2024 best k-dramas

Has all the best qualities that make people all around the world to fall in love with k-dramas. There's humour, there's warmth and heart, there's local colour and an ensemble cast. There's dialect, there is ssireum and beautiful ssireum bodies, there's a murder case with a dog as a main witness. You'll smile all the way. You'll root for Jang Dong Yoon with all your heart, he is cute and sympathetic to the max. The cinematography is awesome.

Tears your heart out and makes you cry so hard. But the kind of tears that purify the soul. Unforgettable. Incredible acting from all the cast. Not to be missed.

A total gem from start to finish. Very beautiful. Writing, acting, cinematography, everything is perfect.

Very dark crime thriller that makes your blood boil from the unjustices. Byun Yo Han and Go Jun make the perfect team. The level of artistry in acting, directing, writing and cinematography is very high.

Laughed and cried, I can't find a damn thing to complain about. Entertaining and loved, a big success that was well earned. Will definitely rewatch.

An atypical drama of a family with lost superpowers. What can you say, only a k-drama can be this wonderful. Every single detail was carefully crafted. The theme song will forever stay in my head.

One of the very underrated thrillers that contain black comedy. Truly clever writing.

So funny, even though not always avoiding the cringe factor. But a very great k-drama in Dramaland scale.  Kim Soo Hyun's acting is truly masterclass . Too many twists and turns towards the end, but will defnitely rewatch.

The first episodes are introductory and patience is amply rewarded in the latter episodes. Beautiful, thought provoking. Every detail is carefully designed. Cinematography and artistic level are so high I hope this get many awards.

Funny, heartwarming and wise. What it means to be a parent and an adult who is there for troubled kids.

Black humour coupled with suspense. You feel sympathy for the poor Dong Jae who tries so hard to make a comeback from bad to good but always ends up in impossible situations. In the category of not to miss dramas that didn't get a lot of hype.

Funny and dark at the same time is a killer combination. Trio of great actors Lee Hee Joon, Choi Woo Shik and Son Suk Ku. Plus a grumpy dog. Brilliant.

Didn't expect this to turn out so wise and meaningful based on the first season.

Action packed, an introduction to S2 when to plot comes together.

Very clever writing indeed. 2 timelines makes this more complex. The cinematography and acting are top notch.

Dark drama. Sad story with well written characters who gradually find healing in their lives.  Kim Nam Joo and Cha Eun Woo are unforgettable in this.

Historical drama with humour and suspense. A drama that virtually no one disliked.

Suspense filled thriller. Jo Sung is fantastic as a cop turning into a drug addict.

Absurd humour without any semblance to realism. Loved it.

Funny but not all cases are equally interesting. Absence of romance was a bonus. Ahn Bo Hyun & team made a good entertaining drama. Welcome S 2.

Warm and funny family drama.

Found family trope is my favorite. Sweet, but the closing episodes were pretty lame.

The context is fresh and the cases interesting. Good crime drama.

Supernatural ghost drama, with romance. The cases in the beginning were better than cases at the end.

Funny in the beginning but all of the bubbles fizzled out as it progressed.

Tandem dark horror drama, not all episodes are equally good. Still worth watching.

Dog detective and his 90-tear old teammate. Good warm fun.

Had its funny moments, but needed something more to stand out. Only fluffy romcom that I visited but didn't drop and that's something I guess.

There were some very funny moments and a good couple but it seems this was butchered aka shortened in the production process for reasons unknown to me.

I still don't know why they changed bodies. It had its moments but got draggy.

Car insurance team working on fraud cases makes an interesting  context.

Started out promising with Park Ji Hoon doing a double character. Plotwise fell apart badly in the second part.

Plot got lost in the warfare. Who against who, and why, will probably never be revealed. Could have been really good if not overtaken by Disney producers.

In the beginning there was a plot but then it turned into a bunch of psychos trying to kill each other. Which was boring.

Got increasingly boring, even though it was short. 2nd couple was more romantic.

Hsitorical police drama. Had some interesting cases, but overall just nice, nothing special.

This promised to be an interesting psychological thriller but then it lost its plot altogether. Psycho killers are never interesting.

Portraying humans as cruel and selfish doesn't sit well with me. The message was very mixed and shock value was all that it came down to, in the end.

Skipped most of it. Boring palace politicking that we've seen a thousand times before.

Adults behaving like kids is not my favorite thing. Humour didn't land, psychology was superficial.

Not the most intellectual drama and in the end I regretted having watched.

Violence and warfare on top of shooting and bloodshed.

Mildly entertaining, okay-ish, nothing special.

Had its moments but was overly long and often boring. Kind of silly, in the end. Biggest among teenagers.

The flimsiest motive for murders ever. This was really bad writing.

Started as a promising psychological thriller, turned out a full blown crazy makjang.

Tried hard to be arty but was just immensely boring and lame.

Looks like they just improvised almost all of the scenes. Based on just a very loose draft of a script. It didn't come out well. Cringey to the max.

Why was this even made. The historical facts in season 1 were almighty important. Season 2 had some creatures flying around in the dark trying to kill Park Seo Jun and that's about it.

Started somewhat promising, showed to a major disappointment. Without any carrying ideas.

Absolutely beautiful story about three broken people.  When there's a lot of pain there also needs to be redemption. This was rated 9 by me and many others until it crashed down completely in the last episodes. 1/10 is purposefully a savage punishment and protest rating. The disappointment caused by the ending of the story was huge.

Complete failure in storytelling and character building.
