My Favourite Dramas
From 2011 to the present, these are the dramas that I have never forgotten. Some of the old ones probably aren't the most amazing now, but when they had just come out I was LIVING for them, ha! No particular order.

1. Eternal Love
Chinese Drama - 2017, 58 episodes
My first fantasy cdrama and it opened up the doors for me to be so incredibly excited to watch even more. I've really been missing out all these years, I have no clue why I never thought to watch one. 58 episodes and I never got bored - EVER. Sometimes I wanted a scene to finish only because I was eager to see more of the main couple but I was never bored. The OST is outstanding, I've been listening to it for a month and I am not tired of it. This drama really got me in my feels. I've read some people who know a lot of Chinese mythology and say the timeline is inaccurate at times, but what really got me is Mark Chao (my fellow Canadian boy!) and his character Ye Hua's love for Bai Qian, as well as the idea of the multiple lifetimes. It makes you want to root for them.

2. Rich Man, Poor Woman
Japanese Drama - 2012, 11 episodes
When I was watching this, I just really fell for the main couple. There were scenes between them that I didn't know I wanted until I got them, and when I did, I was staring at my screen in awe by how much I loved it and how it was making me feel. While a lot of people like this drama, I also know there's a few who just didn't click with it. I happened to get attached to it more than I thought I would. I'm sad I missed watching Oguri Shun in his romantic drama roles when he was still mainly doing them!!

3. Reply 1988
Korean Drama - 2015, 20 episodes
I feel like I haven't fully watched the last two episodes except multiple scenes from them because I was heartbroken finding out she didn't end up with who I wanted her to. But before that, this drama was becoming one of my absolute favourites. I love the feel of the Reply series and how it can make anyone feel nostalgic, plus it helps people who didn't know before learn about some famous Korean classics (songs, commercials). 1988 is my favourite of all three.

4. Sungkyunkwan Scandal
Korean Drama - 2010, 20 episodes
I've blocked Yoochun out of this drama now. At the time, this drama was my life. When I think of this drama, there are a few distinct scenes I remember loving and can picture in my head from the amount of times I would replay them! I will never forget how happy they made 11 year old me haha. Plus, this was my first drama. It is definitely one of my favourites and whenever I hear the OST it really makes me feel nostalgic.

5. Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha
Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
ROMANTIC SUNDAY!!
I watched this drama when it aired and Du Shik quickly became one of my all time favourite characters. It's a shame about the actor (who I no longer support). But, I have to stick to the feelings I had when I watched this and separate the character from the actor. This drama had all my favourite tropes in it. I loved how Du Shik was drawn to Hye Jin but they had that bickering and slight enemies to lovers going on. I loved how Du Shik would act indifferent around Hye Jin sometimes and smile quietly to himself (I LOVE this trope). I also liked how Du Shik liked to do things for Hye Jin to help her <3. I loved the comfort aspect of the Shikhye relationship. I thought it was lovely to see a character who had been through so much find someone to cry with. The love triangle was fun and comedic, not unhealthy at all. I thought the pacing was great and enjoyed that Hye Jin and Du Shik confessing took time. Lastly, the location was beautiful!
Love you halmeoni!

6. Crash Landing on You
Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
**SPOILER ALERT IS THE SENTENCE CROSSED OUT** I loved Hyun Bin's character, the way he loved Se Ri, and the boys in his team from North Korea. Absolutely adorable + awesome OST. It did get a little cliche at the end in terms of him
telling her he never cared about her to protect herbut I'm used to that in dramas so it didn't take away from my experience. -
7. L'affetto reale
Korean Drama - 2021, 20 episodes
-
8. Love Rain
Korean Drama - 2012, 20 episodes
Looking at the cover I was reminded of the storyline of the parents in the present and uhhh we'll forget that (it was boring imo) but the OST is iconic and this drama made me fall in love with Jang Geun Seok. I just rewatched a couple scenes and while it is clearly not quite up to the standards of dramas now, it is a classic!
