201. Gyeongseong Creature Season 2
Korean Drama - 2024, 7 episodes
This is a continuation from season 1. I enjoyed the action a lot. It was still as fun as last time. I wish they would have focused more on the story this season, or revealed it earlier on. The backstory was revealed very slowly and it got frustrating. It felt like the plot was moving slower than usual because of it. Overall, it was an entertaining action drama with monsters.

202. Because I Want No Loss
Korean Drama - 2024, 12 episodes
This is a very bingeable drama. I want to give it an 8. The pacing was great. It was entertaining. Was it algorithm driven? Probably. And yet, I still do not care. It has my favorite trope (contract marriage). The comedy made me laugh. The "lightsaber" fight had me in stitches. XD Surprisingly, I actually could relate with the FL. I have one of those angel moms and it can get frustrating. The last episode felt a bit slow, which is normal as the story winds down. I feel like they could've wrapped things up a bit better. What about FL's ex? I think a lot got cut out. Maybe they made things short because there will be a spinoff series. Anyways, I thoroughly enjoyed this drama and found it entertaining. My rating is pending for now...possibly 8.

203. Snowfall
Chinese Drama - 2024, 24 episodes
It just wasn't the vampire drama I was looking for, but to be fair, Chinese writers have to deal with all sorts of workarounds to bypass censorship rules. The story had a good start. The action was okay. It had a bit of a campy feel to it. There were a few twists that caught me off guard. At some point it just started to get boring for me. Maybe it was because the plot dragged. There were also some things that made me facepalm, such as a dumb forgiveness arc at the end. There was a lot of other stuff that could've been wrapped up better. I want to give this a 7, but ultimately this wasn't worth the watch for me...although it was close. p.s. Vengo Gao wearing that ridiculous hat is my favorite thing.

204. Yu Yu Hakusho
Japanese Drama - 2023, 5 episodes
It's been very long since I've seen the anime that I practically watched this with a fresh pair of eyes. Was a live action necessary? Probably not. However, I think they did a decent job of capturing the major story arcs and consolidating them to a single episode. It did of good job of telling the story in 5 episodes. It's hard to escape that rushed feeling though. The action is fine. It can get a bit corny/cringe sometimes. The wigs did not help. >_< Regardless, this drama is a great watch for October with its monsters and demons.

205. The Boss’s Menu Table
Korean Drama - 2024, 2 episodes
This spinoff is so unserious and fun. I'm giving it the same rating as No Gain, No Love.
-
206. Tengu no Daidokoro
Japanese Drama - 2023, 10 episodes
Ah, I've grown to love this drama so much. It's a perfect "not so scary" October watch with its "Tengu" theme. It is incredibly soothing and healing. Normally, I would hate the slow pace, but the scenic shots reeled me in. I was looking forward to all the foodspirations I would see every episode. The only crime was that asparagus homemade pizza. These guys grew up in New York! I know they'd be craving that thin crust good stuff. This drama was very wholesome as well. I loved the two brothers. I love how the main character changed by the end. The only thing I found weird is that the parents never bothered visiting their eldest son in Japan for 14 years, but when their youngest lives there for a short while, of course they'd come and visit. That's not really fair to the oldest child. Overall, it's a very wholesome and healing drama with its themes about food, patience, and reconnecting with nature. p.s. There's a dog! :D

207. Shadow
Thai Drama - 2023, 14 episodes
Well, I seem to have found myself a hidden gem amongst my October watches. It took me a few episodes to get into it, but once I did the plot was unique and interesting. The writing has many layers to it. It's interesting to see how parallel the main character's life was with the guy who sat in the seat before him. The drama has a good amount of spooks and mystery. There's also symbolism and allegory relating to a certain very popular play. This drama depicts religion in a unique way. It uses both Buddhist and Catholic approaches as well as modern psychology to tackle a problem. It was weird at first, but I finally got used to it. Keeping in mind Thailand preaches Buddhism more, most of the concepts were Buddhist.

208. Follow Your Heart
Chinese Drama - 2024, 40 episodes
I started this awhile ago and had it on hold for months. I finally binged it today. Of course it has its slow moments and occasional annoying villains, but I found it to be entertaining. The shapeshifting plot made things refreshing. FL would shapeshift at the most unfortunate times, which I found to be amusing. I loved all the actors who played FL. It had a cute main couple and cute side couples. The drama has its flaws, but if you have the time, this is a decent watch.
-
209. Samurai Swordfish
Japanese Movie - 2022
Forgot to add this yesterday. Interesting story and combination of tags. I liked it. It's a short film so the budget won't be that amazing. It's slightly cheesy and inspirational, but it's the good kind of cheese.

210. 7 Days Before Valentine
Thai Drama - 2023, 12 episodes
This had a rough start, but it eventually won me over. ML is really annoying and selfish in the beginning, which he sort of needs to be in order for this plot to work. I think at the end of the day I liked the plot. It was unique and creative. The writers also referenced popular works of literature and mythology, such as Macbeth, Faust, etc. I had to speed through a lot. Like I said, ML can be unbearable. However, I liked his character growth by the end.
#grim reaper, flower shop, flowers as a form of apology -
211. Love in the Desert
Chinese Drama - 2024, 26 episodes
Glad to get this off my list. The initial revenge storyline seemed promising and the desert backdrop made it refreshing. The costumes were pretty cool, even if they weren't accurate (this is a made up kingdom anyway). The scenic shots were great and I loved the use of color in this drama. However, the more you watch this, the more of a chore it gets. The main couple becomes incredibly boring. FL is just looking for a book for like 80% of the drama. ML secretly sneaks in and out of the kingdom like it's no big deal. This kingdom had no security. So much does not make sense and is highly unrealistic. I watch partied this drama. When the entire group is constantly confused, then that's a telling sign that there's a problem with the writing. Maybe they cut out a lot because the episode count is shorter than your usual c-historical. Anyways, the only saving grace of this show is the secondary couple, who were the more interesting and entertaining part of this show. It's a problem when you start hoping one of the main leads dies or start shipping them with other people. Not only is the show repetitive, there is zero logic when it comes to multiple major plot points. There were a few surprising chaotic moments that I lowkey found thrilling. If the episode count was longer, I would've possibly given this a 4, but since it's relatively shorter, it's a 5 for me.
-
212. The Whisperer
Thai Drama - 2023, 9 episodes
It was bad from the beginning. There was overacting. The plot was so dumb and messed up. Almost all the characters were horrible. ML is batshit crazy. ML's new neighbor keeps gaslighting him to make him think he's extra crazy. There's no way of differentiating between what is supernatural vs. what is mental illness. I kept wondering what horrible thing ML must've done for all these terrible things to happen to him. They finally revealed it toward the end and yes, he deserved it, but maybe not to this extent because it put a child in danger. There was so much sex, it was a little too close to being classified as gay korn. Don't even get me started on the cheating. To make matters worse, the final episode never aired so this never had a proper conclusion. Not seeing ML get revenge was incredibly unsatisfying. On the plus side, the creepy stuff is actually creepy and there was one twist that caught me off guard.
-
213. Acma:Game
Japanese Drama - 2024, 10 episodes
Death game/deception game type plot, but death was optional so there was a lot less death. It is episodic and pretty formulaic. Once one challenger is defeated, another comes along. They switch things up in the second half to make things more interesting. I actually enjoyed the games featured in each episode. There were only 2 episodes where I felt the games required too much brain energy to understand so I skipped over them. It's a decent deception game drama, but there are clearly far better ones out there like Liar Game and Alice in Borderland.

214. Omukae Shibuya-kun
Japanese Drama - 2024, 12 episodes
It was cute. FL was cute. ML's little sister was cute. It's just a cute story all around about two people awkwardly falling in love and dating. The only con for me is that it's a noonamance and ML reminded me way too much of a kid. He's an actor who's oblivious about romance. He is usually seen wearing two outfits: a tracksuit (that's kind of an eyesore) and a high school uniform (even more disturbing because it makes him look like he's an actual student). This is a very innocent relationship though. I can't complain much other than ML and his odd outfits. It is very nice seeing him in normal casual clothes from time to time.
#accidental kiss, character named after a flower. -
215. Meguru Mirai
Japanese Drama - 2024, 10 episodes
Time travel/time loop type of story. You really have to be in a certain mood to watch this. It was decent, but I've seen much better when it comes to these types of plots. The first half was semi interesting and had potential. The second half was kind of lame. It had plenty of twists and turns. For me, the villain's flawed logic was absurd. It just made the whole plot seem dumb. The spinoff was super cute though.
-
216. Meguru, Haruka Mirai
Japanese Special - 2024, 1 episode
Super cute spinoff. I liked it way more than the original drama.
-
217. Yin-Yang Town Strange Talk
Chinese Drama - 2024, 24 episodes
A low budget mini drama with a Scooby Doo like plot. Instead of the gang, it's just ML and his clown bestie who come upon this strange, superstitious town and solve mysteries. It's a proper horror drama with a few good spooks. It mostly features a lot of odd occult practices. It's not bad for a mini.
#shaman
-
218. Grand Shining Hotel
Korean Special - 2024, 6 episodes
It wasn't that good, but it had a unique and refreshing plot. It sort of goes downhill in the second half, but I'm glad I watched until the end because the twist was worth it for me at least. I mainly enjoyed it because it was a refreshing story. Also, it's very short so that's a plus.
-
219. Tarot
Korean Drama - 2024, 7 episodes
Black Mirror type horror anthology. All stories are separate, but connected in some way. I think the third episode was my favorite, but the first was also interesting. Personally, these types of episodic horror stories are not my thing.
-
220. Brilliant God
Chinese Drama - 2024, 18 episodes
It's a low budget mini drama about a guy who dies, becomes a grim reaper, and starts collecting souls. Occasionally, he helps loved ones move on or helps deliver a message from the dead. It's almost an anthology since it's a bunch of short stories, but the reaper is the same. Some stories were better than others. I would only suggest watching this one if you're absolutely bored.
-
221. Dead Friend Forever - DFF
Thai Drama - 2023, 12 episodes
I went back and forth on whether or not I liked this. It started out interesting, then turned a little too crazy and over the top, but then got more interesting as it dived into the backstory. If you can hold on for 4-5 episodes, things do really get interesting because it has many twists and turns, making it hard to guess who orchestrated the whole thing. If you're looking for romance in this horror drama, this is not a drama I would recommend.
Pros:
+ Keeps you guessing. Difficult to predict the story.
+ Interesting backstory
Cons:
- Over the top acting
- A very cheesy looking serial killer
- Chaotic psychotic breakdowns
- Check for triggers (**SPOILER:**bullying, teacher sleeping with minor student)
- No one is really likeable.
#body horror -
222. Angkhan Khlumpong: Extreme
Thai Drama - 2024, 8 episodes
Another horror anthology. Out of the 25ish titles I've checked out so far, this is by far the scariest. It is proper spooky, Thai horror and for that, I kind of want to give in an 8. I liked the stories from the first half a bit better. Maybe I was drained by the second half. All the ghosts/demons look creepy.
#ghost, torture/body horror, shaman, haunted house -
223. Watashi no Shitai wo Sagashite Kudasai.
Japanese Drama - 2024, 6 episodes
Loved it. It's an eerie mystery that manages to pull you in. It's almost a masterful execution of revenge. I want to give it a 7.5 or 8, but it annoyed me that a few things were left unanswered. It has great writing overall though.
-
224. "Watashi wo Moratte": Koiji Hen
Japanese Drama - 2024, 8 episodes
Ah, warm feels. Just what I needed. This season might arguably be better than the first because it has a good conclusion and didn't end abruptly. The main couple is cute together. The villains are kind of lame, but cunning. It's just hard to believe they could do bad stuff so easily without getting caught.
#grim reaper, ghost
-
225. Happy Stigmatized House App
Taiwanese Drama - 2024, 14 episodes
I see what people mean when they said it fell flat in the second half. It's the main story arc that becomes disappointing when it comes to the romance and the main mystery's conclusion. It was a slightly underwhelming wrap-up too. However, I enjoyed all the cases for the houses featured in this episodic drama. It has a bit of quirkiness to it. ML's best friend is a ghost clown, who's really into One Piece. There's a ghost cat that's a big Harry Potter fan. ML's mom gives tree hugging lessons to help people release serotonin. It's just the random silly things that made me love this drama.

226. Konkatsu 1000 Pon Knock
Japanese Drama - 2024, 10 episodes
Imagine your asshole ex who "ghosted" you randomly appears in front of you one day as a literal ghost. That's the plot of this drama. He's actually dead in this drama. No returning for him. He's got to help her find someone to marry in order for him to move on. And so this drama is about FL going to a lot of matrimonial events to find a guy. She's very picky, but a lot of the guys have major flaws too. Honestly, this drama wasn't for me. I was just getting stressed out watching her go through this process. It's a me thing, but I definitely found her marriage partner search relatable. It's probably why I was so stressed out. I'm also kind of annoyed she turned down one of my ships, but I still like who she ended up with.
-
227. San Sheng Wu Shang
Chinese Drama - 2024, 26 episodes
It had a fun angsty start. ML is most definitely a red flag in the beginning (as expected). I quite enjoyed the romance and the story. Unfortunately toward the end it kept getting repetitive. They just kept repeating different lives with the same story. ML and FL would switch back and forth being the victim and getting revenge. It really is a low budget minidrama version of Till the End of the Moon. It's not bad, but at one point I was watching at 3x.
#cursed object (technically evil object) -
228. Hellbound Season 2
Korean Drama - 2024, 6 episodes
I think I liked this a little better than s1. There was a different turn of events and more answers. Also, the direction was nice. There were some gorgeous scenic shots as well as one cool car chase scene. The cgi was still as good as last time. What I didn't like? All the chaos and madness.
-
229. Clocking Out
Korean Drama - 2016, 4 episodes
A quick watch cuz I needed the alien tag, but the subtitles kept calling them "monsters". ^^;; This minidrama is pure action. I really enjoyed it. There are a lot of fan car chase scenes. I'm pretty sure this is low key a car commercial for Hyundai. Anyways, it reminded me of MIB + car action film, except instead of arresting the aliens, they eliminate them. Great cast and ost. It's a fun watch overall.
-
230. Zombie 100
Japanese Movie - 2023
I absolutely loved this. I'm usually not a fan of zombie movies, but I enjoy zombie comedies. I don't know how to describe this other than it's a feel good zombie movie. An overtired and overworked office employee finds himself finally getting a day off due to a zombie apocalypse. What's he going to do to pass the time when "dying" and becoming a zombie is inevitable? Make a bucket list of things to do before he turns of course. Thus, an adventure begins with ML trying to complete the tasks on his bucket list before he turns. Whether he has incredibly good survival skills or plot armor is up for debate. This movie does get silly toward the end, but that's what I enjoyed. The "master" zombie made me lol. It had a great soundtrack as well.
-
231. Kaidan Botan Doro: Beauty and Fear
Japanese Drama - 2019, 4 episodes
Let me start off by saying this is not my usual cup of tea. It is very slow paced and I probably would not have enjoyed as much on my own. However, it has beautiful storytelling that's almost indie or theatrical. They even manage to sneak in some scenic shots. My favorite part about it is that there are multiple storylines that are interwoven in a great way. I also loved the way the background music matched the mood of the scene.
-
232. Derailment
Chinese Drama - 2023, 30 episodes
Hair, makeup, beauty, blah blah blah. I'm so do done with dramas about influencers and beauticians. The parallel world/time travel plot was interesting in the beginning, then it took a weird turn. ML was also a red flag. He was warm one minute, then cold the next. I liked the second ML. All the parents were pretty flat and annoying. The villain was psycho, but not the good kind...more like the lakorn kind. If I were to sum it up, it's more like a scifi lakorn, except it's a cdrama. If it was a lakorn, I would give this a 6/10. Unfortunately, it doesn't suit the cdrama style, except for the weird scifi part. The episode length didn't help either. Also, some actors can play the cold, red flag ML well and make it look hot, but this ML failed to do so. The only thing I will take away from this drama will be the OST. ♫ I Keep on Rising.♫
-
233. Go Where You Are
Chinese Drama - 2024, 74 episodes
A low budget mini. It's definitely cheesy, bad trash, but I enjoyed it. It was a nice break from the dramas I'm currently watching. Too bad subtitles aren't that great.
-
234. Rest of One's Life
Chinese Drama - 2024, 70 episodes
Extremely low budget minidrama remake of Fated to Love You. Why would I watch it? Because I've got to collect them all! I have to say, I quite enjoyed it. For low budget minidrama standards, it's pretty good. The story is still enjoyable. There were some minor changes to the plot that I could get on board with, such as FL being an orphan. However, some iconic scenes were underwhelming or anticlimactic. They also did the SL dirty in terms of appeal. On the other hand, the lead actor was surprisingly good in his role. He was killing it (well at least for low budget drama standards anyway). Of course a drama would not be complete without some product placement. The product placement for laundry detergent gave me a good laugh. You also have to love how they slap glasses on a beautiful actress and call incredibly ugly. FL is beyond saving when it comes to looks, but of course they find some genius stylist to work his magic and give her a makeover. Anyways, it's just some good old fashion drama fun. It's impressive how they managed to summarize the whole story in 2.5 hours.
-
235. Turn the CEO Be Daddy
Chinese Drama - 2024, 83 episodes
Low budget mini. I really wanted to like it, but it was bad with many plot holes in the logic. Not even the cute kid could save this.
-
236. How Can We Resist Her Charm
Chinese Drama - 2024, 87 episodes
Low budget mini. The FL kind of lacked confidence for someone who's a doctor, a surgeon too at that. ML is a red flag and it's hard to root for him. He was an ass. He felt super guilty for raping someone by accident (though he was drugged). But the next time he met the girl, he practically forced himself on her and didn't feel bad at all. Sort of feels contradictory. So what if he thought she was a different woman? If you feel terrible about forcing yourself on someone, you know the action is wrong. Therefore, you should never force yourself on someone else or put them in that situation, transactional or not. Where is the logic?? Also, the monster was disciplining his kid with a duster, which you'd think he was using a duster cuz it's soft, but the kid was crying like it was a whip. Overall, it's hard to root for this ML.
-
237. You You Lu Ming
Chinese Drama - 2024, 100 episodes
Low budget mini. The ending of this was hilarious. I actually quite liked this one. ML's red flagged actions seemed in character cuz he's a mafia boss. FL is also smart and calculating. This was up my alley. The ending is a a mess, but you forget all about it with the shirtless scene at the end. XD This drama has some surprisingly gorgeous scenic shots.
-
238. He Walks From the Fire
Chinese Drama - 2023, 40 episodes
I'm sorry, I mostly hated it. The beginning felt like scripted patriotism. It was also hard for me to get into cdramas where they use that "official reporting" manner of speaking. I'm not sure how to describe it. Anyways, a lot of the people and arcs in the drama infuriated me and felt frustrating. You have citizens doing dumb shit (which I'm sure happens irl too), but then you have the ungrateful people causing unnecessary drama and fights with the firefighters. Then you have the firefighters themselves causing drama. A guy wanted to quit his job (for a valid reason) and they tried to brand him a traitor. DUDE, IT'S JUST A JOB. And then there was the annoying drama with the entertainers (actors, etc). Why were they even there? They weren't even necessary to the plot. It was just a big waste of time that mostly infuriated me. Even the violin guy wasn't needed. FL wasn't needed either, or at least her role should've been a LOT smaller.
The last story arc involving forest firefighting was my favorite. It was the most interesting. The parallel storytelling of different timelines caught my interest. It really saved the drama for me. However, that is only 1/8th of the drama so I can't rate it too high just based on those few episodes. But seriously, whoever wrote the last 5 episodes must've been someone else cuz they were phenomenal. Also, I have to give the drama props for doing its research on firefighting. The tips and tricks for fire fighting and fire prevention were helpful and interesting. This drama screams "sponsored by the government", which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I wish the bigger budget wasn't wasted on unnecessary storylines. -
239. Yi Wei Ai Qi
Chinese Drama - 2024, 24 episodes
Low budget mini. This is like the knockoff version of the kdrama My Girl. Obviously, it's not as good and the ending is different...a bit dumb if I might add. However, the contract relationship kept me interested.
-
240. Kao Jin Wei Xian De Ta
Chinese Drama - 2024, 100 episodes
Low budget mini & vertical drama. I quite liked this one. It's an enemies to lovers plot. Both ML and FL are playing a little game trying to deceive each other cuz they both suspect each other. Obviously the standards for vertical dramas are not that high, but this one was entertaining.
-
241. Stunner
Chinese Drama - 2023, 95 episodes
Low budget mini & vertical drama. Actually it was fun watching these two sneak around in the beginning. FL was such a tease. Then it gets kind of mediocre and a drag towards the middle and the end. FL's ex (ML's nephew) is such a joke.
-
242. Sang Zong Bie Nue Le, Fu Ren Ta Yao Jia Ren Le
Chinese Drama - 2023, 100 episodes
Low budget mini & vertical drama. I found this one interesting in the beginning. FL is just sick of shit with ML and wants to get away, especially from their current shady situation. I think I mainly liked how she genuinely tried to break things off. This couple seemed to have decent chemistry together. They added one possible twist to the story which peaked my interesting, but the conclusion to that was underwhelming.
-
243. Lost in the Midnight
Chinese Drama - 2024, 89 episodes
Low budget mini & vertical drama. I just found it dumb that FL just stood around and took that abuse (both physical and mental).
-
244. Pian Zhi Da Lao Zong Xiang Du Zhan Wo
Chinese Drama - 2024, 79 episodes
Low budget mini & vertical drama. The ML is very toxic, but what made this interesting is that FL and ML team up. FL is trying to get revenge so she proposes they team up to take down ML's bro. ML treats her has a pawn. I found the story interesting for a toxic romance. They didn't sugarcoat it.
-
245. Stealing Beauty
Chinese Drama - 2024, 82 episodes
Low budget mini & vertical drama. This couple had good chemistry and I found it amusing how they snuck around banging each other and teasing each other. The thing I couldn't stand was FFL's idiocy when it came to the SML. ML opened a way out for FL and she decided to go back and get abused and used by her ex. It was so frustrating.
-
246. Professor Qi Borrowed a Marriage
Chinese Drama - 2024, 100 episodes
Low budget mini & vertical drama. Green flag geges are very rare in vertical dramas. I enjoyed this couple. This was a refreshing storyline for minidramas.
-
247. Lightning Marriage
Chinese Drama - 2024, 80 episodes
Low budget min & vertical drama. I actually loved this one. Both ML and FL are deceiving each other by pretending to be poor. It's just silly and dumb, but also cute. The kids are cute too. Great chemistry as well.
-
248. Chou Nv Hou Ma Ni Xi Gong Lve
Chinese Drama - 2024, 93 episodes
Low budget mini & vertical drama. This one was kind of different cuz it was a time travel historical involving doctor FL going back into the past. Of course it got really annoying every time she would use a modern medical procedure and people were like "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" and trying to interrupt. What takes the cake is that she even does an IVF procedure. XD I think that was a bit too much. I love this lead actress though.
-
249. Mom’s Friend’s Son
Korean Drama - 2024, 16 episodes
I really wanted to like it, but it just wasn't for me. It was a bit slow paced and too dialogue centric (which normally I don't mind, but here all the chitchat annoyed me). ML and FL bickered way too much in the beginning. Oh and FL's mom was a little too over the top and annoying. The second half got a bit more interesting when the main couple gets together. I think when it comes down to it, the story was watered down with way too many characters that I didn't care about. That being said, I loved the second couple and the kid. As a side note, my mom also ruined this drama for me cuz she kept pointing out ML's lipstick and I just couldn't unsee it.
-
250. Kill Me Love Me
Chinese Drama - 2024, 32 episodes
This honestly wasn't as bad as I was expecting. The pros: The first two episodes were epic and set up high expectations (that unfortunately weren't delivered later on). The opening soundtrack is amazing. If you go into this drama with low expectations and not for the romance, then you should be fine. After a short misunderstanding, these two go from enemies to friends. The whole plot is pretty much these two investigating the truth about what happens years ago (as friends). The palace politics are pretty cliche. There were a few absurd, ridiculous, and unexpected things where I wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry. I was going to give this a 7 for being a solid drama, but the ridiculous stuff that happened in ep. 28 made me lower my score. Was it funny? Yes. But the drama itself is trying to be serious so it was very out of place and absurd for this drama.
-
251. Love Game in Eastern Fantasy
Chinese Drama - 2024, 32 episodes
Aah, I loved this series so much. It's yet another one of those "character that ends up inside a novel" storylines. Sure, it's got a couple of flaws and plotholes. A few of them were left there on purpose cuz FL is inside a novel changing the story. What I didn't get was, she's inside a novel, but everything is game themed like she's playing a game. Regardless, it was cute and fun. The comedy genuinely made me laugh and smile. Of course there was an emotional aspect of it too that had me holding back tears. The FL was super cute in this (she toned down the baby voice). I would give the plot a 7.5. I'm boosting the rating because I found the drama to be fun and creative. I love how the fandom was pointing out changes in episodes when the editors would switch things up. I am sad to see it end. Now I have to go back to reality.
-
252. Death Kaleidoscope
Chinese Drama - 2024, 78 episodes
And the award for the best bromance goes to...Spirealm! Okay, technically this is adapted from a BL, but the amount of flirting these writers got away with was epic! I was just smiling with glee at their friendship. This drama had a very unique plot that kept me interested. It had a decent amount of horror in it. I also love all the friends this duo made along the way. They even managed to incorporate some fluffy adorableness in the form of pets. As for cons, this drama can be considered pretty long. Also a few levels in the game were boring and I had to fastforward through them. However, some levels were really interesting! I really like the way this drama wrapped things up. I was almost an emotional mess by the end. I would recommend if you're into video games and mysteries...just note that it has a bit of horror in it.

253. Si Cang Lang Man
Chinese Drama - 2024, 32 episodes
Mediocre plot that is very much forgettable. They spent so much time on the business drama part of the plot, which wasn't even that interesting. It's a marriage of convenience plot for the most part. This couple was cute together. I love how they stayed true to each other until the end, no annoying break ups. There may be some awkward kisses, but they got a bit better as the drama went on. The secondary couple stole the show (as usual). I loved their storyline. They were such a fun and entertaining couple. There was a third couple too that was completely unnecessary. Oh, and there was one annoying delulu and clingy character that got on my nerves in the second half. This drama went on a lot longer than it should have. However, I liked the last arc when the main couple became competitors. The drama is technically enjoyable, but in the end it is average and forgettable. It also probably might not be worth the watch/time investment for its length. On another note, the epilogue episode is super cute and packed with new content.

254. Woori the Virgin
Korean Drama - 2022, 14 episodes
Hmm, okay, yeah...this was a mess. I really tried not to compare it to the American adaptation, but it's really hard not to. Rafael's casting was spot on. They did Michael dirty. The drama is missing the BEST character: the narrator. The whole storyline with the villains and other antagonists was soo bad. There were too many characters and it was all over the place. I like how they changed with the identity of one of the villains. Other than that, this drama tried to do too many things and became a hot mess. Also, there are people who haven't seen Jane The Virgin and were extremely disappointed in who FL ended up with. News flash: the writer actually stuck to the original storyline for this. XD Also, if you haven't seen either remake, avoid the drama page cuz it's full of spoilers.

255. A day
Korean Movie - 2011
A short film involving a cute old lady being her cute self. She dons her best clothes and goes out to buy tangerines, but there are a lot of hurdles in the way.

256. 19th Floor
Chinese Drama - 2024, 30 episodes
Death game style plot. This started out amaazing. The challenges were unique and interesting. The horror was genuinely creepy. It was intense and had me hooked. However, as you get to the second half, the games become more puzzle like that require more psychological thinking. It became boring. A few of the characters I grew attached to were eliminated, which also made me lose interest. There's also the scifi mystery part of the plot that became dumber and dumber as I watched. This started out as an 8 and became a 6.5. I can't in good conscience give it a 7 cuz I was really forcing myself to finish by the end. I enjoyed the visual FX though.

257. Connection
Korean Drama - 2024, 14 episodes
I think you have to be in the mood for this genre, but if you are, it's actually very thrilling. It started off with a bang. You really can't trust anyone in this drama. My brain was working overtime to piece together the information. If you take a break, it's hard to get back into the series. One thing I found annoying is that you REALLY have to pay attention to character names. They are referenced a lot in both present day and in the past. Many of the the young actors looked nothing like their adult counterparts. Only 3 possible characters were easy to identify. This disconnect was a con for me. As smart as ML is, he really is clueless sometimes about those around him. xD Anyways, I found this entertaining for a crime/thriller. The last episode was underwhelming for me when it came to the overall mystery's conclusion, but the very last scene was fantastic. I also have to give a shoutout for the OST. ♥

258. The Sign
Thai Drama - 2023, 12 episodes
Well, I survived. IMO they just combined genres that did not go together. If the focus is crime and action, then focus more on the crime and action and develop that story better. A little romance on the side doesn't hurt, but this went full on BL mode with heavy sexual objectification. I liked the mythology storyline (even if they did a cheesy past lives thing). The childhood connection was cute. I know that trope will make people groan lol. I also liked the female unit leader. She was so chill lol. My favorite crime arc was probably the one involving the artist. When it comes down to it, it has a bunch of things I don't like...Thai crime drama, Thai BL with heavy sexual objectification, Thai past lives storyline. This time I liked the past lives plot though. There was so much action that I did not enjoy. I was zooming through at 2x speed, which is rare for me. Anyways, I don't consider this drama any special and will most likely immediately delete it from my brain.

259. Mr. Plankton
Korean Drama - 2024, 10 episodes
An amazing, well written dark comedy with subtle, but powerful cinematography. I loved the writing and themes of this drama. One particular one that resonated with me was the obsession of continuing the bloodline. Both ML and FL experienced it in different ways. This drama just pulled me in. It made me smile and made me cry (a lot actually). I usually avoid dramas with this one trope, but I'm glad I watched it. It was worth it. SML totally stole my heart and I love the way they wrote him. The only thing that felt off or unnecessary was the gangster storyline. It was just too much for the comedy or maybe it was too silly. Once the gangsters went away, the show got better again. There are some unanswered questions, but the writers left them out on purpose. At the end of the day, they were insignificant. I wish they had touched more on the mom though since genetics were a factor to this story.

260. Bulk
Korean Drama - 2024, 8 episodes
I don't know. I really just couldn't get into this drama. Maybe cuz I found it boring. Well, the first half was kind of interesting actually. I think it was a ton of characters making dumb decisions that frustrated me the most and made me lose my enjoyment. The drama is very dark and bloody, involving girls, drugs, and a political conspiracy. Seeing girls get treated like shit in this way also makes my stomach turn. I knew that going into this drama though. I think it was just the politics that pushed it over the edge for me. I lost interest after a certain character died.

261. The Irresistible Boyfriend
Chinese Drama - 2024, 20 episodes
I feel like so many people warned me about this drama, so I was prepared for the worst. It honestly wasn't that bad and I enjoyed it. Of course, it's completely F'd up that FL is cheating on all 3 of her boyfriends. However, each guy had something good to offer and it was amusing seeing FL run around trying to keep her cheating a secret. I believe the Chinese saying is that she is a "queen of time keeping." FL did not end up choosing the guy I was rooting for, but at the end of the day, I'm happy with the final outcome. It's just a silly drama that should not be taken seriously.

262. La Valigia
Korean Drama - 2024, 8 episodes
Okay, yes. It's incredibly slow paced so I had to zoom a bit, but there's something about this drama that pulled me in. It had an excellent music score. The mystery kept me hooked. Also, it's a contract marriage plot and I am a sucker for those. I also loved the set. The houses felt so cold. The cons are that it's slow paced and I needed more background information about FL's ex, the stalker, and the mom. They explained it a bit, but I still barely understood cuz it was all so vague.

263. Inborn Pair
Taiwanese Drama - 2011, 84 episodes
After 9+ years, I can finally remove this off my On Hold list. ;D It was freaking long, but I enjoyed it. The thing about older Taiwanese dramas is that they can be so unhinged. You have this pervert grandma who fakes having cancer to get these two married. Then, like a pervert, keeps peeping on them to see if they'll do it and produce a great grandchild. There was ML's brother who gets involved with a *reformed triad boss's daughter. I loved seeing the mafia dude bonding with the other family members. The most annoying storyline was probably the clingy SFL. She was a poisonous snake from the beginning to almost the very end. As long as this is, I felt the pacing was pretty good because the main couple's relationship progresses pretty quickly. I made the mistake of checking the cast profiles toward the end, so that might have ruined the last 15 or so episodes of me. It was slightly starting to drag anyway.

264. Vigilante
Korean Drama - 2023, 8 episodes
I found this to be pretty dumb and forgettable. ML, the vigilante, goes around beating people up and/or killing them. He only has a hood over his head to cover his face and no mask. Like these jokers can't recognize him? ML's fanboy was an interesting character. I can't seem to dislike him, even though he was such a weirdo. I liked some of the action choreography. The OST was pretty decent and one song was pretty head bang worthy. Overall, very average and generic.

265. Can I Be Someone Else
Korean Drama - 2023, 12 episodes
I watched this with the advantage of knowing what happens to this couple. I just was along for the ride enjoying the story anyway. I liked the divorce cases, especially in the first half. There are some great quotes, analogies, and metaphors. I got kind of bored when they went into criminal law. Some cases hit close to home when it came to my friends. I liked how they incorporated the "modern" cases that S. Korea doesn't have laws around. Finally, I'm happy the main couple was able to discover the root cause of the problem that caused their divorce and get the help they needed. It's interesting. FL becomes more and more unlikeable as the series goes on. You start to notice her flaws and how annoying she is. ML is dislikable in the beginning, but you see more and more of his positive side as the series goes on. I love how they came to a mature understanding by the end of the drama.

266. Pu Kou Shan Liang Te Wo Men
Taiwanese Drama - 2024, 8 episodes
I'm not sure how to rate this one. I guess it's a solid 7 overall, but some episodes were much better than others. The way they depicted some things happening in life was very real. My heart broke for these characters. I like how Mike He didn't have his usual trademark look. He just looked so tired and exhausted cuz of life. It took me a while to recognize him. xD I also have to give a shout out for the makeup in this drama. FL2's makeup was done so well cuz they transformed her to show three different stages in her life. The last episode was pretty draggy and some arcs (like the chairman) felt vague and unnecessary. However, I like how the story concluded. Oh, and I loved the opening theme song!

267. Playboyy
Thai Drama - 2023, 14 episodes
I was forced to watch this drama.
+1 for artist boy storyline (I like to call him Zoey)
+1 for the who dunnit mystery that ended in disappointment. It had a few things that threw me off guard (as dumb as they were).
The actual plot could be reduced to one episode or a movie. -
268. Youth of May
Korean Drama - 2021, 12 episodes
The first half was a 7 for me, the second half was an 8. I could probably rate it 8 too. Where do I start? I guess from the beginning. It started off light, set in the backdrop of 1980s South Korea. FL is staying in her lane, unbothered, trying to get her one way ticket out of the country to study abroad. Everything is lining up for her, but in swoops ML causing her life to get complicated. This is where I start to get frustrated cuz the girl is about to leave the country, but ML is so selfish and insists on pursuing her. The SFL is selfish too in more ways than one. Then there's the precious SML, the voice of reason. Gosh, I had SLS so badly in this drama.
Obviously, this drama is very sad and heartbreaking. It revolves around the events that led up to the Gwangju Uprising. It was just terrible to see. The drama captured this portion really well. In fact, I thought it was too much torture to watch. This drama unearthed a lot of suppressed feelings of anger and sadness that I've been holding onto from this past year. It's sad to see history repeat itself. Also, it's very timely that I watched this drama right after the Martial Law incident that happed in S. Korea this month.
There were a lot of characters to keep track of, but it was mainly to cover the story from multiple angles. Some stuff worked while others didn't. They had a bit of foreshadowing, but they probably could've done more or better. Also, I think they were cheap with the ending. They didn't want to hire an older cast for the present day characters, so they only showed a few faces. I would love to know what happened to everyone else. Anyways, it's an above average story. I ended up ugly crying and feeling all sorts of emotions. The nice little touch was the OST, which had an 80s vibe. The songs were a bop. -
269. The Murderer and the Toy
Korean Drama - 2024, 8 episodes
This is more of a western style drama in the form of black comedy. I found it amusing, but not hilarious if that makes sense. I really loved the cast, including the actor who plays the antagonist. That's one of the reasons I wanted to watch this. These actors are known for picking interesting projects. I found the premise creative. Whether these killings happen by dumb luck or divine interruption is up to interpretation. I liked this a lot better than Vigilante. Anyways, I'm going to be slightly biased on this one. +0.5 for all of the Batman references and similarities to the comic. I had fun connecting the pieces.
