1. Parasite
Korean Movie - 2019
This movie deserved the accolades and hype it got. The directing, cinematography, social values and context and the performances of the cast (In particular, Song Kang Ho, Cho Yeo Jong, Park So-dam, Lee Jung-eun & Park Myung-hoon).
A great movie to watch and an interesting story. Well what can you expect from the brilliant director, Bong Joon-ho

2. Hwayi: un ragazzo mostruoso
Korean Movie - 2013
Dark, sad, gritty and brutal. Yeo Jin Goo masterfully portrayed the broken and enraged Hwayi. The story and the antagonist was fucked up that I utterly gasped at every scene. I absolutely love this movie, and if you are a fan of twisted revenge movies this is the movie you have to watch.

Emotional Rollercoaster. This shows how LGBTQ+ couples and individuals struggled back then to fight for who they are. Edward Chen was just stellar in this. A great LGBTQ+ film from Taiwan.

-
7. Train to Busan

One of my favorite zombie movies. It made me scared but also emotional mainly because of Gong Yoo, Ma Dong Seok's, & Kim Soo Ahn's performances. The ending broke me so better prepare tissues for this.

13. Seo Bok
Korean Movie - 2021
An enjoyable slow-burn sci-fi film with two great male leads. The dialogues were intriguing and the special effects in the carrie-esque scenes were great. The story is nothing new though and it's actually kind of predictable.
-
14. Boku mo Aitsu mo Shinrodesu
Japanese Special - 2022, 1 episode
This isn't a movie, it's a special but it's length is like a movie. This is just a cute LGBTQ+ positive movie with great chemistry between the male leads.

This was effing hilarious. The cast did great and the plot is also well fleshed out which is rare for a slapstick comedy.
-
17. Midnight

Suspensful and Thrilling. The story is a little predictable and some choices in this movie is frustrating to watch but the performances of Jin Ki Joo & Wi Ha Joon are a standout, which makes this more thrilling to watch.

This was better than the first movie. A well rounded plot and Kim Nam Gil and Son Ye Jin stole the show.
-

A melancholic melodrama between two people. I love the calm atmosphere and the chemistry between the leads but it was kind of boring at some parts.
-
24. Okja
Korean Movie - 2017
I hardly remember some parts of this movie but I did remember how I liked it. Tilda Swinton is amazing here but I think this is Bong Joon Ho's weakest work.
-
25. The Pirates 2
Korean Movie - 2022
A jump packed brainless funny film with great acting performances by Kang Ha Neul, Han Hyo Joo and Lee Kwang Soo.
-
26. Udagawachou de Matteteyo
Japanese Movie - 2015
A great exploration of Gender Identity. Some moments were beautifully shot and the two characters were quite complex. Some scenes though are quite questionable.
-
27. Sweet and Sour
Korean Movie - 2021
An OK movie with a great plot twist. Krystal and Chae Soo Bin carried this film. The whole metaphor in the movie is great.
-
28. The Girl on the Bulldozer
Korean Movie - 2021
Kim Hye Yoon was so good at this movie even though her character was quite irritating. The whole movie presents itself quite messy but it had potential.
-
29. Tomb Robbery
Korean Movie - 2020
Lee Je Hoon carried this film. It's an OK heist film but the plot twist was executed great though. The movie just suffers from the boring pacing.
