made to the side couple's story. And again, TayNew's chemistry is top-tier for this. I've watched (and finished) 5 BLs in 2024 so far and this is the top one.Questa recensione ti è stata utile?
Parbdee, I will get you that Emmy!
Where to even begin describing how wonderfully written and executed this show was. I haven't been able to start and finish a GMMTV show since 23.5 and I am so glad that this is the one that finally stuck. I was hooked onto the music the second I heard it, and have been streaming it daily since it his Spotify. The first episode really pulls you in and you immediately get a feel and attachment to each of the characters. Home, Peach, Pang, and Kan are all so different from each other but make perfect sense together. TayNewMookJan did an amazing job as these characters and made me fall more in love with them each week. The storytelling and world building of this show is masterful and really gets into the core of what a TV show is supposed to be. As an aside, since the rise of streaming only shows, there's this energy where shows with 8-12 episodes just feel like a really long movie chopped into pieces with no rhyme or reason. Not with Peaceful Property. Each of the early episodes had a ghost story A plot and a Vimarsukan family drama B plot, and it kept me hooked week to week. Every ghost story A plot had me sobbing more than the previous week, I think the writers did a phenomenal job of balancing humor with more solemn concepts like grief and feelings of inadequacy in your own family.
Overall, this show is amazing and I need Parbdee to continue making visually amazing, well written comedies like this. I cannot recommend Peaceful Property enough.

Adorable Start to GMMTV's GL Journey
I can still remember the day GMMTV announced that MilkLove were getting their own GL. I wasn't watching it live (different timezones, I ended up waking up a little too late, RIP) but pressing play on the 23.5 pilot trailer and seeing Love bump into Milk into made me feel like I was going insane!! Two years later, we finally have the full 23.5 series and it's honestly as great as I imagined it would be. It was light and fluffy, the pacing was stellar, and the acting was on top. The Earth plot-line was well written for the first half of the show and OngsaSun's relationship was super cute for the middle of the show. I do have a bit of qualms with the later part of the show with the whole family dinner situation and the fallout of that, but I kind of expected that as this isn't my first GMMTV show (they have a pattern). The stand outs of the show for me were Ongsa and Aylin, they were super dorky and lovable while still being flawed and young and human (or alien!). All in all, it hurts a little bit to see such a negative reception of this show on this site, seeing as it was very clear from the beginning the tone this show wanted to go for, but to each their own I guess. 23.5, you will always have a special place in my heart.Questa recensione ti è stata utile?
