***SPOILERS*** Sad Dramas Watchlist
Just a random collection of all the dramas tagged "sad ending" or "bittersweet ending" to watch during those depressing days. I'm also gonna try and rate these based on "the amount of tears I shed" and leave little comments about them :) I'm probably going overboard, no one's gonna see this.

Ok TECHNICALLY this is more of a tearjerker and IMHO has a very happy ending, but it just depends on how you interpret it and could definitely be considered a sad one. So I'm putting this here because I freaking love this drama to death (no pun intended). I do this embarrassing thing where if I'm in the mood to cry (and I love crying) I just pull up the music video for the theme song on youtube and just bawl my eyes out. The little montage makes me cry every single damn time.

15. Goblin
Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes
Sadness meter: 5/5
I may be biased, but I can't even begin to tell you how much this drama destroyed me. This goes under the bittersweet category but for once I didn't spoil the ending for myself and only knew that it was sad, so I was sobbing nonstop for 4 episodes straight because I didn't know what would happen.
-
16. Mr. Sunshine
Korean Drama - 2018, 24 episodes
Sadness meter: 5/5
The catchphrase of this drama is "sad ending." Need I say more?
-
17. 1 Litre no Namida
Japanese Drama - 2005, 11 episodes
Sadness meter: 5/5
Don't watch this in public. Just don't. That's all I'm gonna say.
-
18. Be with You
Korean Movie - 2018
Sadness meter: 4.5/5
I wept like a baby. Very confusing initially but once it starts making more sense, you cannot stop the tears from rolling.
-
19. Star of the Universe
Korean Drama - 2017, 21 episodes
Sadness meter: 4/5
This is the type of ending where you expect one thing, but it ends up being way way sadder than you expected it to be. Good stuff.
-
20. A Werewolf Boy
Korean Movie - 2012
Sadness meter: 3/5
It was bittersweet imo. But actually a bit on the happy side? I cried for sure, but nobody died so I mean... I freaking love the soundtrack though. I'm not lying when I say I'm still playing the theme song on my way to work every . single. time.
-
21. The Princess Wei Young
Chinese Drama - 2016, 54 episodes
Sadness meter: 3/5
My treacherous friend told me this had a happy ending. It does NOT. I spoiled myself when I was halfway through, and let's just say I still haven't moved on.
-
22. Non siamo più vivi
Korean Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
Sadness meter: 2/5
A lot more emotional than I expected! Leave it to kdramas to make me cry like a baby watching a zombie drama
-
23. On Your Wedding Day
Korean Movie - 2018
Sadness meter: 2/5
If I wasn't in the middle of class when I finished this movie, I would've been crying my little heart out. Beautiful story with a bittersweet ending. I appreciate the way it ended and wouldn't want it any other way.
-
24. Move to Heaven
Korean Drama - 2021, 10 episodes
Sadness meter: 2/5
Didn't care for this one too much, nor is it actually what I would consider a sad ending, however the drama itself is very sad throughout because of what happens, and I cried quite a bit during the last episode (also shed a few tears throughout).
-
25. 20th Century Girl
Korean Movie - 2022
Sadness meter: 1.75/5
Same issue with this one as "I'm sorry I love you." The relationship here was a tad juvenile for me and a bit rushed. It was hard to convince me about the depth of their feelings, but crap I did tear up quite a bit in the end with the Han Hyo Joo parts
-
26. I'm Sorry, I Love You
Korean Drama - 2004, 16 episodes
Sadness meter: 1.5/5
I actually got over this one really quickly. I think the main reason I didn't feel too sad was because the leads' romance didn't make much sense to me, so the tragic ending was kind of bleh because of it.
-
27. A Moment to Remember
Korean Movie - 2004
Sadness meter: 1/5
I didn't really feel much? I did tear up at the end so there's that. When I think about the ending, I get sad, but not sad enough to actually, like, cry.
-
28. Palpito d'amore
Korean Drama - 2023, 16 episodes
Sadness meter: 0.5/5
I might've teared up a bit I do not recall. Didn't give a shit about the leads so it was whatever.
-
29. The Hymn of Death
Korean Drama - 2018, 6 episodes
Sadness meter: 0/5
I love SHS and LJS but I didn't feel anything lol. When the ending came I was just happy it was over.
