I've been searching for the name of this movie I watched about 6 years ago. I thought it was set in China, but I am not sure now. I can tell you some of the story. I think it was set in the 1930's or 1940's.. It was an Epic Drama, love story in maybe a period of civil war?. A very wealthy woman had a lover, who fell in love with her servant ( who may have been her step daughter also). They ran away together. To do this it meant that he was also deserting his military obligation, and they have to go into hiding. while they are on the run, the girl gets kidnapped and forced into marriage with a man in a remote mountain village. Her lover rescues her.. At the END of the movie they have been captured and as she is being forced to board a boat, she sees him being executed by drowning tied to a pole in the sea with many other prisoners. Some of my memories may be wrong, but I hope someone knows the movie, as I would love to watch it again. It had English subtitles. On the Cover photo. The Man wears a White linen suit and ? Hat common in the 30's I think, and he is holding the woman, her head below his. I think she is in a black dress. It is a very sad, but Beautiful movie. Thanks for helping,if you can. Sandy
